I came across the GBA game back around 2003, 2004... I want to say at Kmart... and figured it looked kind of cool. Maybe a year later, I spotted the PS1 game at Gamestop, loose, for around $5. Cut to last year and I discover that not only did Kintaro's revenge get a modern port, but that there was a limited physical release for it as well!
I appreciate it so much! Yeah my mind was blown when I found out it had a sequel. Eventually when I get a chance I will hopefully do a video on it as well.
I bought the game when I had my first PC with emulation capabilities it is damn good, but also damned hard as FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFKKK . I couldn't for the love of God finish it... And I played all major brawlers!!
I personally can't recall beating it either but I used to get pretty far in. Was never great at brawlers though even to this day the game is hard as hell
@@Karlec46 dude, just the DK boss mauls you too death with barrels. I think I got to the subway after that where you have to dismantle the bombs... Btw, the music is indeed great but.. it's like 3 mp3 tracks that repeat over and over and over again. I can sing to you those songs, that's how much I heard them... 🎶 Everything's going backwards, nothing's what it seems. I'm awake from my nightmares. Smash the mirrors, smash my dreams! 🎶
As Karlec said, I'd never heard of the game before. "Best Kept Gaming Secret" is a much more interesting way of saying "Game That Not That Many People Have Heard About Compared to Other Games" and makes for a better video title. Anyway, what did you think of Gekido?
I owned this game, i had fond memories of it, but playing it now i cannot say its good... its got nice presentation but the combat system is non existent.. a block button would go a long way but they opted for a tekken style "just dont move" block, and its terrible... plus its completely unfair which only makes it frustrsting :/
This needs a reboot or remake NO CAP

Nice! I remember this game. I need to get back on some PS1 stuff. Good shit!
I need this! Great beat em up side scroller
yeah i gotta play this now
You can't go wrong with it! It's a great time
Gotta say, I've never heard of this. You cover some interesting stuff I'd never have looked into.
Eventually I will run out of the lesser known games and be stuck going after bigger titles.
Shout out Danger 5
Didn't even knew Gekido got a sequel!
(BECOMES 498th SUB)

it came out everywhere it's not a "secret".
It was more to do with the fact the game sadly had terrible sales. I know a lot of people who have never heard of it what so ever.

I can respect that, especially blocking. They made the game way harder than it needed to be. Felt more like an arcade game than home console release.
