What's your opinion on being friends wit someone you dated before? They don't want to get back together, they said they just like your company. And you genuinely like their company too, but you know they probably will never be able to give u what u want.

Very honest episode. Thank you for sharing with us this, so we not feel crazy anymore, lol. The dating game can be a bit hard for those girls who are this kinda (overly) romantic type, it's really hard when you are so excited about a guy, but then he doesn't reciprocate it. We fantasize about them after the first and second date, we are creates our fairy tales in our own head about this person. It's hard to accept that the other person didn't really felt that way, he just kinda had a great time with us, but that's all. We, girls tend to romanticize too early in the dating game, creating our own heartbreak with that later. It's even harder when the guy future faked you with lots of promises, or when he love bombed you, or later you found out he just used you as a snack till the main course came around. I absolutely agree with that it doesn't do any good if we suppress our emotions. We have to pour our heart out to someone, it probably would help. I also agree with that, after some time, we have to kinda distract ourselves with things which causes us excitement and joy, let's hit the gym and let the steam off or let's do whatever what helps us in this ugly situation. It's okay grieving about a relationship, it's natural part of the heartbreak, but we should move on after some time. At the beginning of the grieving process it seems almost impossible to moving on, but when we are at the end, we realize it absolutely possible, just takes time.

I think what you are talking about in terms of one sided connections something called limerance. Try looking into it, it’s basically a coping mechanism for our brain where we fantasize about someone

I went through a similar breakup as you where I dated someone for 4 years and thought we'd end up together. it's so insanely sad. you mentioned this a bit but how do you let go of thoughts such as "if i had only done or not done x maybe things could've had a chance" ? i struggle with that a lot. :(

I always remind myself that it happened for a reason and no matter what I did or didn’t do, it’s going to work out. And I also remember that thinking “what if” will NEVER change the outcome, but you can learn from it for your future!
