TWO major issues with this GPW-1000Gravitymaster G-Shock!

- Following up with the issue I face with my own GPW-1000 G-Shock battery issue, here is how I solve them. Well, one of them. Expensive method, but not really. Watch the video to learn the details.

Let's tell you something on battery issue,
First, all Casio solar watches batteries, if lost the power beyond a certain limits, they will be dead, ctl1616,clb 2010 and..., All have the same issue,
So as you mentioned, there is a need for jump start, but not from another watch
Simply,You can make your jump starter by yourself, use cheap non solar battery like CR2016, remove the solar battery from watch, connect + to - in both batteries with copper wires
Leave it for 1.5 hours,
After that disconnect 2 batteries, place the solar battery in watch and it works fine and ready for solar recharge, then Discard the cheap non solar battery
About the band, I think the issues is pouring gasoline on the band, all g shock owner that have a car and by accident splashed gasoline or engine oil have exactly same problem.
I think it's not related to Casio.
Sounds like a helpful information. All in all, never leave solar-battery operated watch completely dry of juice - this harms the battery hard. It is a solar battery operated mechanism, not a solar watch, like these ones in the Flintstones.
I tried this method but maybe I didn't wait long enough for it to charge. I even bought button type battery charger (it exist), it didn't work as well apparently. Thus the donor watch method.
Anyway, glad to know this method could still work. I'll forever be thankful for this information! Thank you very much!.

You can also try using 2 CR2016 batteries, connected in series to achieve a voltage about 6 v.
But in this method connect solar battery to these two CR2016 only for 45 minutes.
I tried this method on my 2003 GW-300, it's working fine.
Interesting information. Surely the Power Save (PS) Mode avoids this situation anyway right?
@@AriaAzari Hi, do you have a video show how to do it? My gpw 2000 is dried and the service center said the machine is dead, it is needed to be replaced. It is quite expensive.

Love both series of the identified watches for various reasons.
Have never seen or heard about such problems before (and don't know anything about the Jumpstart thing), although I did learn a lesson trying to charge one w/ a flashlight that got too hot, bad. Also bought a couple of older used watches that had a regular batteries or other issues needing to be fixed, so don't generally like to buy used.

My watch has the 001D259D production number, with the same problem in the orange strap
This is the everything I want from a watch but would have to sacrifice the triple sensor.
Just a quick note for people, if you decide to change your battery, don't use metal tweezers and short out the battery when you remove it. The batteries don't like being shorted out, you then have to go through reconditioning them to accept normal charge again. All the best, Ast...
I have the gw9400 rangeman and when the solar battery was on Medium i used my lux pro flashlight which is 800 lumens sat it on the face of my gw9400 and within 3 hours it was on high and has been on high since
In Saudi Arabia, the price of a watch strap is $64, and the price of changing the battery is $22
For the battery, that is cheap. Strap price seem fair since it is carbon fiber inserted

Unless the adapter is built to integrate with the lug, it'll be a risky mod. For looks alone, sound good and affordable.
@@gshockhighfashion i just easily modified mine after buying a nato strap + adaptor on my g shock housed in a module 3147. it took me about 20 minutes. they're pretty common nowadays.

Thanks for the video, I have gpw-1000fc and I have a problem with hands of the watch, they stop after 2 or days of working and then they stuck and I have to calibrate again.

Sound like gear issue or perhaps circuit board. Either way, if it is too expensive to send it over to Casio, you could do what I did here. Buy another used but working ones and trial and error to find the cause. Sell the rest/leftover parts.

I've had a problem with seconds hand not stopping at 12 when using countdown. It just affects countdown, but throws the accuracy in the other modes. I sent it to Casio, London. It was repaired under warranty but 6 months later the problem returned. As a result I've put a hold on future Gshock purchases. Not because I don't like, but it's too expensive to risk similar things. I hope you get your GPW1000 situation resolved.
I have a problem with my GPW1000-1B.. everytime i will do manual time calibration thru "TIME" or "T+P". The second hand will just directly point to "NO" and back to timekeeping mode, without doing any searching. Any tips on how to solve this problem? thank you.
Same problem. GPS sync is pretty much dead. Don't buy this model.
whats the watch on your wrist, i thought u said it was gpw 1000 but isnt that the ones being shown.

Next time take the battery out of the watch and use a (2) paperclips and a 9v battery.....use the positive to positive and negative to negative from the 9v to the lithium watch battery for about 5 minutes and that gives the watch battery enough charge to get going again.........

Analog sucks it's all good and well until you hear the tik-tak tik-tak and it becomes unbearable instantly 😆 good quiet mechanical movements are well over 1000 dollar and I'll never spend that on watch
Sounds like you're talking about cheap analog models. Master Of G didn't have that due to their built structure.

Yes it is the first and perhaps a watch that allows us to have all of the other new GPS model today as well. It is still awesome regardless.

I think all GPW1000 owners or people researching this model, would be interested. I have experience of this model and was glad when GHF did his teardown video as well. This model has its drawbacks and I hadn't realised about the problem with battery availability etc
One can make a video just to talk about the tiny screws even, when passion is involved. We love our G-Shocks!
