Thank you!!!! Fixed our washer right up! I pulled the little blue screen from the cold line and it was black! The screen was totally clogged up. I scrubbed it and the washer is now running error free. I'm seriously concerned about our water quality though.
Yeah bring those days back so I can nice appliances with really simple fixes like clogged filters. One of the perks to spring clean up around the rich areas which is only a 10 to 15 minute drive from my house.
thank you Ben i found one of the cold water valves showing OL ( open load ) in the Multimeter so i replaced it and the washing machine is good now thanks again 😊🎉
My fix for Samsung front load washer 4E and LE error codes: Tested water valves, main board, and replaced pressure valve, all to no avail. Turned out to be the hose connected to the water pressure valve - vibration had worn down the hose until a pin sized hole (too small to see) was created. At first, I had blown through the hose from the top and heard bubbling in the water collected in the tub and assumed the hose was ok. This model washer uses the DC96-01703G pressure sensor, which makes removing the hose impossible unless you remove the front panel (a chore). My solution around this was to remove the plastic lift handle on the side, exposing a rectangular hole, and using a saw to enlarge the hole to where I could access the hose. If your concerned about appearances, you won't want to do this, but I only wanted to get the washer working.
How I solved the 4E error: The symptoms were the error code appeared when the drum was filling. I followed the steps in this video but still no success. I solved the problem by adjusting the screw you can see on the top of the sensor. I figured out that this screw depresses a spring which controls the water level / pressure. The tighter the screw, the tighter the spring, the more water the machine demands. If the spring is too tight, the inlet hose can’t supply as much water as the machine is demanding and you get the 4E (low flow) error code. With your machine unplugged, loosen the screw a quarter or half turn and the machine will demand less water and the 4E error should not occur. You may need to loosen another quarter or half turn until you find the correct adjustment through trial and error. I’m guessing the issue occurs if the mains water pressure is slightly lower than the machine is calibrated for, so you have to recalibrate the sensor so that the machine demands less water / fills at a slightly slower rate.
Honesty I repair washers all the time and modern ones all have pcb faults either they cheap out on components or literally just don't care about longevity but most faults from samsungs from my experience are board issues.
I have checked everything in the (very helpful) video. Am I correct that you should be able to get the 120 Volt reading by testing the water valves? The board is hard to reach and I can't tell exactly how to test it from the video. I don't get the 120 volt reading at the valves, so probably the board is fried??
Have you ever had a GE with a ‘loose’ agitator but no feed dogs or anything underneath it…? Our washer is on the fritz, it will spin but not agitate. The motor is going/moving under it but the agitator isn’t moving. I took the agitator off and there’s nothing under it. I put it back on, tightened the bolt as much as I could and it DID catch a bit better but doesn’t agitate but maybe a few cm either way. It’s just a super cheap top loader 3 knob GE-no detergent cap
Hi Ben. Have you done any video of Samsung washing machines and what to do what to do when they stink.. we just can’t seem to get it from smelling between loads.
Could you do a video if washer cleaner tabs actually work. We've all seen the tik Toks but who knows what the motives are. Could go into if the tabs do work if they are a substitute for hand cleaning
OMG! I was having trouble figuring out the 4E code. Read this comment, checked that hose and sure enough I found a small hole as well! Thanks to whoever posted this comment!
Same problem, but mine errors during "Quick Wash" setting, works fine on "Delicate" and "Normal" Water flows fine from hot and cold inlet hoses. Software bug?

@@bensappliancesandjunk I am in need of a new washer. Is that the one you’d recommend for the least amount of electronic crap and the most reliable machine?
@@bensappliancesandjunk I moved to a country in South America and do not have a hot water connection to the back of my washing machine. Any suggestions on how to override this, there is no option for us to install hot water?
You need AY or T and put cold water to the hot valve as well. Because it needs that pressure and order for it to operate, but if you can do that, then you should be able to run cold without any issues.
Have done all these, washing the valve hose, drain pipe, clean all the back machine still showing 4E after some minute working, please what do I do next someone serious should help me out 🙏
If I might add, unless your a technician, the only steps us regular people can do are the following: 1. unplug the machine 2. check both hoses for kinks and water pressure (sorry-you will have to disconnect) 3. check the filters where the water hoses are connected (small metal mesh screens) 4. check the debris tray - clean it out 5. remove and clean the soap dispenser trays 6. wipe down and clean the rubber seal around the door and washing machine 7. plug it back in and change to q quick cycle - cross your fingers 8. I think these are really the only things a non tech person can do - do them all to save yourself the grief of doing one thing at a time 9. If these don't work you may have to call a tech this is all i got- good luck
You should unhook the water hoses place them in a bucket and hold them--- Then turn the water on-----Spray the iron solution 1 or 2 times you went way over 1 or 2 sprays. You say put the meter on the electronic board you say this is dangerous what? You should unplug the washer before you do anything. just saying.
If I use any other setting other thatn normal wash, I get the code 4C. I have no issue with water flow. Samsungs are just huge pieces of shit. I learned that fairly quickly.
Why is there no option to bypass this error... or just display the error and still finish the cycle. My samsung washer fills to nearly full, then flashes the 4c error, and drains the water.... just fill to the needed level and run the damned cycle....
@@benfarrellathome1786 nope... just figure don't even flush the toilet while it fills... it also seems to have something to do with water temperature... so turn up the twmp on your water heater... it might help
I finally found my issue. There was a pin size hole in the rubber tubing that runs up to the pressure switch. Replaced the tubing and the error is gone.

The black might be your hoses are breaking down. Might try replacing them.
Bring back the days of no error codes.
Why?? I woulda never known a huge wad of dirt ways stopping up the supply and my machine woulda fried itself without the code!

It's insane to me that they use 120 volts to switch the solenoid
All the ones I've ever seen are 120VAC. Although I figure with everything being driven by computers that they'll eventually switch to 12VDC
Thanks!
