I have a question for anyone who knows how to clean conch. When I purchase it from the grocery store it still has some of the orange skin and bits on it, is that meant to be cut off? I've been cutting it off but sometimes its hard to get to without losing white meat
Good job with the questions ... what's scorched conch? ... how's that different from conch salad? ... do you use OJ? Personally, I like it better with lime and OJ (the way I first saw it prepared in Nassau). It's a little shabby that he uses OJ from the container (and, btw, using OJ is NOT a secret). I'm realizing as I'm writing this that, in fresh conch salad, the conch is not cooked (only flavored) by the citrus. When I make it, I have to use thawed frozen conch, and I marinate it for several hours for the citrus to fully penetrate the conch.
lmaoooo no. that's why it's called conch salad. there are other forms that can be cooked, but the names are different. Such as conch fritters, soup etc.
@sharrod Stewart, I didn't know conch can be eaten uncooked. Your explanation is that, that's why it is called conch salad ..... In chicken salad the chicken is cooked. Everyone is different but I personally would not eat raw meat/fish. I learnt something new today
Good recipe.
Yummy. I went to the Bahamas and had some. It was really REALLY good 😊
Love the video . Thanks for sharing . Going to go and try making it now

Scorched just means they add onion only instead of bell pepper, tomato, etc. It is good, usually a couple of dollars cheaper than conch salad.
I want to try it, I don't even think i can make it my self for we don't have conch in my parts and i don't think the fishman sells this
it doesn't get cooked?
Mick Jagged you can but it doesn't
No you eat it raw
