I got a Voodoo Bizango just over a week ago. Already done over 100 miles on it. Mostly on road while I get used to it but now I'm starting to hit the trails. I'm really loving this bike.
Nice video. I'm in my second year of bizango riding and finding it a great all rounder bike. For those that enjoy trails I can recommend some upgrades. Apart from the usual (essential ?) Dropper post, hollowtech BB, tyres/tubeless, I would consider opening the fork and adjusting to 130mm travel - pretty easy and free. Also, a 2 degree angle headset combined with a minion 2.5 make this bike a beast over rough terrain - only limited by my skills.
Hi Tony, I am glad to hear that the Bizango is still treating you well. I completely agree about the fork. It originally took me a bit of adjusting to get it set up properly on my Bizango.
I went out yesterday 1st time since my hand op. And my gees. I've got some saddle rash 😂 the bike held up nicely though. But did have a thought maybe I should of bought a full suspension but still love the bizango
I loved the video, Woodbury Common is an awesome place to ride, I can't wait for all my bike parts to arrive so I can fix my bike and get out on the trails.
Will be getting a Bizango soon, well when Halfords have them back in stock, and was wondering what the gearing is like for hills on the road? I have to commute, and whilst the vast majority is along a canal towpath the final mile or so is uphill on a road.
I been after a mtb my friend sold me his voodoo bizango same as yours mine is a size 20 tho its amazing bike tho not as confident as you tho fab video xx
Thanks mate. I am actually still waiting for the new bottom bracket. Having a nightmare with it! I put the old one back on for this vid which is why i wasn't out on the trails (it was a bit unstable :D). Delivery rescheduled for Saturday. 3rd time lucky!
@@bikedaft1611 I wanted to upgrade it and want do the cranks at the same time. Stupidly, because we are in lockdown I thought the safe bet to get something delivered quickly. So I decided I would be to replace the original and upgrade later. Turns out that was not the quicker option. Replacement was only £15 thought (£20 with postage).
Bike and Beyond £20 is bad to be honest especially at this time. Just a shame it wasn’t the quicker option for you. My cranks started clicking after nearly 200miles done on the bike. Took it back to halfords and luckily was able to get it fixed under warranty
I bought a brand new Charge Cooker 29er in 2014. Despite the benefits, I never really got to enjoy it because I found it far too heavy and the big wheels required more energy to maintain momentum on the flats and sold it a couple of years later. Since then I've been on my old 2002 specialized hardrock which I refurbished in Matt Black and white - looks the part. I'm tempted to maybe give a modern 650B a try, perhaps it won't be so heavy? Trouble is everywhere seems to be sold out of all bikes at the moment.
I have a friend who swears by his 650B, and he knows a thing or two about bikes so it is probably a good bet. 29ers can take a while to get used to. I had mine for a year and a half and was comfortable on it. I then got back on a 27.5 and the bike instantly felt much more maneuverable. I guess it is all down to preference.
@@bikeandbeyond yeah i was thinking the same, I like the look of the Renthal Fatbars but wasn't sure how much of a rise to go for🤔 , do you think 30mm would be too much?
@@hclandscapes I actually tried something similar recently. I liked the rise a lot better than flat bars, but they do change the feel of the bike quite a lot. Although this is an upgrade for the better, you almost have to get use to riding the bike again.
@@louiscorreia1693 Check out the go pro website. They did have a deal on where you can get the hero 7 or 8 with £100 off when you trade in an old crappy camera. might be worth a look to see if they are still doing it. The 7 is a bit cheaper.
I am not at the moment. Apparently the Bizango is tubeless ready so I brought some rim tape and sealant and said to myself that the next time I get a puncture I will convert. That was 6 months ago and still no puncture :D
Bike and Beyond Lucky you ! I have had two punctures in two weeks now so definitely going to go tubeless now. Can I ask please was that narrow Gorilla tape and Stan’s sealant that you purchased ? Hope I can buy these items at Halfords in these Lock-down times. I think Halfords charge £45 to do the tubeless conversion but in these lock-down times ? I will find out today or tomorrow when I collect my Muc-Off disc brake cleaner.
@@redrobin1129 I think my converter kit is from Muck Off. I haven't used it yet so cant comment if it is any good or not. From what I hear the Stans stuff does a good job. If you don't manage to get it at the shop, Wiggle and Chain Reaction Cycles will have them.
Bike and Beyond Thanks for that. Halfords not doing tubeless conversions at the moment during lockdown so might be brave and have a go myself, but I somehow doubt it...
Definitely go tubeless! It’s so much nicer -I used the 20mm gorilla tape from B&Q around the rim and stans stuff from Evans cycles plus some new valves and it worked a treat - you can ride much lower pressures and it feels nicer. The only tricky bit is pumping it hard to get it to seal. Lots of TH-cam videos on it. :)

@@CarnivoreCole Yeah I am in Devon at the moment, so making plenty of local vids. The Bizango has been a good bike over the last year. It was my first experience of a 29er and I am pretty pleased. I have taken it on some challenging trails and it has held up pretty well to be honest.

Its right down in the south part of Woodbury Common, Devon. Unfortunately people were meeting there during the Lockdown so the land owners bulldozed a lot of the features.
