Worked on P& O cruise liners in the 80s, best years of my life, worked on Canberra meddy cruising 3 world cruises, done the fjords a few times, then went to Aussie to work on Oriana cruising around the Islands such as Fiji and New Zealand and many more. Wish I could go back to that time.
As someone that used to work for a cruise line and been on quite a few as a paseenger. Welcome to the cruise life you have the cruising itch now hopefully. :D. May this be the start of many more cruises to come.
We finished out first cruise yesterday. It was on the Ventura and went from Southampton to Spain and Portugal. We had a balcony room on deck 15. I liked the ships, the room and all the amenities. The cruise was for 10 days, and I was ill with seasickness for about five of them. Although I liked the cruise overall, being ill on holiday isn't something to look forward to. In future, we will fly to the med and start and finish our cruise there.
The reason for fewer plugs in the cabin was due to the ships' age. She was laid down in 2006, launched in 2007 and christened in 2008. While she has had refits. Refitting the cabins in trickier with the way ships are made. The cabins are put into the ship ready made. Slipped in like boxes. Think tetris. However she holds up well for her age😊
Me and my sister were on Ventura, in a cabin with an obstructed view (but that didn't really bother me) but I could tell from the seamless build of the bathroom that the whole thing looked like one massive single piece of plastic!
Travel sickness comes from the movement not in tandem with what you see (no pun intended). If you feel sick get outside and watch the movement of the boat in the water and that should help!
That was hilarious and an eye opener. Hope you continued to enjoy the experience, it doesn't feel very luxury more a Warners on sea perhaps? But the buffet looks to have kept you happy. I know that feeling when you are awake at a different hour to normal, very naughty and exciting, Midnight feasts etc!
Have you looked at getting portable chapters machines? We took one on a recent Mediterranean cruise and it was fantastic. Powered by an oversized powerbank. Also great on long distance planes.
Hello guy, well, thanks for the vlog, I've wanted to do a cruise. However, the whole booking thing, with different packages, kind of confused me, so not yet bothered. Is it all fairly easy to understand, i.e., drinks, food, what you pay for and what isn't it deal? Anyway, I'm watching 8 days after you posted, so you will be home now. I look forward to watching more. Thank you again both. Xx
your like a couple of teenagers again 🤣. what a fun holiday... on an aside.. without glasses you can see how pretty Anna's eyes are... have a wonderful trip.
The cruise looks fantastic break I might have to try a short cruise ourselves as we have never been on one. Love your videos from Emma and Grier in Adelaide Australia.
I've been on the P&O Ventura this last week, was infinitely more fun and exciting than I thought it would be! It's great to have so many things to do, eat and drink and be entertained on a large moving object that takes you to city to city every morning!
If you did like this cruise you definitely need to do a cruise to the Norwegian fjords next honestly you will love it. One of the best ways to see norway and not much longer than this cruise you were on
Amazing video as usual, I really enjoy seeing both you and Anna having a good time because you both definitely deserve it. Also .. new Lego giraffe 😮 😮
If you guys end up loving cruising, be sure to ask what deck is the best to help with sea sickness,…. I think it’s the lower decks that are better. Just an FYI for future.
When we were on Ventura, my sister and I tried the jacuzzi (loved it!) and the sauna and steam room, but I found the pool I tried to be far too chilly!
Thanks for this vlog, we are thinking of going on a cruise, as I have mobility issues like you, but I to get awfull sea sick, so I was watching waiting to see you say ohh I don’t feel so well, glad you was okay as we now know I will probably be okay.
I couldn't go on a cruise. I got put off a few years ago when my mums friend went on one with her son and caught norovirus and they were ill for 3 days straight and missed most of their holiday. I hope you stay well, bad illness on cruises is a common thing 😣
@arc24CH Why because I don't want to go on cruise ships after hearing about bad experiences? I also don't like cruises in general. Old ocean liners were far more beautiful. I am watching because I like Kevs channel
Bad illness on cruises being common depends on the time of year tbh, ive been on 8 i think all during summer and avoided illness all the time, id imagine during flu season its different
Thanks for the great video guy's. question: how does the specialty dining work, as when i book a table its £10 each yet the food on the menu is super cheap like £4 for a steak? Im confused.
Hi , we are going on our first ever cruise in April with p and o so this is all new to us , can you tell us please if you had to have any paperwork with your cpap machines I.e doctors letter as my wife has just been put onto one as of yesterday . I do know that we have to take an extension lead but unsure of anything else . Thanks
great vid. I still find it annoying how old fashion they are with dress codes. Completely not with the times. It's 2024 where trainers are a huge part of smart casual. I know they say cruises is for all ages but thee mid/young generation would get put off for such old fashion dress codes.
Because we didn't know what was available. We filled in the assistance forms honestly before the cruise, and they moved us to an accessible room but didn't offer anything else.

Have just found your channel - hello from your newest subscriber! I last cruised on Ventura in Europe, so it's great to see her in colder climes!
I love cruising and have been on Ventura, Glad to see your having a great start to it.
your like a couple of teenagers again 🤣. what a fun holiday... on an aside.. without glasses you can see how pretty Anna's eyes are... have a wonderful trip.
Pre COVID, we had to actually go outside for the muster station drill. It was chaotic, actually had to wear the lifejackets.
The cruise looks fantastic break I might have to try a short cruise ourselves as we have never been on one. Love your videos from Emma and Grier in Adelaide Australia.
Honestly I’ve never thought about going on a cruise but this is making me want to go thanks Kev

Looking from your balcony onto the White Star berth that the Titanic left from.
Booked our second cruise on the Ventura we went on the Iona before. Welcome to cruising ☺️

This looks super fun. I think I'd dread going on a cruise like this because I'd end up putting on 5 stone.
Well there's the gym on the ship, plenty of walking to do and flights of stairs to climb. Plenty of ways to keep fit on a cruise too
Well done Kev. Enjoyable as always

@pebbleyt1357 Yeah the family that told me said they went on one in the Winter. In the Summer it is probably a lot different.
@@SunsetMeadows1 yea that makes a lot more sense tbh, flu season is bad enough let alone trapped on a boat😂
Went on our first cruise last year in the Mediterranean and totally loved every minute, was amazed at how much there is on the ships and things to do
Great vlog! Enjoy your cruise!
Thanks for the great video guy's.
question: how does the specialty dining work, as when i book a table its £10 each yet the food on the menu is super cheap like £4 for a steak? Im confused.
I too get sea sick sometimes, yet I have found myself looking at short cruises to guernsey (3 days) to see how I'd react to it
What month did you travel please?
Little tip for next time Kev. No need to use google maps at sea. They will have a live map on the TV
Try a larger, newer ship such as royal Caribbean or Norwegian- they have a lot more choice etc for food and activities.
Me and my family were u just flimed
I'm sure you'll catch the bug. We are going on our 5th next month.
We on there 10 of us I seen u both on it

I’ve never had to show paperwork when on the cruise or flying with it. I have a letter from my doctor just in case, but I’ve never had to use it.
@@MoreKevinChapman thank you for getting back to me and clearing that up
I was on that cruise, great video ❤
My fiance and I love P&O cruises we have been on 2 he proposed on the 2bd cruise
Thank you so much for sharing...love watching your video's!
Travelled to ffiords on Ventura loved it x
Looks like you are having a great time 😁
Ex-Cranky Gamers here....I've been on about 40 cruises and I live in Southampton. Let me know when you fancy your next one.. Glad you enjoyed it :)
I'm so jealous you live in Southampton. I'd cruise all the time from there!
I'm so jealous!
Great video mate
So glad that cruises are becoming more accessible, especially the adapted shower/toilet room as well
Couldn't you have taken your mobility scooter, make it easier
It’s looks great and nice

🎉👍🏻
Ovaltine > Horlicks
It looks lovely enjoy both ❤
Me and the wife are doing our first cruise in May. This is great insight so far Kev.
If you want recommendations for other channels and groups as well let me know :) I cruise quite a bit and know some good ones.

You talk to mutch just tell us the important thing not all the crap and woflull on and on and on
Maybe ask whoever is forcing you to watch to put something else on?
Hello why did you not have assistance on board Anna could have had a wheelchair for her mobility hope this helps 🛳️
Because we didn't know what was available. We filled in the assistance forms honestly before the cruise, and they moved us to an accessible room but didn't offer anything else.
Wow 👌 OK I've never been on a cruise 🛳 but looks OK to be fair
