    This has become a worry, my dead body being dug up 10 thousand years from now to be reconstructed. No one would be able to get my hair and makeup done correctly.

    Whenever I see these amazing reconstruction videos, I always wonder what hopes and dreams, if that person loved and lost and if they had been loved, if they were a good person or a bad. Every person has a story... It's sad that almost every story is lost to the sands of time.

      You really have no idea what this woman's life was like.
      You think or assume that because she lived thousands of years ago her life was automatically rough???
      1st, she lived in a literal paradise.
      Gibraltar was and is still located in a mild climate year round.
      The region was long inhabited, for thousands of years, since Neanderthal in fact, and that's for good reason. There was plenty of food, sea food, meat, grains, etc thanks to the mild Mediterranean climate.
      She may have been highly skilled and therefore respected.
      Her facial bones are intact, she at least had no facial injuries. Extended families cared for each from birth to death.
      There was no pollution then, unless a volcano blew, food and water were fresh clean and healthy.
      The people then had far better dentition than we do because they ate good healthy foods.
      Between her people's lives and our extremely overcrowded, polluted, stressful, unequal society full of insane weapons, crazy leaders who put us all on the brink of nuclear wars, our 6th mass extinction, rare fresh clean water, dying oceans etc, that young woman's world is to be envied.
      I would trade places with her in an instant.

      @@abelis644 yes , I really do , look at some documentarys about that period , read some books , and then comment . Back then they didn't had commoditys such as machinerys , they wold need to do everything with crafting which made them more predisposed to accidents or attacks ,the life expectancy was something around 45 if not 40 most of skeletons back then have sevear damages on their ankles which means they worked most of the time and a lot of fractures on their bones . Also a lot of skulls have holes , as a way they thought they wold treat head aches or other illnesses and you say life back then was good ! Bruhhh

  • @Dawghome

    I'm 62 & I recal one of the pioneers of this craft who worked for the police but I can't recal the state in the USA he worked in but he helped to identify remains of skeletons found and given to him to work on and police advertised his result in a paper asking if anyone recognised her and family identified and put a name to a member of their family who'd been missing. Audiences felt he had almost a magical power but he felt in his view it was scientific because the skull dictated the end result. And watching this it still feels awe inspiring and impressive to me. Brilliant work.

    • @kma3647
      @kma3647 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you're interested in how they do this, there's a fairly extensive literature on how forensics artists do this to solve crimes. You can see how the wood pegs were used to mark out the tissue depths on various structures of the face. These are based on averages from real people. The hair and eye color I'm assuming are inferred from the genetics of the people of the early neolithic farmers that came out of Anatolia (modern day Turkey) and effectively replaced the old European hunter-gatherers who had lived their prior (like the famous Cheddar man from England, who wasn't nearly as dark as the famous reconstruction of him implied). In any case, there is a huge amount of this that simply comes down to the artist's ability to recreate a natural-looking face.

      @codename495 4 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Suparna her skin is likely much clearer than it would’ve been in reality. Also she lived and died in a time when people worked hard in the sun day everyday, I would bet she was far more withered and sun worn in reality.

      @@deanfirnatine7814 Indo-Germanics.
      Ondoeuropean is complete wrong. The bounds are only until the Germans, not to all Europe's.
      People say it wrong because they are afraid to sound right winged. It would be interesting to learn how the old Germans thousands of years ago could have been Nazis ( by the way, the Germans of today aren't, too, and not all from the 193üs have been).
      Anywaay: The right word is Indo-Germanics. The folks in the west of the Germans have nothing to do with Indo-Germanics .

      Why? Look very closely at the up close work, and you see mottled skin from natural exposure, and unplucked eyebrows. Also, other than that, why would a Neolithic Mediterranean "youngish " woman look "rougher" than that?

      @Wet Mustard Firstly because the Earth is less than 6500 years old....before you scoff I hold a double masters.....and with all that education I now deem to be " Programming", I now see the real evidence that the "Programmers", find inconvenient and would like to dismiss. There is absolutely no evidence for an Earth older than this....and plenty of evidence for the Biblical account !
