I appreciate your take on this. Those with an open mind and a three digit IQ would agree it needs to be dealt with very cautiously. Thank you for your contribution by warning humanity.
I get what you are saying but I cannot go by without pointing out the hypocrisy - you are sitting in front of a green screened room... literally you are using AR right now to argue against AR...
Totally fair! I'm more worried about the real-time potential of modifying visual inputs in ways that are indistinguishable from reality on a rolling basis. But you're absolutely correct - lots of media is already augmented with digital technology.
A fiction book is AR if you have an imagination. He is nuanced about use case scenarios. A spoon is safe as long as it isn't used to remove eyeballs. Do you understand now?
Comparing a VR headset to a green screen is a stretch. Similarish in concept, but still way way different. It's like saying I'm being a hypocrite for using a typewriter while warning against using computers.
@@thexshattered But I am not comparing a green screen to VR. I am comparing a green screen that augments reality to a headset that does AR (Augmented reality).
Fair point. But I think there's a difference in real time alterations of the world through glasses and CGI. CGI is a technology society has had decades to adapt to, but real time manipulation of reality will be quite a shock, I think!
