Sunbeam Rapiers have a wonderful heritage in rallying and were never a slow coach but not quite up to todays 0 to 60 times. This is an above average example
Had a 1966 one in 1984 same colour but with a black roof and interior I was 22 years old and I paid £175 for it . lovely cars

Nice car in the day. Comfortable and reasonably capable engine power. Made open trips surprisingly brisk and smooth riding.
I passed my test in 1972 aged twenty, a Sunbeam Rapier was my first car. I paid fifty quid for it and my insurance was fifty two quid third party fire and theft.
OMG, that insurance was a fortune - just like car insurance is a fortune now 😢😢
A very stylish motor car in its day. A dash board that Derek would love. A slow old bus to drive IMO.
All of the Rootes range from this period were classy cars, even the basic Hillmans.
You would get more looks than a Lamborghini or Ferrari driving this with the pillarless windows down.
