  • Install Budget Shocks on a Sportster 10.5 inch
I continue my journey of wrenching! I've always wanted to slam the rear and today I did it myself by installing 10.5 inch slammers from H&C Custom. Looks sick.

I've been a mechanic all my working life and I still take loads of pictures throughout the build. Saves an awful lot of problems later on. When you get round to re torqueing the top shock mounts, remove, clean and re loctite the bolts. The thread lock you've applied will have set by then so you'll break the seal when tightening. Some say it dont matter, me, I'd rather take an extra 10 minutes and not have my shocks fall off thanks very much!
Great video again, keep learning, stay safe.

Great vlog! Just bought shocks for my 883, same size. Think this is the right modification. Thnx for the instructions, the are great! 👍🏻

Came across a guy who took his shocks off and welded custom made steel bars to make it a hard tail. He said he liked the way it rode like that. To each his own.

I'm setting my expectations low in comfort as I said in the vlog - lol. I've had progressive 11 inch in the past on another sporty and I still remember that ride.

I'm guessing she doesn't call you donkey then !!
Glad to see you doing your own stuff, it's a dangerous and addictive thing to be involved in you will not be able to stop.
Next stage is your own project bike from the ground up, but continue to take the small steps you are doing and in a year or 2 take the plunge.
Like what your'e doing, hopefully it will inspire more of you youngsters to twirl the spanners on their own bikes.
