Thank you for keeping Pm2.5 in the news. Just because people don't like the news, doesn't mean it isn't relevant!
How can a government be so thick to re classify cannabis. Unbelievably dumb.
Keep up the good work on the Air pollution. Anyone who has lived in polluted air knows the harm that it does psychologically and physically. This is exactly what the government should be working on rather than crying about cannabis. The pollution should be treated with the upmost urgency as clean air is a human right.
Exactly, they're too busy now trying to get casinos and make more money for themselves.
👏 👏
Please keep talking about air pollution, I want to know and so do others .
Air pollution responsible for 29,000 deaths across 31 Thai provinces in 2021, how foreingiers want to live in Chiang mai is insane
I'm live in CM and have for the past 7 yrs. It's absolutely shit now. It's should be declared a disaster zone. I don't know how a person could get used to this!
What amazes me is that tourist come every year to CM
if its that bad as you say. why do you stay living THERE
Keep reporting about the air quality! It is important information!
Thanks for the report. Keep the air quality reports coming.
i can assure you living in Chiang Mai is a real pain at the moment. go outside and throat and lungs are burning.
When does this ease off ?
Please keep reporting air quality. It is important news.
was in Chiang mai for a few days recently. Couldn't wait to leave. Poor Thai people.
I live in Chiang Mai. The air is disgusting, particularly today. Right now 360+ AQI / 311.5µg/m3 at the station near me. Thanks for continuing to report it, despite Kevin's protesting!
Agreed, I live in Phetchabun where the air quality has been poor. I wonder if “Kev In” has an option to switch Tim’s news reporting off. Keep up the reporting please Tim.
Please take care of
@@timnewtontodaytaking care of those around me, got positive pressure systems installed at home and wife's office. But can't even really go outside for more than a few minutes right now. That and it's 40+ degrees every day right now!
Thanks, Tim, for the air quality report. It’s important for us tourists. Please ignore those people who don’t want to live in reality.
Great and informative Tim! Air quality is most certainly an issue so Kev can take a hike, cheers
You’re not a jerk, Mr. Tim. Sorry you endure haters, Thank you for filtering/interpreting news. Have a good day, sir.
I have lived in Chiang Mai for two years and the pollution is extremely bad, but does need to be reported on. Today (Wednesday) my numbers at home are in the 200’s. Along with good stories the bad also need to be reported on. Sorry Kevin, but the truth can sometimes hurt.
agree i was in Pai, Mae Hon Song this time last year and I didn't want to go outside. very depressing for somebody who loves to walk and jog outside. i went to the gym instead. one day i went for a hike up a big mountain and at the top i could only see about 100m. i will be thinking again about visiting the north in the dry season.
Thanks for your program, love it!
Thank you Tim 🙏🏼⭐️
Thanks Tim!
I can confirm from Chiang Rai that the air pollution has sadly got much worse over the last few weeks.
Take care
@@timnewtontoday Thank you 🙏
Thanks Tim 🎉
Thanks for the report!
Morning. Tim i thought that comment about your reporting the IQ air in Chiang Mia was out of order. He also call you a jerk as well, i found him to be a jerk, clueless on the situation. The Air Quality is important to know and needs highlighted and kept in the media, the health of the people who live in that area is at risk, Government needs address it . I live in Jomtien and do a 20k Run/swim/yoga every 2nd day and have found the air this year to worse than ever. We are luck compared to good people of Chiang Mai, so please continue to highlight the air Q and ignore the Jerk .
Was up in Chiang Mai recently and couldn’t spend much time outside - even opted to stay inside a mall for the middle of one particular day. Terrible that people have to suffer and ridiculous that there would be any moron who’d call it bullshit.
Like Tim said, is he living in Chiang Mai right now? Probably not.
@@heythave either way, doesn’t change my assessment of him.
Wasn’t the Swiss guy deported? His business was shutdown. He lost his home and his income and his visa was revoked. Does she think his punishment was too light? Man this thing was blown so far out of proportion, and here she is blowing more.
No deportation until he's had his day in court.

Thank you for daily weather updates.
I was in Bangkok the first two weeks in March. The pollution irritated my throat the second week. Slight coughing.
The congested Bangkok traffic is contributing to the problem.

Yeah, I was thinking about putting on a mask.
I spent a week in Chiang Mai at the end of February and ever since have suffered with a hacking cough. I have tried various remedies with no improvement.
Great show thanks
As a Chiang Mai resident. kevinthailand can take a long walk. It's awful up here today.
Hi my name is also kevin, and I do live in Chiang Mai. Yesterday was 104°f 40 degrees Celsius... On top of the air pollution problems. It is oppressive and dangerous I've felt sick for the last 3 weeks. Koh Samui next week
Sorry to hear :( Take care
@@timnewtontoday oh I'll survive! But thank you🤣👍
Chiang Mai definitely needs a beach. And a huge air purifier machine.

0.2 percent THC . That's ridiculous.😢
And it was always thus. Ridiculous. Yes.
Wow, doesn't take much to get PTSD these days.
I'm getting PTSD following this story 😂
Alright, next time someone sees you chilling at the beach, relaxing, not bothering anyone, and decides to kick you in the back, we'll see how long it takes you to get over it. Don't underestimate the brain's ability to give you false warnings forever after...
She seems to be stressed from the media exposure and how authorities are handling the case. Cases like this need to be resolved and concluded swiftly and fairly by the justice system so the victim's life can return to normal without delay. It is the slow justice system that will cause the woman months of anguish and trauma. The assault only took seconds.
@@russellgunther The assault may only take seconds, but you should never underestimate the breach of trust and the trauma that can cause. How often do you get attacked in a public setting where you normally felt safe? A car accident can cause a lifetime of trauma but only takes seconds. Ever had a gun put to your head? People need to stop diminishing what this asshole did.
@russellgunther nobody is diminishing but what is she aiming for? What would be justice for her ? If the situation would be the other way round (like Tim said) could a farang keep on claiming for weeks in the media?
Better check Kevins IQ, regarding the CM IQ air quality.
Where is the difference between the Swiss kicker and the Russian kicker?!?

Aqi is still news. It helps us in deciding where we travel to. Thanks for the daily update. Delayed our thailand trip until May.
😢first quarter of last year California made 570 million dollars from tax on cannabis that would solve all Thailand economic problems
Smoke- Its bad in CM today, wednesday
0.02% THC is virtually nothing. 15%+ is what people smoke. Money for economy when legal and money (big money) for pockets when illegal.
Thank you for your daily news program. For the bad smog I am in Phitsanluk and the smoke is worse this year than when i was here this time last year which was bad. For the last couple of days the smell of burning bush reminded me of the lingering smoke after the bad bush fires in Sydney in the 1990's and early 2000's. This morning the weather shows the AQI level is 162.
At 280, the AQI in Luang Prabang, Laos is terrible too.
How could you report Thai news, without mentioning the horrific air quality round Chiang Mai / China Rai???
I wear a gas mask while driving around Chiang mai. The city looks post apocalyptic from my balcony
Go south every year Tim and have done for several years due to poor air quality in San Pa Tong, it’s no joke !
Hello Tim. think you need to get your "blocking" pen active again. All good stories today.
I have a friend living in C Mai and is seriously thinking of leaving 😢

Hua Hin today air pollution today is 124

Mr. Tim, I do agree that any foreign workers should be registered and buy health insurance. And legal wherever they decide to go. None of that is easy.
How did a criminal whose case had been publicised on Crime-watch, a television programme in England, obtain a visa in Thailand?
Many come without a visa and illegal overstay. I know two Australian pedos, in 1995 were Australia’s most wanted, took off to Thailand and were never found again.
He very cunningly changed his name to Mr Smith.

You think he also had a 30 year passport? 😂😂

Haha….get out while you can…on a positive note…u can still open carry…lol
In my opinion the 0.2% mark is that under it would be legal ,which is low quality. Then above would need a prescription from a doctor and bought from a sanctioned dispensary. It is more than likely just tidying up around the edges of what they have started and limiting the amount of sellers and é regulated buyers.
0.2 is not low quality it’s non existent
I will become like the U.K. and America were you will need a medicard so look out for the explosion in quack doctors signing people off for weed
Cannabis comes in two types of plant, there is marijuana and hemp.Hemp is legally defined as having 0.3% or less of THC while marijuana averages at 15-30% THC.

Any news about extending the visa from 30 days to 90?
No
You have got Worcester wrong

Why doesn't the Thai government hold a bilateral meeting with the Myanmar leader to find solutions to cope with PM2.5 problems when crops are burning heavily on Myanmar’s border?
Cause the government has zero control in the north west. It’s almost all controlled by warlords and drug gangs who have their own set of rules and run it almost as an independent staye
The case against the swiss man has gone to far he not kicked that hard but loose all but a russia lady kick a pregnant lady in stomack just get a fine where is the justice?
I believe the russian women kicked the shopkeeper on the legs? Anyway, if she will be treated differently the reason is her victim is not a doctor.
To the Gentleman who disbelieves the facts about the air quality in Northern Thailand. Please understand that this is pretty normal every year. The trouble is as climate change progresses its going to get worse unless something is done about it. If you have any ideas I'm sure Tim would love to hear them!!
Ya ya, it's climate change that's making all those farmers burn their fields!
The Peter Smith / Richard Burrows story is absolutely mental. This guy was VERY WELL known amongst Phuket lifestyle media/business people. Seemed to be well liked and didn't shy away from having his photos taken. These new revelations are just shocking.

Hi Tim,
You mentioned the price of domestic flights recently. The return fare is not necessarily twice the single fare, at least as far as Vietjet is concerned. A single fare from CNX to BKK might be 2,660B but the return fare an additional 366B. I use this airline frequently and although their departure times are somewhat 'optimistic' they're pretty good.
Agreed ThaiVietjet I have found to be very efficient

If arrested and not yet been to Court he maintain he us innocent till proved guilty
Yes that us the law
But the other way round if arrested by general and his merry men
The law us then reversed to
Guilty till you can orove yourself innocent
And one should act the role as directed by the merry men film crew

I find it quite amazing that there are no Chinese cities on the air pollution lists you show. I have lived in China and the northern region in particularly are notorious for bad air (especially in the winter). I wonder if it has anything to do with the influence that China has over the world and the money they have to throw around. Beijing should be on that top 5 or 10 list in the winter months for sure.
