We loved that so much! Keith and Taka here. If you want to see our journey hanging out with amazing guys like Chris, we just started our TH-cam channel 🎉🎉 give us a looksie!
I love that back alley Issankaya restaurant ❤
Thong Lor is somewhat mysterious for tourists because the majority stays in touristy areas like Siam Nana Asoke etc
Glad you made this video, finally kinda understood what my friends who used to live there are saying!
Firsties! Those pupils tell me it was a good night for you! LOL
Many Leos?
Waaaaayyyy-stid 😊.
Thong Lor has the feel of the newer "modern" more cosmopolitan Bangkok. Just another side to a very cool city with a wealth of different experiences...
Stayed at Serene 57 in Thong Lor for a week. Perfect little condo about two blocks from the BTS. Ate breakfast at souffle & souffle pancakes cafe. Unfortunately, it shows that it is temporarily closed. It was my first experience with souffle pancakes. The fun part was watching the cook make the souffles. The Serene 57 was fully booked on my last visit to Bangkok. The neighborhood had a weird vibe to it. Part of old Bangkok meets new Bangkok. Some smaller bars on the side streets, and on the corner of Soi57 and Sukhumvit the were grilling lobsters. It was probably my most relaxing stay in all of Bangkok. The owner of several condos in the building was a lovely Thai lady in her early 40's. I got to meet her mom too. Just lovely people.
Stayed at Serene 57 a month earlier this year. Lek is a perfect hostess and the location can’t be beat. Reasonable price too.
Nice neighborhood!
The Japanese restaurant where you all started is a place I will visit on my next trip to Bangkok!
Food and place looked great! Super ambiance...Kudos to the owner...
Soooo much to see and do...
I've never visited that part of the city...
Love the nooks and crannies of the city...
The two young men are a fitting piece of the area IMO...
Young, ambitious, doing things...Two thumbs up to them both!
Super enjoyable episode, Chris...You're hitting it out of the ballpark!
🙏🙏🙏
👍😎👍
This is an awesome video. I’ve been living in Thon Lor for 18 days now. I watched a lot of your videos before I left the states.
Love you Chris Parker !!! Going to look up in August 2024 !!!
iCare Thailand sent me! Love what you’ve done with them!
Well that was a fun tour! Definitely going to Thong Lor now! Great bunch of guys!
Great vid, very informative as usual 👍🏼 keep up the great work !!
Nice guides to Thong lo, thanks you.
Good to highlight Thong Lor. There are so many cool night spots in Bangkok and 90% of the content in TH-cam is just Asok and Nana. Hope to see more videos like this one. Cheers.
The Commons oh yes ❤❤❤Thong Lor a lot!❤ any affordable condos there to buy?
Im born in Ekkamai Whattana so im an Ekkamai girl for life❤😂
Marchè is French for market so the è IS indeed pronounced like InterMarchè🫰awesome supermarket in France!
Good to know about the guys pod cast studio really nice set up❤
Thanks for the incredible “tour” of Thong Lo… definitely will check it out.
Excellent Chris, and good company! 🙂
Thank you for good video ❤
Great show Chris! Looks like a great time. Enjoy your day 😊!
As a Thai, Thong Lo is my favorite area in Bangkok. It’s such a vibrant and energetic there, also it’s a boujee society. The cafe, restaurant and club there is amazing
Chris
You are amazing x
You promote Thailand in an incredibly positive way x
Love thonglor/ekkamai....well in lads, good vid!
Can you pls do a vid on Ari, another top area in BKK? 😊
I was thinking of doing a video here!
Soi Ari is also a good area.
One of my fav areas of Bangkok and one I love to bring people to who are less familiar with the city and see their reactions - they are in awe at how vibrant, cosmopolitan, modern and cool it is.
best info of bkk ever saw on your channel.
I love Thonglor. Love the commons!
Moved from Ekkamai to Thong Lor an absolutely love it. I didn't know it it at the time, but apparently Thong Lor is the Beverly Hills/Rodeo Drive of Bangkok. There''s a nice Japanese restaurant on what I believe is Thong Lor 25
Love the videos going in June ur given me a great experience about Live in Bangkok thanks
you got the best life chris, I hope you wake up every day and realize you are living my dream and THE dream. Keep making videos to keep my wanderlust and love for thailand sated until I can join you in 10 years. (waiting on the retirement visa.)
Great video. Just wanted to let you know that I was just in Thailand like 1-2 weeks ago and tried your favorite pad krapao place in Raum Saab Market. Probably one of the best tasting pad krapao that I've ever had, at a very cheap price, and the amount was amazing as well (I could barely finish it). Thanks for the amazing recommendations. I'm definitely going to have to try more of the food stalls at Raum Saab Market the next time I go to Thailand.
Hello Chris, I bumped into you and Adam in a Northern Thai restaurant in Thong Lor Rd in December. Our family was staying nearby and really enjoyed it. Next time we visit we will try a different location but will be coming back to Thong Lor eventually.
Have a nice day.Chris.
Hi, friend, I like your information
Gotta love Chris top caner!
Hello Chris. Great interview. I just returned to the US and stayed near Thong Lor. It is a vibrant area and I will be returning in a few months.
This video is timed perfectly. I'm staying in Thong Lo in 2 weeks time 😂.
Thonglor is my favourite place to stay in Bangkok! Very cool, nice neighbourhoods and close enough to the big malls. Loads of Japanese around, too.
Great video. I live in Pattaya, but Bangkok is my escape on the weekends when it’s not so busy in BKK. Funny they talk about Sukhumvit 11, that’s usually where I stay, but now, thanks to your video I will probably venture out more check out Thong Lor too
Soi 11 NANA and Thonglor have completely different lifestyles. NANA is an African and Indian area, Nana has been a red light area for 60 years and remains so today. Thonglor is the opposite of Nana. Thonglor is a chic residential area. And here is known as Little Japan. Rich and famous people from Thailand come to Thonglor to eat and party. Thonglor does not have à gogo bar.
I live in thong lor. If you are a tourist, you must check it out for food, drinks, and nightlife. It is very family friendly. If you plan to live in thong lor bring your checkbook because it can be expensive.
Chris -- I also did Beast and Butter in Chiang Mai - loved it
Currently in Udonthani for a Buddhist home blessing ceremony tomorrow
I will post a video of the blessing afterwards
Amazing area, Thong Lor, its a very posh area, you can have a good time here,, great neighborhood to walk around, their are farmers Markets up the road.
Very few cheaper places to drink in the area. The Old English Pub next to the Thonglor BTS station is the only place that comes to mind.
They also do a great breakfast there.
Hi chriss i really love to watch ur video you are such an amazing man I m original from Laos and raise in Toronto now I m retired from Big three company hopefully some day I ll see you in Thailand
Love your videos man. 12 more hours to go. So want to meet up if possible.
Goood video nice vibe to bad Ilost it .... next time
I live in thong lo at park origin condo. I like it so many places to explore.
Thanks for the video, I agree this area is the best if you like fancy life style
Japanese Isan food, hmm okay I will go there next time
Nice insights. Thanks for sharing. Let's get a thong lor condos for rent video going.
Wonderful introduction to Thong lor! And great interviews. I do have one question. Is it common (or uncommon) for bars in this neighborhood to offer some kind of “happy hour” pricing?
Thanks again for another great video!
Nice area bro 😊
Big sacrifice to make this video. Thanks buddy😂❤
Great video and a great place to live it looks like. But I looked in the condos in that area and they are priced much higher than other places in Bangkok. It seems like a good place to visit.
My Home!
have stayed in thong lor several times..... great restaurants . bars..... you definitely feel the area is what my Thai friends call high so(society) with a mix of foreigners. I am keen to stay in a different area on my next visit but it is hard to avoid thong lor!
Nice discovery Chris. Looks like a cool neighborhood. See ya for shots.
Wow Chris! This is the THIRD time that I've seen you drop your "family friendly" persona. Is this the start of something different or is it really the beer talking??? 😂😂😂
Can’t go to Thong Lo area without swinging by the Burger Box on Thong Lo Soi 13!

You hammered, high or both in this video?😂😂😂😂❤
I was looking for this comment. 😁🤓🤫👍
Had a fun night 😉
Drunk and slurring in so many of his videos
Night life around Thonglor is one of the best part.Ari is more clam and best in daytime.
Thong Lor, inebriated edition.
My husband and I planning to visit Bangkok in June. Should we get Airbnb or hotel?
Good morning Chris, are you aware of Chiropractic services in Thailand? Where does a an expat (or Thai) go to get the occasional adjustment? Thanks.
ทองหล่อ (Gold Handsome) 🤭
Chris had a few Changs before making this vid...me thinks 😜
I think you will miss the restaurant scene when you move to the islands. Obviously they will have restaurants and different options because it’s a tourist location. It still won’t come close to BKK
Hello 🙆♀️
That Japanese isan restaurant. My friend is the owner. 5555
Looks very hip and cosmopolitan makes me want to move there.😅
The voice 😂😂
Hom Duan Ekkami is simply the best Khao Soi I've ever had, even including Chiang Mai. Nice to see it get a shout out here. The Khun Yai is such a hard working, nice lady.
What ?! No way! That place’s khao soi is highly disappointing and expensive. It’s literally at the bottom of my khao soi list..
Good stuff. I’m in Thong Lo most days, in Choo Choo hemp opposite Samitivej hospital. My favourite place in Bangkok.
Rewind aboot 6 or 7 Leos. 😎
Q; are there any fun rooftop DJ scene nearby?
Two rooftop bars right across from each other. One at the Marriott and one in the T-One building. You’ll need to make reservations at both.
Whats the name of the secret bar with ATMs in front he mentioned?
I don't know the name of it, but it's right by the 7-11 on the corner of Thonglor Soi 20. You can't miss it. Just a white wall with some obviously fake ATMs on it.
@@mythai05 Thank you 🙏
A cool one is called the Locker Room, right across from Thong Lo Soi 13. It’s well hidden.
So, here's the real question: how much are 1br condos in the area? Any nice places within stumbling distance?
What I don't like about Thonglor is the traffic / the time it takes to / from Sukhumvit at certain times. This will likely change when they finally build the BMA Grey Line monorail (described on Wikipedia, construction ca. 2026-2030).
Good video. But drop the “R”.
Chris I`ll be arriving in Bangkok on the 19th. Let me know if you are free for a beer and bring your Nephew also.
Yeah bring heylee also
@@user-jq8ug4rw6b :) Roger that.
Could you make a video of a Muslim neighborhoods in Bangkok where they have a lot of halal food options perhaps?
So, basically, Thong lor is like Greenwich Village circa 1963?
Please don't compare our lovely city to anything Bangkok. It's insulting! TL is dressed up but at the core very basic with inflated prices. I've seen better restaurants in bar around the city in other neighbors.
Bro looks 3 sheets into the wind...Lol. Enjoy lol.
Lol the Japanese dude didn't know how to convey himself properly. He coulda just said because Japanese people own it the standards would be higher from a Japanese perspective as it's Japanese food. Vs. saying that Japanese people just have higher standards than Thai people in general which is pretty fucked up
Chris we’re in Bangkok 🎉 where are you at!! Come to Khao San Road, tonight please ❤❤
from america 😅
Imported 😂
😅
Lmao, we're hanging out soon brother
Oh he drunk 😂
Yah know, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Chris actually reply to any comments. Is it just me?? I’ve had replies on many other videos!
Not his TH-cam style unless the comment is super spicy or a huge compliment.
@chris: Dude, you're completely ignoring ever subtle guiding pronunciation cue from these guys, the "r" is silent! Actually, you know this, Thai doesn't really have an "r" sound..
love you brother!
He's never gonna change! I hate the way he announces Songkran😂
Rian, to study. Thai's pronounce the 'r'.
@@KIR23679 I think it's a Canadian thing? Although I'm a Californian so I'm sure many would question my accent/knowledge base? Legend all the same gotta love all that is the Chris:)

Just a friendly reminder that it's illegal to ride on the back of a motorcycle drunk in Thailand. If you have an accident, you will be responsible for the crash because you are drunk.
responsible because he's white! Now let's try implementing the same rules with the actual MB riders drunk/high daily and regular citizens. Is it the same law for riding in the back of a taxi drunk?
Can i get their Ig fron thonglo?
Chinese are now getting their Karma don't worry kha❤
Looks fun but Sounds to me like Thong Lor is a pretty expensive district more aimed for expats and the remark of one of them that it doesent really feel like Thailand is not very appealing either.
Please use your brain. TL was here before Expats came along. It's like any other place. If you can afford it go. If you can't afford find somewhere else.
Think your pissed mate
I live in Thonglor- you didn’t begin to give it justice. You spent so much time talking about Japanese restaurants and didn’t even mention the many other types of cuisine. This is the poorest of your videos… you should make another comprehensive video; sober and researched.
I was highly disappointed with Hom Duan .
Thong Lor has so much more to offer then presented in this company commercial. There is much more then japanese food and places with drunk foreigners. Its still Thailand.
Like Hom Duan the Northern Thai restaurant mentioned and Era Izaan, the Isaan restaurant mentioned
@@keithbaird go to the North to eat northern food and go to Japan/Isaan to eat japanese/isaan food.
Not cool. Talking about other businesses with the owner. He looked really uncomfortable. Otherwise good video.
I was thinking the same thing
@@sthardmanwow! Bangkok has you now. Grow a pair!
@@KIR23679 you have never and will never have a pair of their own. Sad but we can see why
well if you earn money
Clear, what the problem in Thai kitchen is ... the immense meat consumption everywhere in Thailand. Will never understand that.
i love thong lor, everything is a bit cheaper, yet only 1 stop away from terminal 21
