My personal theory is that mr.fantastik was just a close friend of DOOM. I think he just wanted a chance to spit and DOOM gave him one and it was legendary
The name would support that theory. Nobodies gonna pick an MC name directly related to another’s like that if they’re gonna stick with it
This the most realistic theory Imo
same
I mean it's basically what doom said everyone just wants to figure out who he is
@@jonathanmikarui8931 i thought that was made clear from the way he introduced himself in his first song appearance on anti-matter. he goes
"It's showtime, nihha
King Geedorah on the boards (King Geedorah), MF DOOM
And I am Mister Fantastik"
and then he does a little laugh after hesitantly introducing himself. as in "ye whatever, im mr fantastic, thats what i just came up with after reading out "DOOM" "
Maybe mr fantastik is the friends we made along the way
Maybe Mr Fantastik is the funny comments we see along the way.
You tried
what 😭
this truly has been a mr. fantastik
My theory is, this is just DOOM's friend who laid a couple rhymes and is also a street dude who chooses to not be pictured or identified as well, at least that what the bio for the instagram account states.
What’s the insta?
Right? Doom wasn't being mysterious in that interview, he straight up told everyone who the guy is. Just a dude from back in the day.
they’re probably just friends and dude wanted to show off his skills without having to deal with all the fame and whatnot, respect it completely.
They knew better than to snitch and say who Mr Fantastik is, they heard the feature
Since DOOM has passed if he didn’t want the identity of Mr Fantastic to be revealed we’ll never know
"On Doomsday, ever since the womb til i'm back where my brother went, that's what my tomb'll say. Right above my government, Dumile." Always wondered how folks took so long to find Doom's identity when he straight up said it in one of his most popular tracks
i think cus people thought he said doom will lay
@@BeanBurrito3751nope, just you
@@Handysides Honestly, I thought it said Doom will lay as well. Kinda a cool double entendre within his name.
ALL CAPS RIP MFDOOM
Doom will lay * its a double entendre … it being cryptic is the point 💪.
I love how he pays homage to the fantastic 4 in his career by naming his friends as them
If you listen to any slightly underground or local hip-hop, during the 90s, it was super common for there to be a fire verse by some random that nobody ever heard of before or since
Mr Fantastik is the Dark Souls of mysterious rappers
Yo that game was da bomb
What 😂
@@mashedpotatos3750play that shit it's a masterpiece
@@LittleLunaXD It's truly the Dark Souls of video games
And the hidden earl X alchemist album is the dark souls of albums
Here’s another one. Jimmy Ray. He made one album in 1997 and mysteriously disappeared for 20 years just to create a new album, and then he disappeared again. And nobody seems to acknowledge him.
Who wants to know?
7:40 "Those hooks changed my life, man..." LOL
DOOM Folklore. This man created a comic book for us to unfold wit shit that keep on popping up and we didn’t even know it lol
He spit on 2 fire DOOM songs and then vanished. The definition of a villain.
Rap snitch knishes Is by far one of my favorite MF DOOM tracks ever.
Mr. Fantastik is probably in the drug game, he avoided the rap game to not end up being his own star witness.
Pretty much the feeling I got! Different era, people still knew how to keep quiet back in them days, not everyone, but some 😆
Yeah I figured he was a real drug dealer who was satisfied getting one or two stellar verses in.
@@Watchingvideoslikeu Yup, like he let motherfuckers know what it was and was cool with that 😆 plus you have to think he was friends with doom, so he probably heard what the music business is actually like and probably said fuck it... I know I'm reaching l, but just a guess...
Arms dealer
"I first met Mr.Fantastik at an arms deal"
Dude may be in the black market
how did I miss that lol
For anyone interested there is a third doom and fantastik track with a madlib beat but it's unreleased. Don't think It has a title just look it up.
Maybe it was all a idea from DOOM and Mr. Fantastik is just a random friend from DOOM who rapped for him and had DOOM write his lyrics.
I typed this before the 9 minute mark😂
That was always my thought. Given Doom's penchant for different personas, it's possible he just wanted a few to have different sounds.
Its probably the same ordeal with Pebbles The Invisible Girl who sang on Doomsday and The Mic
i love how much research he does on these videos it’s actually really impressive and leads too some really entertaining videos. also we need a full doom deep dive next
That clip you just played on IG, 100% sounds like him.
"Rap snitches telling all they business, sitting in court they be their own star witness. Did you see the perpetrator, yeah I'm right here" 🙋♂️
Best track on the album
Same cadence and flow, and it’s not even trying to sound like fantastik, he’s just rapping. I could definitely believe it’s him
@@shiftz7532 100% the exact same cadence and flow.
@@NoNameNomad.... you can hear in his voice he’s rapping for doom, not just cuz he wanna rap. Further goes into the theory that he just wanted to spit a few and leave.
I got weird déjà vu from this video. I swear I watched this before.
Same I've heard all of this before
I’ve read all of this before
ive talked ab it before i just tried 2 go more in depth
bruh me too
@@mattyballzbro you gotta delete that so that this comment sounds dark and mysterious
Actually it was pretty common in the 90ies and 2000s that some rappers appeared on only a few features and then completely disappeared. A lot of times it was just some dude that was known in the local neighborhood, person that got signed and things didn't work out, etc.A great example is Deda, who recorded 2 tracks as a feature in 92 and 94 with Pete Rock and CL Smooth. He was as feature on another track in 96 with Saddat X that was it. In 2003 Pete Rock released a full album of him that was recorded in 1995, but wasn't released back then due to some dispute with the label. Since Inetnet, Scoial Media and recording music in general wasn't as easy and accessible as it is today, a lot of artists just became invincible if things went south.
Oh this vid is about to be 🔥🔥 I knew as soon as I saw the title I knew it was gonna be Mr Fantastik lmao. I hope you feel better soon bro!! Great work as always
Great video man🤘🏽
There's plenty of people from NYC now in their 40s/50s who recorded a couple rap songs and called it a career. Not everybody who rapped was trying to get paid.
But if you guys really want to know the answer to this: has anybody bothered asking Lord Scotch aka keo?
The crazy part of Mr. Fantastik is that there’s people out there who can be as talented as him, and we have no idea.
That instagram account has very similar annunciation and flow. It’s probably him.
Good on him. Dude’s a legend.
always dope videos
Your content is super awesome dude. Love everything that I have seen. Thank you kindly for your hard work
Thank you for watching!
really cool well done concept for a video !
This honestly makes me think of Wangsta, Demon Child, and Gangsta Mac. Just not a lot of people really care about any of them.
Apparently demon child and Wangsta just kinda disappeared while gangsta Mac went to jail.
ballz🥶
Great, another video on mr fantastik that rehashes the exact same information.
He recently did a live stream or a video on Instagram. He was paying tribute to DOOM.
Uploaded 2 minutes ago, wild, early af
He was definitely a drug dealer that wanted to stay low key. The comic book character is genius level intellect who was a chemist
“Met him at an arms deal” besides the double or triple entendre(Mr fantastik stretches) I think he may have literally just been selling him guns. Definitely a good theory as to why he would want to stay low, and he moved to Atlanta and had money. Probably how he got his money, if he paying for doom he probably had it.
Crazy i found this while listening to mm..food😂
another new mattybraps upload🔥
Get well soon bro✊🏾
Original bit of content love it
Close but I'm not hiding that far... thanks for making this
His name is pure mathematics he grew up in NY with doom and subroc
yeah it was in plain sight all along
I hear hes quite Boombastic
matty dropped yall
That man is a legend in the hip hop universe
yuh we got another upload
Glorb is kinda mysterious
get well soon Mr Ballz
thanks localmansopinion
Imagine being born of the spam of a mattyballz video
you gotta do a video on capital steez
I'm sick too, buddy.
@mattyballz Every time I think.of Mr Fantastik I reference Ghostface's song on the Ironman album Daytona 500. The bar he spits about "I'm Iron Man, no die-cast metal, I'm steel-alloy
True identity hidden inside secret tabloids" . because Mr Fantastik's identity is a true mystery
11:20 that mural of DOOM is @ Little 5 Points in ATL right next to one of John Lewis.
At 5:19 I have the vinyl to the album it is recently been bought..
3:12 "I met Mr. Fantastik at an arms deal" is a triple entendre
The literal meaning.
The superhero, known to stretch his arms (Victor von doom being his enemy also an alter ego of doom)
Doom is snitching and they have a song called rap snitch knishes
I’m a little proud of myself for guessing this was about mr fantastik before I clicked lol
Oh shit. YOD and Mr. Fantastik would be dope af.
29 views in 2 minutes bro rised up
He let us know the first line of his verse “type profile low”
I clicked on it and before it played i was like this has gotta be Mr Fantastik
Not knowing is key to completing the puzzle tho!! It was designed for speculation makes it fun and mysterious
I was a fan of DOOM and once i saw the thumbnail i knew he was gonna be talking about Mr fantastik.
Fantastic been around since kmd
When I firzt hear Mr. Fantastik, for some reason, my brain went immediately to Biggie Cheese from the Barnyard movie XD
He began making music again in 2013 and since released 5 albums
I think Mr.Fantastik is the friends we made along the way…
the moment I saw the thumbnail I knew it was Fantastik
Its a local legend that tommy gun and mr fantasitik were dooms boys growing up in long beach so that last freestyle and reddit post make complete sense
He goes by A New Name ...Mr.Nobody ....bro Really didn't want to be Discovered .
I think it might of been a close friend who just wanted to give rap a try and came out with some fire verses
He posted recently on Spotify
Dude that pebbles girl has the same story oh wait yiu just mentioned it
‘I first met Mr Fantastik at a arms deal’
Slang for probably met dude as a young in, drug deal on the playground type ish
Wow that crazy
Mr fantastic does production under various aka on the subaux hall of meat album
I used to think Ransom was Mr Fantastik
Man, I fucking knew it when I saw the date.
he’s on instagram now. he posted a video about DOOM
Idk, would it be sick for Mr. Fantastik to drop an album dedicated to doom?
are we sure he isnt stuck in ice somewhere with his flying bison?
Bro can just come out now and literally kickstart a career because of all the fame behind his absence and mystery
take a shot for every time Matty says "Mr Fantastik"
If Droog says he has a song with him, I believe it.
Thanks for the vid even tho ur sick. DOOM & fantastik are the fucking goat
I always thought it was Del.
pretty sure it was made clear in the past that he was just a friend of doom and rapping wasnt really his whole thing that he wanted to make a career and that hes j trying to live a normal private life.
Take a shot every time he said mr. fantastik
Dude sound like the Battle Rapper B-Magic
I wanna give a quick random thanks to Quasimodo for carrying me through throughout the 2000’s underground rap scene. And RIP to J Dilla
After watching that bass d clip, I think it’s definitely him 😂, dude lowkey trying to hold back a smile
Wasn’t just Mr Fantastik MF DOOM?
They call him Mr bombastic, he is truly Fantastik 😊
Why did I think this vidoe was gonna be about Roscoe Dash 😂😂
He has a ton of music out
I always wondered if Mr.Fantastik was just MF Doom pitched down in the studio and rapping in a different style 🤔
Well considering Fantastik is still on IG, I’d say no.
MF = Mr. Fantastic
It’s probably me just tripping, but the person doing the tribute freestyle sounds like “substantial”.
Compare this freestyle to Substantials verse on the song “City Light” by Nujabes….
Imagine if it was just DOOM using a voice changer
woah first waddup
🤡
Did anyone check Puff Diddler's basement? He might be in one of the locked bedrooms.
It’s me
MF just made his own universe. It was a trip some times
