Elena Kuschnerova is one of our finest living pianists. Everything she plays is at the highest level - musically, technically, and spiritually. Her Bach, in particular, is a uniquely wonderful experience.

I noticed that yesterday - first time I have heard her - playing c mol prelude and fugue WTK - several more after that.
Somehow struck me that she played as Bach himself might have done.
I’ll have to check and see if she plays Handel’s keyboard suites - she appears to have exactly the right spirit for them.

What a great rendition of Bach!
We are so fortunate to be able to enjoy such eloquent playing as this. So sad that JSB himself is not here to share. I think he would have revelled in the modern era. How could someone who composed such pieces as he did for the organ not have loved the modern piano?

Elegance, fine diction, a sense of modesty before majesty, capturing Bach's seemingly easy, but not slight, switch of pace, tune and rhythm, with those enlivening riffs, trills and asides, all of which endure with such vibrancy for ever.
