We always build a garage at least 30 feet deep because my husband likes long box pickups. We also do 18’ doors because we hate dealing with only inches of space on either side.

It is so helpful to visually see the processes you have gone through and a huge key is getting to hear your thought process of how and why you did something that turned out well, and the things that perhaps didn't and what you might do different. I'm still watching countless videos and just getting a feel for how people tend to lay things out. I'm completely clueless and trying to just draw up my plans is a nightmare 😬 but thankfully you just confirmed my garage size. I'm going 24 x 36 3 car garage, but I'm only driving a Sonata and a Ford explorer is the largest vehicle, so size isn't an issue.

Most new homes and garages are meant to fit a subcompact. With a lot of people driving at least a mid size SUV, you will not have the space unless you like dinging your doors when getting in and out. We put a slightly oversized 17' wide two car door on ours to allow easier pulling in and out. Then add in for any items, shelving, etc.. you will want to put in there.

You didn't show the door swing on the truck!
Once you open those doors, do you have any room on the sides for any storage?
Will the doors hit everything?
Can someone squeeze in/out with that little amount of clearance? Kids grow up, not down....they only get bigger with time.
Who drives in forwards? Always back in. That way you have a quick exit in the morning.

For some reason I can't explain 90% of garages built in America are like 20x20 with 7ft. doors and 90% of Americans seem to drive the truck in this video.

i need that exact size garage door (not the ones u mentioned the actual ones u correct) where did u purchase the door?
How high is the interior ceiling?
My doors are also 9’ tall, what door opener do you have that works with 9’ tall doors?
@Farmer’sWife if it’s not to much trouble could you measure the width of the center divider from outside also how tall is the garages interior ceiling?
The center divider is a 2' section of wall plus the pieces of trim totaling 26". The interior ceiling height is 124".
