Yellow Fever has 4 Phases : Febrile (undifferentiated fever), Haemorrhagic Fever/Severe (haemorrhagic fever symptoms like bleeding), Intoxication (destruction of liver leads to various disturbences through the body), and Recovery. Not everyone goes through all 4 phases much like its sister dengue some people jump from Febrile to Recovery other briefly enter the Haemorrhagic Fever Phase, the Intoxication phase is most lethal usually preceded by appearence of recovery and then all of a sudden it appears like the haemorrhagic phase is back but much more severe.

Air with saliva is because small droplets get spat out as people talk/breathe/cough etc. so other people breathe them in, increasing transmission rate. Especially in planes where the air is recycled to a degree to maintain cabin pressure.
Just a note here, in the news ticker it does list two different vaccines. 17D is referenced specifically but it also lists just a generic vaccine so both vaccine abilities do reference different ones.
