Imagine, my wife - neither technical nor car enthusiast - we are both non-native English speaker - watched every episode with Edd China. Most of them what he said, we did not or we still can’t understand. The very best thing about his fantastic work was his saying "job done!" after he had done or successfully completed intermediate steps. He made a lot of things look fascinatingly simple. A very likely genius in our eyes. My wife would love to have Edd as a neighbour. Well, whether that's absolutely necessary to have Edd as neighbour for my wife?
Perfect ..just perfect. I had a 500sl from France with Zender Body kit and was lowered. Only car I miss and I had some legends.

Mercedes SL are always highly collectible cars, but a 560 SL is a class of its own! They all came complete with full options, in fact the only thing to be ordered were heated front seats! The M 117 E 56 engine however, had a lower compression ratio in the R 107 than the ones put in 560 Limousines or Coupes! So it lost a few horses! It is highly advisable to get rid of the sealed beam lights and the bumpers, and though I always advocat originality I have to admit that these LORINSER Wheels are a perfect match to the lines of this SL! And wheels do no permanent change to any vehicle, since they can be swapped in an instant! And by the way, the original wheels (so called 15 hole design) are still being manufactured and available through OTTO FUCHS KG, MEINERZHAGEN, GERMANY! CHEERS!

@Bizcar Pro Likely. New injectors are far from perfect. Always need to check them. Especially considering they have likely been on a shelf for 20 plus years in some circumstances. Can't believe this was there example of a new one.
I love this type of Mercedes in this color as a daily driver. When I win the lottery i'm buying one.
Would be nice if a supplier list was included for body work, suspension and wheels.

I'm doing a restoration on my 1982 SL380. It's Signal Red with tan interior. I went with new AMG wheels and going with Euro bumpers and headlights.
I love the SL ; that's why I own three (so far).
I have an 89 SL and have thought about making the Euro bumper conversion. Can you recommend a source?
Don't know what's so wrong with the wheel arch spats or the US bumpers which I believe have shock absorbers. It looks good both with and without them. I've started watching this episode from the beginning and Ed suggests doing a Chrysler LeBaron instead of *another* Mercedes and I totally agree with him. I love this show but it completely pi**ed me off when they went over to America and did mostly European or Japanese cars, I mean, what was the point in going there? They have some of the most gorgeous cars ever made over there, well they did, in America's golden age of Detroit metal.
The wheel arch chrome on an R107 is ridiculous and banal and this car never came with that kitsch. You may call those wheel arch attachments either rust concealers or rust generators. There is already enough chrome on the car. The big balcony like bumpers in the States were installed to comply to the US 5mph crash no deformation rule, I guess the designers in Germany disliked very much to put them on.

I can't see why you could not produce a series back in the UK with edd & mike again with the old style format and then onto the USA with mike & ant with the new format switching back & forth,then everybody will be happy.

1 Edd hour ≈ 4 man hours.
Edd can do mechanicals, bodywork, electrics, AC and even upholstery. You'll need 4 guys to do all this in real life, all at $ per hour.

Only reason Mercedes put in those round lights in the states was US vehicle laws. It's original design is with European lights.

$500 for 8 injectors is absolutely extortion!! You can buy those exact injectors on eBay for £22 each,thats £176. Then the seals are about 80 ,so 256 all in. So that's about 338 dollars.

The Euro headlights was part of the original design of this car.

From Dallas to Stuttgart. Nothing Beverly Hills about it. But if one is honest the Dallas look was the original look. Not the nicest, granted , but originality does matter because that is how this car was intended to look, like it or not. But of course it does look better, but it IS a face lift.
The original look is the euro version. Its the way the car was designed.
