    To those bitching about transwomen often not having a "completely feminine voice," do you realize how goddamn hard it is to change your entire vocal tone?

      still doesn't change the fact it sounds like a man trying to speak like a woman

    So sorry that your mom is so unaccepting of it, the worst thing in the world is feeling like you're disappointing your parents. Its disgusting how some parents don't let their kids be who they are, and I'm sorry you have to deal with that.

    • @phlower5249
      @phlower5249 9 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +kelsey carreiro I just find people such as yourself disgusting because you're encouraging this behavior. Over 50% of post-operation transgenders commit suicide. That is because putting male hormones in a female body or vice-versa is not how the body is meant to function.
      Encouraging this is essentially encouraging suicide. You're disgusting and so are all the other people trying to make this normal.

    • @kelseygirl1231
      @kelseygirl1231 9 ปีที่แล้ว +77

      +Phlower you have a lot of nerve to tell me I'M disgusting. Transphobic, gross people like YOU are the reason they commit suicide. Their choice to be the person they are is NOT the reason they choose to end their life, it's awful people such as yourself giving them backlash for it. Don't try to use a backhanded statistic to prove an invalidated point. And no, accepting what and who someone wants to be, because it's literally none of my business, is NOT encouraging suicide.

      +deviija So, she acknowledged the bouncer was making stupid jokes about EVERYONE's name, but it wasn't okay for him to do it to her? She had a male name on her identification. I'd like to think he realized and didn't want to inform everyone that she was transgender. So, even if it was a small jab, that situation could have played out a completely different way.

    I totally get having to reintroduce yourself, it is so annoying. A year after I started transition and was living full time and had started HRT and bought my new wardrobe, and got everything down my family had a Family reunion at my great uncle's estate. I arrived an hour late because I had to help my friend with something and I walked in and I knew everyone, my family is huge, but everyone is note worthy (if you know what I mean). So I walked in all done up and everyone stared. Not because they were taking the new me in, but because everyone thought I was trespassing on private property. I was asked to leave my own family reunion. I had to explain that I was Eric's daughter (Eric is my dad) and they're all, "No sweetie Eric has a son..." and I'm like "Not anymore...". Long story short my dad had to gather everyone to explain that the strange girl in the red dress was indeed his daughter Alice, not a trespasser... It was SUPER embarrassing. But after that everyone was friendly and asked me about my transition and stuff. A funny story to retell :)

    Hey, don't sweat your voice. I have a girlfriend who has had a husky voice her entire life. She sounds the same as you do. When she was born her umbilical cord was wrapped around her throat and she had some scar tissue that caused the deeper tone. You don't need to defend your voice, just let it ride!!!

      But I hope her mum will learn in time, my mum had some troubles adjusting her beliefs according to my sexuality, but she keeps learning about new things and I keep correcting her every time she says something funny (never anything mean though, she just doesn't know any better).

The language is Finnish, and if you want to say, for example: "She/he went to the grocery store" you just say "Hän meni kauppaan" and you can't tell if it's a man or a woman or something in between.

    hi Maya! Don't remember how i ended up watching this video, but i wanna thank you because my exbf kicked me out of his life xD but the shitty part's that i can't sleep and have been having constant problems to go to sleep too.
    i'm currently living in another country other than my own one so it sucks because it feels really lonely. watching this vid, altough i know those are experiences you haven't enjoyed at all probably... you seem to just had gone over those situations, enough to just being able to face them with humor. i tend to face life problems the same way you do, except for the moment i'm now... because it still sucks and hurts more than anything, but your vid kindda made me feel like i wasn't lonely and u made laugh out of common problems (embarrassing moments for the most part, very sad and dissappointing moments with family members, etc. too).
    So now i can go to sleep... thnx to you in a weird way....so i wanna thank you, i really enjoyed your video, except where the part when your mom told that to the ticket lady at the fair. can't imagine how you felt.... :(
    i also watch your transformation video, i loved it and i'm really glad you finally get to be the real you. :) to me those are fairy tales that finally become true.

      LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY TO WHAT Jeremiah Babe said 4 weeks ago on his TH-cam channel .....
      He said, "The prices of GOLD and SILVER are manipulated !"
      *Now, I want you all to think carefully about the logical conclusion here.
      The evil elitist that manipulate the prices of Gold & Silver can make a new law that says you can't "buy or sell" with Gold, Silver or Cash.
      Their new form of "money" will be a computer chip in your "right hand or forehead" that can be scanned just like your bank debit cards at all stores.
      How many of you have 7 years of food stored up in your houses or in your appartments or on your property ?
      Why would anybody invest or put their trust in Gold & Silver that is manipulated by very evil people ?
      Question, how many of you will be willing to trade your guns and ammo in for food and medicines?
      How many are going to let themselves and their family members go hungry to the point of starvation by NOT accepting the new 666 "beast" money system ?
      How many of you will allow yourselves or family members suffer with an injury because you refuse to have the injury treated at your local walk-in clinic or hospital that only accepts a computer chip in the "right hand or forehead" ?
      "Shall the throne of iniquity have fellowship with thee, which frameth mischief by a law?
      They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood."

    Why do people put so much effort in trying to tell transgenders they are not ''natural'' or ''normal''? What is the point? Do you want to give somebody a bad day and is this maybe, just maybe, YOUR issue and not theirs??
    Stop. Ask yourself why you feel the need to say stuff like that and what your intentions are. Ask yourself why you are so offended by somebody doing what they can to be their true selves. Arguments like it's not ''natural'' or ''normal'' are invalid as fuck and in no way going to justify the fact that you're just being very shitty and nothing else. Go outside and pet a puppy or something.

      +Raygirl50 I'd like to add some of the "not natural" comments are stupid and hurtful to unintended targets as well. I've heard comments like "Can you have a baby? Or a period? Guess your a guy then get over it!". Only to have a genetic female nearby that can't have children nearby burst into tears or uterine cancer victim feel like crap. Personally I'd think someone working very hard to be a gender who admires it a lot would be more welcome than a lazy, stupid, idiot that takes it for granted. But then again the world doesn't always make sense. Oh and I also like the "What are you stupid? You have a penis your a male. You have a vagina your a female, I mean that's how it's defined in the freaking dictionary." You mean the book started by Noah Webster, the priest, in colonial times? I'm sure he was an expert on sex, transfolk, genetic abnormalities, hormonal abnormalities, and knew many dual sexed people. Wait. That's right, he wasn't an expert. In fact, he was talking out of his ass.

      It’s difficult to change your way of thinking as a parent. When your born as a boy or girl to change the process of thinking after more than 20 years. But in reality u can change your body parts and some chemistry to transition but in true reality you DNA is what your born with. You can not change that but you can change your appearance to what ever you like. you just need to love who you chose to be. And respect the others too about there thought and feelings about there choices on how to view you. as it’s your choice to chose who u want to be. A parent should not have to change there name for you as most kids names are picked with allot of thought. So parents should call you buy the name they chose and you can introduce your self as who you have become out of respect for both sides I see mya and a woman I followed her as a male to female so for me she is a she but to her parents she is a he and that’s there rights too. Respect should work both ways I see to many trans gender trashing the family for not calling them by there self chosen name. But what about the feeling of the parents they should be consider too… so mine and my wife chose a nick name.for out daughter trying to be trans with out surgery and changing her name way too many times ❤😊

      Rather than wanting to insult her as "male and unpassable" I think he was covertly joking about her ID having a male name on it,

    My (slightly) embarrassing story: I came out on a whim in a conversation with my friend and her fiance. We were discussing the inclusion of gender identity and sexual diversity as part of the Canadian sex-ed/health curriculum. He was against it and me and my friend (who is a teacher) was for it. He seemed set in his mindset and obviously was ignorant to LGBTQ issues. He said something about how transgender people look, going off on a tangent about guys in dresses and what not (bordering on homophobic, I thought). I was getting a little irritated and said "I'm transgender". He stopped, looked at me and then said "Bullshit." And I thought to myself "why? Because I don't dress like a man?" (I'm agender btw, but am physically female). I hadn't come out to my friend, either, and it was a slip of the tongue, so I just laughed it off. But what I really wanted to say was that he was obviously ignorant on the subject, that you can't tell someone's gender by their appearance, and that he should stop being a bigot. For my friends sake, I kept my mouth shut. I didn't want to make things awkward for her.

    For almost 10 years I was a camera operator for the local television station in my city, so you sometimes come accross people from your past.
    I have never been in detention and most definitely have never had an overall bad reputation among teachers (exactly the opposite, actually), but probably because I was part of an identical twin that next to young looking was also a good amount shorter than most other children in that particular high school people remembered us well.
    In 2019 I made a video report about an education- and workforce presentation that was held in my city and that had all high schools chime in for advice on what education to start in high school to be eligible to enter some of the training programs on display at the venue there, and interviewed the head of the board that took the initiative for the whole presentation.
    This person was my dean in high school (and he has not changed a lot in his face, so I instantly recognized him) so upon introducing myself and explain what the goal was for the video-interview, I first went "I recognize you from high school, so I know who you are, hi!" and immediately after that he went "Oh oh! One of the two guys called [my last name]!" and saw him thinking for a couple of seconds and was able to remember my brother's name and my old name, and I explained what had happened since.
    The simple fact though that 15 years after leaving high school he basically instantly was able to remember my last name and after thinking some more made him able to remember my first name felt quite astonishing, even though it was a little weird for the reporter who was with me to encounter (my voice gives me away instantly, but still, that conversation weirded him out).

    What the bouncer did for you was actually really considerate in my opinion! Wow
    Not many people are really used to or comfortable with addressing all things "transgendered". He thought before he spoke when he could've made a really awkward situation for you and ruined your whole night on accident

    So, funny story, I'm a trans guy (1 month on T) and I used to run a comic book club. After I graduated, I came back to visit them and see how they were going since the new president of the club is a good friend of mine. This friend's mom was nice enough to drive me home and she asked if I was excited about freshman year of high school... I'm almost 20 lmao

    Maya, although I'm "cisgender" or whatever, I often had my peers ridicule my voice for being "manly" I use to try really hard to have a higher pitch or make it seem more feminine, but a few years ago I met this girl with the same issue I had and she told me she stopped caring what people thought about her voice. she said life is easier when others opinions stop keeping you up at night. you're so beautiful, and your message is powerful, let your voice be heard .
    much love,

    People can sometimes be rough. It is hard to expect others to understand something so complex that often people who are transgendered do not understand themselves. The best thing to do is just not take it too serious. I have seen some transgendered who get too easily offended. I think it best to just not take it too seriously and to enjoy who you are and hope people will understand, but not expect them to.

      Probably. I went to the casino once amd the guy carded me and kept calling me by my last name. He was super charming about it. Another time a security guard carded me and he looks at me. Back n forth for a minute, you hear a sigh. He was like do you have any other forms of Id? My group is just staring at me. I get that nervous awkward sweats going. I hand him another id. Hmm and he hands it back and walks away shaking his head. Not ideal!

  • @hzuiel
    @hzuiel 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    It your assumptions about the bouncer in story #5 are correct, that bouncer is amazing to both not react with any surprise, and be quick witted enough to cover for you. I mean the whole point of looking at the ID is to make sure the person is old enough and that the ID is real, and that it matches the person holding it, so that's a lot to process, plus the surprise, plus the quick made up name. I mean wow.... I mean if he was thinking clearly he needed to look at you, recognize that you were the same person through the makeup and hair and all, as the person in the picture on the ID.....just yeah i don't know how many more ways i can emphasize that is pretty impressive.

    • @danielgonzalez2696
      @danielgonzalez2696 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +hzuiel I think the bouncer was actually making a joke, she was with friends who I assume knew she was trans so didn't really need to "cover" for her. Amanda. Get it? A man, duh. That's how it sounds to me anyway.

    • @hzuiel
      @hzuiel 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Daniel Gonzalez There were probably more people standing there than just her friends and the bouncer, that's the covering part, and if he was making a joke, it's still pretty quick witted.

    • @danielgonzalez2696
      @danielgonzalez2696 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's true. I agree, definitely quick witted of him. I just wondered if I was the only one who clocked the "Amanda" thing haha.

  • @jessegarcia32
    @jessegarcia32 8 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I know you were born male, but to me it doesn't matter because you present yourself as entirely female, so you are female. It is really hard to think that anyone view you as male unless they went out of their to stalk you online, and find out you're trans, to purposely disrespect you. I'm both mad at Fundamentalist, and Tumblr SJWs, which both seem to think that being Trans is a choice, or a trend, which is not true. It's neither a vice or virtue, it is just a fact of life. Can we just live as ourselves?
