One of the most legendary story arcs for any comic character. Frank Miller took Daredevil from a skippable B-lister to a must buy superstar. Great story telling for any media.
@@starrsmith3810 He still has his Millerisms all over this run though, even in this and Dark Knight Returns you see the stuff that would become much more prominent as he went on.
This is how you write a comic book story. I feel like a lot of other stories are filled to the brim with tropes that make the story predictable and uninteresting. This story, even though it’s old, feels like a breath of fresh air. Thanks for covering this Rob!
I've been a follower of Daredevil since the late 70's when I first started reading comics. It's always been an interesting read. Your story brought back fond memories of my childhood, waiting on my various subscriptions to arrive in the mail. I personally would love to hear you continue with the Daredevil stories
Would ring kinda hollow to me because of how many cues they seemed to take for season 3 of the show. Bullseye stopping a testimony before it could happen by killing everyone in the room, the callbacks to Karen’s time with drugs, Kingpin literally already knowing Matt’s identity, so on and so forth.
You’re really making em great!! I love this old school feel from when you started I don’t know why but I got roots vibes and this was an awesome breakdown!!! YOU ARE THE MAN!!!
I hope I speak for everyone when I say its AMAZING(Rob's word) to hear you laugh and truly enjoy yourself again. Your joy bleeds through to us and I just want to say thank you.
These action scenes were literally fucking explosive. I never knew this storyline existed. What year was this?? I didn’t start reading Daredevil until 1990....
Old Daredevil books helped bring me into the raw portion of comics. He used to go through it something different in a way that felt more relatable than any other superhero. No super strength to help ease the pain really hits home. I would like to see the Red Skull be done justice. Folks would probably say he had good intentions if you looked deep enough nowadays.
Hi Rob I'm a big fan and ex military just so you know that gun frank has jumping out of the helicopter is called a m203 it's a m16a2 with a grenade launcher I actually carried that weapon, I just thought maybe you'd appreciate knowing the actual name keep up the great work man
Great video Rob I started watching you at the time as Bennie he would be so proud of you man. Could you do videos for Daredevil Man Without Fear and Superman For Tomorrow both of those are amazing comics keep up the great work
Rob, thank you so much for uploading this; I've wanted to learn about the original Born Again story for a few years now. But now I ask if you plan on uploading Daredevil Guardian Devil by Kevin Smith as it could be seen as a successor to Born Again where Mysterio decides to ruin Daredevil's life before he dies of an illness.
“Thank you Rob for finally covering Daredevil Born Again” we all say in unison
Agreed
Yeah. Was really surprised reading
True that
This
actually you just thought it by yourself... don't pretend you'd do anything in unison with humanity besides drone out on mindless infotainment
Why were the IRS so cruel as to send a blindman a letter telling him he's undergoing an audit?
was it in braile? havent watched the whole thing or read the comic
Finally someone notices 😂
@@azorahigh3218From what I can tell, no.
Welcome to reality
Because he never ticked 'blind' on the IRS's survey letter.

Absolutely agree with everything that you typed.

@@starrsmith3810 He still has his Millerisms all over this run though, even in this and Dark Knight Returns you see the stuff that would become much more prominent as he went on.
If this happened to Peter he would just Sigh and say "This Again".
That famous Parker luck. Lots of it and all of it bad.
Welcome to my world Matt.
this is just tuesday for spiderman 😭
Never really thought of it that way but yea this isn't anything new to your friendly neighborhood 😂
"Let me tell you something!" - Rob
RIP Comicstorian
The page where daredevil tries to get out of bed and then decides he is too tired is one of the best depictions of depression I’ve seen in fiction
Dam guess I got depression
Dam me too.
There ARE a lot of days like that. Even if it means losing your job and apartment…

Kingpin is gonna feel that headache in the morning.
True
When the IRS gets involved you know you're fucked. Even the Joker fears them! Lol
Because you can't plead insanity for tax evasion

More Daredevil is always appreciated.

Thanks for covering this Rob!
Ben Urich is such an underrated character. He was pretty good in Ultimate Spider-Man as well.
Not even the Joker will mess with the IRS
😂😂😂😂
I got that reference
I think it’s kind of interesting on how this comic run of daredevil reminds me a lot of Batman: Knightfall.
This is not just the greatest Daredevil story. This is without doubt one of the greatest stories ever written.
Yes
Umm no.. daredevil has better stories
@@birdmanfancy9627 suggest those please
Daredevil: Born Again's story is amazing, but the art is STUNNING. I love how colorful it is

Whats up rob...I was feeling a lil down...this helps thank you man. Hope your doing well 💯✌️
This was well made, rly liked it.
Kingpin: "Can we just talk like reasonable adults and be friends?"
Daredevil: "Down low."
Kingpin: "What?"
Daredevil: "Too slow!"
We always want to see the rest. Please continue with the next part.
Frank miller's run on daredevil is my favorite marvel run in anything would love more I read all these in the public library when I was a kid
Dude the beef between Kingpin and DD is like Tom and Jerry 😂 on sight
I remember reading this run when it was new. I have reread it multiple times. One of my all time favorite storylines. Thanks for covering it.
Actually the end of Frank Miller's run .
So I found this out from Reddit: if you go back and start with Born Again and read through the run, it makes it better. And it kind of does…
@@comics_explained thanks for covering this though dude. Also please do the bendis run.
@@comics_explainedit doesnt in my opinion.

It's years after Miller's initial run ended. He just came back for one story, this one.
Love these, haven't read comic regularly for 30 years and these really hit the spot. Thank you!
Born Again is the best comic storyline ever
WOW I still have these comics from when they first came out.... great memories....

Possibly show the beautiful covers of this storyline, love that you are covering this.
Great review. Awesome work

He'll yeah I wanna hear the rest of the story!!! Thanks again man for your content, I love it!
I learned that even in comic books, the IRS is always the biggest villain.

My favorite comic story of all time. The panels of Kingpin hearing that Daredevil was still alive after the car crash is incredible.
Man Rob has CRIMINALLY slept on Daredevil. One of the best written protagonists out of Marvel Comics
The first comic I've ever read at 9 years old. Not sure how mat ever Matt ever forgave Karen.
Matt is better than most people.😞😞😞
Forreal. Some people would gladly sakrifice themselves for heroes. But she does the wuite opposite. And that hero was even her friend.
