Hoping that kingpin running for Mayor in the MCU can lead to this event. I love how this is a villain that can be so personal but also so broad. He can be a villain to spider man and daredevil and still threaten and power over all superhero. And he doesn’t even have super powers

He's got enough willpower to ignore the Purple Man completely and limited super strength, so if Steve is counted as a superhero, Kingpin definitely counts as having powers.

I always found the public in the Marvel universe to be particularly stupid. Wilson Fisk, who is known as the Kingpin, arrested multiple times, in the line of sights of cops and superheroes....elected for Mayor?

Agreed, especially the fact that they cheered for Hydra Cap when he was caught pretending to be Captain Krakoa and was discovered to be the one thatplanted that bomb at the university to blame the mutants, you know forgetting a few years back how he became a fascist dictator and toook over America making people Hail Hydra in class and stuff. They cheered because, for some reason they like the nazi clone of Captain America and hate mutants that much which at this point doesn't make I can understand hating Magneto, Apocalypse and other evil mutants but the whole mutant population and cheering for the fascist nazi clone? WTF?

I just suggested Rob do so. The expansiveness of Zdarsky's and Checchetto's run is legendary! The way it poured into Devil's Reign, Woman Of Fear and the crossover series like Devil's Reign Superior Four AND the X-Men! Zdarsky's work is prenominal! The current run doesn't come near to holding a candle to what Zdarsky did from 2019 - 2022!

Kingpin was originally a Spider-man villain NOT a Daredevil villain. His 1st appearance was in Amazing Spider-man 50.
He's better as a Daredevil villiam imo. That Murdock has the whole legal aspect it makes them more equal.... plus Spidey could just like, instantly 86 him if/when he is so inclined.

As much as I get what you're saying, I still think Steve would have found a way to make them delete that video. That's basically the difference between him and Tony Stark, despite being a big name hero he still gets people on an entirely different level.

This sounds weird as it is like saying DC associated the Fates with the Olympians or that Supernatural associated Angels with the Abrahamic god.

Kingpin wasn't originally a Daredevil villain. He was originally a Spidey villain. First appearance was in The Amazing Spiderman no. 50.

Despite being fully capable of copying the fighting style of Battroc the Leaper you still rarely see Taskmaster jumping around though... That's kind of a missed opportunity.

The only reason Kilgrave hasn't used his powers to Thanos a continent for funsies is that he's much too sadistic for that. If you convinced or manipulated this guy to wipe out a town he wouldn't just tell everyone to kill themselves, he'd probably have them climb the tallest building and hold on until they fell off or something. If people needs to die, he wants to see them suffer, he wants to feel in control of their deaths in a real and personal manner.
And of course, he wouldn't just do that on his own because he's way too selfish to just wipe out a bunch of people for no reason, he'd set up shop in some mansion somewhere and then destroy the lives of everyone living nearby, one family at a time, over decades. He's got the manipulative powers of a god but he loves using them to fry ants with a magnifying glass, in this way he's a nice counterpoint to both Otto Octavius and Wilson Fisk.
They spend the entire series accusing each other of thinking small and not seeing the whole picture, while Purple Man is nothing but a glorified plot device. He's thinking smaller than most.
I didn't think it was cool to see the MCU version of the Task Master at all. We got robbed of a great character so disney could check another feelings box.

You should read Daredevil! Marvel Knights is also a good read! None of them remember their identities..but I don't know if those issues run concurrently with Devil's Reign. I do have some of The Devil's Reign comics and the stories seem to be connected....

Always these Golden Age villains. Gotta feed the machine, I get it. However, Kingpin is just a crook. Gimme some real villainy with some real powers! Kingpin is boring in so much as we know some cape would have off'd him aloooong time ago if the writer didn't always have creative diarrhea.
Seeing this makes me realize how badly marvel fucks up with spider man comics for Peter. Mj stays with Peter the whole time he’s in a coma and recovering and they just throw that love and dedication away for such a shitty story.

Honestly if done right, Netflix now Disney Fisk would work really well with a standalone show covering him using dirty tactics to run for mayor. Imagine the Defenders or at least Daredevil trying to stop him from winning but Fisk framing him to look bad as calculated as he is.
Elektra being Daredevil is like Dr. Oc being spiderman. Way more efficient and brutal.

The echo kingpin was terrible. Made him weak when echo used a power, that she doesnt have in the comics, and tell him to be nice. And echo holding her own against daredevil was just silly.

they're already setting this up in some kind of way for the mcu with kingpin running for mayor at the end of echo and then apparently the daredevil series continuing right into spiderman 4. even if they do a more grounded version with just spiderman and daredevil going against fisk and some controlled villains of the two were in for a banger
did rob say kingpin was originally a daredevil villain? I've always heard that his first appearance was in Amazing Spider-Man (1967). I never read it though, maybe kingpin is functioning as a daredevil villain in that story but I don't think so. also some people consider ASM #51 is the real first appearance of the kingpin since he's a part of the story and not just "a cameo" as in ASM #50.
Rob was wrong, Kingpin started off as a Spider-Man villain. Hell, he even fought Captain America before he even encountered Daredevil. Kingpin didn’t become a Daredevil villain until the Miller run.
