**The Betamax Player Unfortunately Decided It Didn't Want To Play The Last Ten Minutes Of The Tape.... Still I Managed To Get 29 Mins Of This Fabulously Amazing Gloria Swanson Interview.... Enjoy!**
those were the days when people in movies & tv were real stars, they were smart & beautiful and knew how to be a class act. very few if any today are close to this woman! may you rest in peace gloria.
27:56 That "somebody" who kissed Gloria's skirt was Barbara Stanwyck. But I think Gloria's got it wrong. I think the audience at the screening went bonkers over her performance; it was that simple. The film certainly didn't offer any hope to actresses. Norma Desmond, in the film, was unemployable in films, and Swanson, herself, met the same fate.
The actress shown in the video clip of The Affairs of Anatol is NOT Gloria Swanson. How could they not know this? It doesn't even look like her. Bizarre.
The most extraordinary thing to realize about miss Gloria Swanson is that by the 1950's she had been in Hollywood and the entertainment industry for 5 decades by the 1950's....she started in the 19teen's/1910's...she was in Vaudeville which was Hollywood before Hollywood. By the time she died in the 1983 she beenin Hollywood for almost 8 decades. She was a star far before Mae West and Jean Harlow.

Did your machine eat the tape? You can splice the tape, if the machine is still working.

Love this interview. What an accomplished lady. Her memoirs are a wonderful read.
She's impossibly chic, uncommonly smart and amazingly talented. Love this icon.

Priceless recollection by Swanson of studio screening of Sunset Boulevard at the end of the interview.

Fascinating interview!
wow!!!!!!!!!!hope to see this for years!!!
She almost looks better here at 82 than she did on Cavett at 72
She does indeed
It’s the softer hairstyle, the waves
And yet she'd be gone in 18 months.
Wasn't she a lifelong vegetarian?
Yes, a complete health nut. Never ate sugar and took her food every where. Health trailblazer @ad6417
Wow. That necklace is spectacular. Where is it now? Somebody must own it.
11:08 I wonder why this segment from Affairs of Anatole was included, the actress featured in this clip is Bebe Daniels not Gloria
Her hands were very nice.
Classy lady
When I was younger I thought she was weird but with older eyes I think she was fabulous and fierce! ❤
Seems like the interviewer likes to hear himself speak
still beautiful lady
What a lovely lady.

Thank you, I thought I was missing something.
They only interviewed her for 40 minutes?? That sucks.
"Face it, Norma, you're a woman of fifty" as she was told 32 years before in Sunset Blvd.
The intro looks modern 0:10
Thete are several good bios on her.
She was effing Joe Kennedy wasn't she?
what does effing mean. this is the united states of a ma ree ka and u can say any filthy word u want, so say it amigo
they didn't bother to shiow the comedy clip at the correct speed...
Sound?

Great interview but bad production
wots wong wiv yor voize
If she was such a healthy eater why did she die of heart failure 2 years later ?!!
You know why.
People have family diseases that they're predisposed to. Perhaps she would have not lived so long if she wasn't a clean eater
