money shot 4.45 *cheer* Poor Rudi, we were at a location in the region on the Saturday (different lake different river.), fished for about two hours and gave up as the wind was absolutely insane. Thanks again for the quality content keep up the ripper werk mate :)
I haven't fished the Snowies this season yet, but all the reports are it's dead as a doornail. Apparently the cormorants have gotten to all the young fish? Disappointing.
@@seanharwood974 Sean - I will be certain to give an update once I feel that I have had sufficient time on the water with the 6wt to comment - but, can already see that it is significantly more powerful than the 5wt when it comes to casting in the wind… in other words, an ideal rod for typical New Zealand conditions…
@@adzoutnabout888 Yup - another rods - my reel handle on my Winston Air 2 9’ 6” 6wt is loose - and I will need to send it back to the US to get repaired - and the last time I sent a rod back to Winston it took 7 months before I got it back - so, need a rod for NZ in January 2025 - and did not want to take a chance.
@@robertlouis24 yes, i have built a stack of rods in my time. The reel seat may be able to be removed via the bottom of the rod, if not then everything above it needs removing first. Was nearly tempted to head up to Lyell this afternoon.

The fish are most likely in the lake fattening up on Yabbies.
