A wonderful film about an historic house. I'm very impressed by Tom Young's dedication to preserve the building both physically and through his art. Fayza El Khazen must be a very special woman to welcome him into her home to paint and share her last days there. Her tender reminiscences add a sense of warmth and historical perspective to the film. It's amazing what a knock on a door can lead to.
At last, a Beirut historic land mark will be saved, due to the collaboration of Tom Young, Mrs Fayza El-Khazen and the Lebanese philanthropist Hisham Jaroudi. Mr. Jaroudi will restore this important Beirut landmark to its past glory. A refreshing news in the midst of the on going political chaos in Lebanon and the surrounding countries.Well done and thank you Tom Young, Mrs Fayza El-Khazen and Hisham Jaroudi.
Woww!! Amazing.. It is good to hear and know things about our country. It makes us believe more and more that we have an amazing and wonderful country.. I wish I could visit this place and know more about it. Can we visit it?
+Jean-Pierre Ishac thanks Jean-Pierre. Hopefully the house will be open to the public one day, but now it is closed whilst urgent repairs are being planned. Its not clear when they will start yet. Please send me your e-mail address to tom@tomyoung.com and I will keep you informed. Yes, Lebanon is indeed an amazing place!

Beautiful and Sad!! I stumbled on this after reading Robert Fisk's article on the Rose House in the Independent!
Also Tom Young's art is impressive!
