It IS completely about over nerfing to shut down ONE person, namely Serral. the fact that there is still only one Terran consistently beating him is a testament to Serral. Terran and specifically ghost are inarguably OP. This combined with a Terran favored map pool (according to stats Terran has 60% win rate on multiple of the new maps) means Terran OP. Clem is a great player, but also greatly assisted by recent Blizz decisions. Reynor plays against Clem all. the. time. thus his apparent advantages.

I watched the series but occasionally went away to tend to other things (particularly before and during the start of games), and missed that they were playing random for game 1. LOL one couldn't tell that if starting to watch a minute into the game. Reynor vs Clem is the best matchup for the last two months in SC2, bar none.
Comparing the use of 3 mules at once is pointless. It just means he wasn't using them, so was losing mining at earlier points in the game lol. You're literally looking at the one moment in time where there is a peak in the graph, while ignoring the rest of the graph and the total picture. The real advantage of mules comes in later game. With the ability to build a big bank of CC's. In the early to mid game the mule doesn't provide actual advantage, it only keeps Terran to pace with Protoss and Zerg, since Zerg expand faster and can build drones much faster, and Protoss can build probes faster with Chrono. If you watch pro games, almost always in early to mid game (if no dmg done to worker count) then terran will always have lower worker count. Mule is OP only in late game, when they have like mass CC then they can cut worker count and have bigger army. But each race has a late game advantage that the other races don't have, i.e. Zerg can remax very fast, and protoss has recall and can also remax faster than people think with their warp in (plus they can warp in across the map also - which saves massive travel time (like 15-20 seconds) for reinforcing units). Any nerf to mule, will require readjustment to entire terran economy, including the ability to build SCV's much faster, and maybe even not have SCV waste time in building buildings etc (and have it like the probe, where it just places the structure there then can leave). And what you would really be doing is focusing on the late game mass CC advantage, where they can cut worker supply, or reducing that advantage slightly, not the early to mid game, which you need to keep pace with Z and P.

I think Reynor is the most creative top tier SC2 player I've ever watched. It has probably cost him in terms of consistent results over his career, as he seems to get too bored too easily to grind out solid builds to the level of a Serral, Maru or Clem, but his rate of surprising and impressing me with his inventiveness is just so high. Win or lose, he's goated in terms of watchability and contribution to the meta.
For the colors, after the first day the organizers decided that all plyers will play green and blue because of the outdoors theme of the tournament. And your color depends if you are left or right of the stage.

Yup; there's a bunch of other stuff Terran has that's IMBA too. Mines are still hugely taxing on action economy, extended range libs are probably a bit overtuned, I have no idea why the Medivac got a buff that no one asked for, etc. The problem is that for the last few patches Zerg and Protoss have gotten straight nerfs (baneling double-nerf, Infestor/Viper nerf, Disruptor nerf, etc), but every time Terran gets a nerf they get a "compensatory buff" somewhere else, so while Z and P have gotten weaker, Terrans have stayed the same, so it's a one-eyed-man is king situation.

Ultralisk always seem a bit useless since it seems like it gets countered so easy. Wonder if swapping it around with a lower tier unit would make them a bit more viable. Swapping it with what, I don't know. At least the Protoss Mothership at least has a function at times.
I think a good upgrade for them would be to allow zerglings/banes to run under (like colossus or campaign abominations) them and to be immune to AoE while they're under an ultra. That way, they'll at least work as enablers for other units plus they'll struggle less to reach melee.
Lovely games. It kinda shows how powerful Ghosts are in skillful hands, best players in the world do what they can to avoid them. But if you think about it... Snipe counters 80% of Zerg unit roster 😂 But more than Ghost nerf I would love to see some Orbital nerf to force players to use Ravens actively in any matchup. I think something as simple as limiting number of Orbitals to 2 or 3 would make very interesting change to meta
Potential noob logic: I don't quite understand why the Infestor has left the mid game. Since Reynor was fast teching to Hive, wouldn't it have made sense to build a couple of Infestor in the mix? I know it would have delayed his Hive tech by a little bit, but Clem got some FANTASTIC engagements on creep that denied several bases. Having like two Infestor split off into two separate armies seems as though it would make Clem think twice before stepping that deep onto creep. It might also have expedited the process to Ghost seeing Infestor that early which would have made the transition to Ultra less surprising? However, Clem's micro is top notch. He appears to be able to kite Ultra well even on creep. Again, I recognize I am not a pro gamer but the Infestor being considered as only a late game unit seems odd to me.
I think thats a fair point, he probly just wanted to go all in on the ultra surprise since he'd need to go a bit slower with infestors and wouldn't be able to punish the lack of ghosts as quickly, and I think they're more used to catch ghosts and things in the late game

Also, if Zerg can snowball their economy by pushing back bio early on, wouldn't that allow them to build up a max army faster? Commit to like a 1/1 ling/bane timing attack with Infestor support as another option. If the push fails, worst case scenario you can still tech into Lurker, Ultra or a Brood Lord composition. The hopes would also be that it keeps Terran mostly on their side of the map which allows the Zerg to expand more rapidly. Or try to swarm them with Hydra, ling/bane and Infestor if they go hard into ghost to try to get more effective trades. Again, just throwing this out there as a random ass idea.

Yup; it used to be that terrans had to go to spooky mech to win, which had mobility issues, but nowadays Zerg and Protoss have been nerfed so much that ghost-lib can just steamroll everything. That, plus the three experimental maps that all turned out to be incredibly Terran-favored is the reason that half the EWC was TvT and the few Zergs and Protoss who could even advance had to rely on cheeky all-ins and luck to survive, well except for Serral but that's Serral. The only real question is if Starcraft 2 even has anyone left that even can issue a patch on the game, given that MS has laid off like half of Blizzard's staff as part of the merger (which made their promises to the US FTC and EU utter lies, but oh well, it's not like they're going to get punished or anything). I guess we'll see in the next few months, or if we'll just have to rename the game Terrancraft.

That, plus the three experimental maps that all turned out to be incredibly Terran-favored is the reason that half the EWC was TvT and the few Zergs and Protoss who could even advance had to rely on cheeky all-ins and luck to survive, well except for Serral but that's Serral.
The only real question is if Starcraft 2 even has anyone left that even can issue a patch on the game, given that MS has laid off like half of Blizzard's staff as part of the merger (which made their promises to the US FTC and EU utter lies, but oh well, it's not like they're going to get punished or anything). I guess we'll see in the next few months, or if we'll just have to rename the game Terrancraft.
