In 1067 when the 10.5 in tires became available pullers were getting the ag. tires and i got a set of 10.5 in. terf tires and hand cut every other row of tread out. Lot of work but i won a lot of trophies against pullers with ag. tires. I always felt the reason for this the ag. tires dug up more dirt when spinning than my tires which piled up against the sled making it harder to pull.
You say you are balanceing your tires but the angle of the tread on your tires are both pushing your tractor the same way. I think you need to turn one tire 180 degrees so they don't both try to push the rear of your tractor the same way. When looking at the back of the tractor your tire treads should make a V to counter act each tires side force when spinning.
A lot of tread isn't your friend when pulling on dirt. Look how they have very little tread on the tires of the pros high H.P. high wheel speed tractors.

Great videos. We have some 23 10.50 12s on the stock class cub 124 we built for my oldest kid. Gonna make the jump to 26 12 12s once we get the motor/chassis straightened out. Really like the idea of the cut turfs. Might try a set of them out.

Dico makes a 26 12 12 and they worked great for me but you got to sharpen the edge for me the looser the track run less air for sticky track run them fatter but sharpen the edges of your tires and you will see a major difference

Thanks for the tip. I have noticed a difference between some AG tires. A shorter tread tends to do better at most of the tracks we pull at. I have not tried to sharpen the edges. But I'd be willing to give it a go.

@@geared4torque989 I pulled garden tractors for 15 years ,1 was 8hp stock altered with steel flywheel welded rear end it was all wheel horse 862 then there was the two 762 IH 16 hp modified I wouldn’t suggest going alcohol unless you have deep pockets they cost a lot of money but they are a blast to ride my shop was it’s Sponsor I had my own mower repair shop and a friend of mine worked at a machine shop so it worked out good for me. I don’t do it anymore cause I don’t have the time anymore my grandkids take up my time now. Have fun with it and be safe run a good quality oil take care

@@geared4torque989 " sharpening" and " siping" amounts to about the same thing. The idea is to keep a sharp edge on the tread wear it meets the track surface to prevent tire slippage. It is a fine art in the dirt track racing world. There are even sipe patterns than can provide a dirt car more " side bite" in corners. Speedway Motors sells tire siping and tread cutting tools for a very reasonable price and some are not to hard to duplicate if you know what they look like. Seems to me that it would work much better on cut turf tires than it would on standard ag style tires

In the classes I pull I don't notice it pulling one way or the other. It might be an issue in modified classes. How did you get a black eye from the gauge, it should be low pressure

@@geared4torque989 hahhahhaha he said low pressure ...... thats cool tho on tires. maybe they bend over enough not to dig left or rite. tho i like the looks of them. be good for tiller tractors
