Nobody has to be related. We need to get out of that Star Wars mindset. If it took place immediately after Caesar died and it was about his son then that would be fine. But does anyone who does something great in the world have to be a direct descendant of a great leader? No, greatness can come from anywhere. I love this franchise. Love the OG 1968 movie 🎬 - Escape and Conquest are also really good. Roddy McDowell gives one of the best speeches ever in cinema with his motivating Apes speech in Conquest ending. Strongly recommend watching that scene 😮 I loved the reboot trilogy. Dawn is my favorite in this franchise! I am very hyped to see Kingdom 🙌 🐵🦍🦧 the villain looks awesome
The girl in this movie is named Maye. And The Main character is named Noa he's the last descendent of Ceasar. And the Villian is named Proximus Ceasar and he's telling the legend of Ceasar but in a totally different way which is gonna cause conflict in the Ape Community. And also am I the only one or did I see Rocket in the trailer. Ik in the novels some of the apes were time travelers so I'm super hyped for this movie especially from easily one of the greatest Trilogys of all time

I think the king is claiming to be a relative of ceaser, whether of teaching or genealogy. However the new king is a Bonobo, an ceaser was a chimp. Koba or kobo, not sure what he was called. Bad ape from other trilogy was also a bonobo. This is interesting as the bonobo is considered to be a very passive and very gentle primate. Interesting decision.
The interesting thing is the hero Noa has no idea who Caesar was while Proximus Caesar, the villain/crowned chimp king, takes the Caesar name as a title and not only corrupts his teachings but as shown knows about humanity’s reign before and is hunting for human technology.

I believe this might be taking place maybe 100 yrs before the crash landing of the Liberty1 (Icarus) spacecraft from the first movie with Charlton Heston, The Planet of the Apes (1968). In the original story, A total of five Liberty ships were built and sent to the stars. A crew of four in the Icarus were sent to a distant star travelling at near lightspeed. The crew entered hibernation for twelve months for a total of an eighteen month trip. But three months into hibernation, The Icarus collided with another Liberty ship and automatically changed course back to Earth, but were propelled 2000 yrs into the future. The fourth crew member was MaryAnn Stewart. Originally, her pod malfunctioned soon after entering hibernation. The young woman we see in this trailer is wearing a torn t-shirt and tactical pants. Not animal hides. I know her name is Maye in this movie. But she could be the forth crew member somehow sent back in an escape pod after the collision, or the only remaining survivor of the crew of other Liberty ship, but arrives way sooner than the Icarus.

I absolutely love the reboot planet of the apes trilogy Rise, Dawn and War starring Andy Serkis as Caesar. I consider them masterpieces and my top 3 films in cinematic history. It’s sad that they are so unappreciated and underrated by many other people. I miss Caesar ❤️😭💔😭. When this film first got mentioned i was a little skeptical because Caesar wouldn’t be in it along with all the other primates we grew tho love Rocket, Cornelius, Maurice , Bad ape etc. But when the official trailer came out i watched it numerous times and i’m now excited and can’t wait to see it. I think in the first part of the new trilogy it was mentioned that a rocket was launched into space and I think she was on board. Then, like in the original series, she got into a wormhole and now she reappears here in this movie. That's why she can speak very well.

Maybe she was living in a small community on an island with no connection to rest of the world? Maybe she was living with her family on a ship? Maybe she was born with immunity to the virus? Maybe she was in cryo-freeze etc. The trailer even mentions a community where people and apes live together as equals. So maybe small % of people is immune to it but they eventually get wiped out by monkeys.
