@@RobinHoodBricks Yeah, that's fair. I don't currently have any sort of city setup, but if I were to create one, I'd probably try and create an entirely custom train, to be honest.

Nice job, Robin! I've been a fan of 7898, and have one of the Cargo Train Deluxe sets squirreled away in storage. Since you've replaced the RC train base with a conventional PF setup, perhaps you could use the area in the center, beneath the train base, as a cable storage area? That would allow you to get the cables out of the main cabin to a certain extent.
To a degree but it is the "block" of PF connectors that is worst and it won't reach. To be honest it's fine now, it just required an organised structure. The back cab is full of the IR receiver and that's also unavoidable!
Just bought a incomplete one yesterday, fully works, missing 2 cars, minifigures and accesories but i have the loco, 2 hopper cars and 2 boxcars, all for 900 swedish crowns, which is very cheap for a rare lego train
Belatedly happy Birthday. The Hulk looks very good. All that's missing now is a yellow one. And with the airport, it can't take longer than Berlin BER to complete :-)
Happy Birthday Robin. Thanks for these wonderful posts. Love the train. It's kind of a mini-Crocodile; always liked that green train and I'm impressed by your implementation via Power Functions.
Excellent video! I think "The Hulk" is a nice addition. It has the looks of a older style train. Prehaps, "in story" it was an original locomotive circa like 1949 or so. As for your design ethic....as the proprietor, the "Earl of Ethics" if you will indulge my signature puns, that is your choice and we love you for it...even if we might fancy to take umbrage. As I have seen it, there are several ways to look at this sort of effort. For me, mine is a Lego Train Set with City elements. I strive for balance but, above all, the railroad takes the center. Others are Lego Cities with a train function. I am ever so glad you state your design ethic regularly. It is always nice to see artist's intent in application.
I just discovered this channel today while looking for designs for a double-decker carriage. This is amazing work! The cargo train especially is really impressive with all the different carriages. I also liked the few glimpses I got at the seaport in the back.
Well there is a dedicated video for everything you see so you just need to find the right ones, or watch them all. Including two double decker carriage types. Enjoy!
That is one incredible cargo train, powered by three locomotives, it looks absolutely brilliant and the train cam is always a firm favourite with me. Oh and happy birthday aswell, hope you got plenty of Lego for your birthday lol 😂🎉🎂🎉
Great build, and happy late birthday! Sometimes I wish lego would sell the same or similar “cargo train” designs in multiple sets so you could actually get a multiple unit train and not look like a mess of colors and train designs. Even the road names could be different too because of what set they’re from.
Awesome video! Speaking of lots of engines a few weeks ago I saw a train with 6 engines! I guess it’s because the mountains in Canada are hard to climb for a train so it needs lots of horse power!
Happy Birthday Robin! :) I actually had not seen that particular train before, but I do remember those old school kind of lights. Nice job changing things up a bit to make it work with P/Func's and it definitely looks like "The Hulk". That train line is gonna be crazy by the time you're done with engines and rolling stock! I can see it chasing itself! haha
Love the video! You should have the blue train (Hammerhead) be flipped around so that it will be driving backwards but still in the same place of the train.
i remember that train! i wanted it so badly when i was a kid. ended up with the passenger one instead, and remote bring back memories. buttons for speed were quite interesting. can't remember when i got it, but i must have been around 3 or 4, because i was 2 when it came out and i really don't think it would've been on sale for more than 2 years (since i got it new)
Massive! Loving the addition of 'The Hulk' to the goods train! GO LONG!! Great entertainment, thanks Robin! Maybe Superman could be saving the helicopter above '@ sweat' en route to the airport fire engines? Looking forward to next Diagon Alley instalment. 🤩 Cheers, Robin
Happy belated Birthday... The Hulk is great. I love the way the lights work and it looks strong. now coming from a train guy, who built a large HO set the long trains are the fun ones to run. there is just more that you get to look at. you can have so much that as you glimpse the same train through building gaps you could easily believe it is a new and different cargo run. Can't wait to see how you build a yellow one. As always thanks for sharing all the ideas. also the train cam was great. I really enjoy the workers on the pump car. their little legs jumping to keep up.
Yes, doing the TrainCam from the adjacent track seems to be the best idea although keeping one carriage in shot through all the obstacles is very tricky!

I just love how close it comes to hitting everything, you probably held your breath when it went around the first couple of times. I agree I probably would move the helicopter that superman is saving, it does look like you could bump into it easily and blocks the view of the awesome train station. Maybe place it on the empty corner before the train bridge for now? It would be like superman helping it land in an open field. Excellent video Robin. Keep up the great work!

I think the best choice for a yellow train is to customize the set 3677 Red Cargo Train into a yellow train because I’ve seen older Lego trains it looks similar enough to it so it’s from what I’ve seen the parts to convert the red diesel engine to a yellow Diesel engine. Well some of the parts and yellow may be rare where I feel maybe you can use black part instead and You can look like some kind of bee colored train.
another happy belated Robin. i know you aren't having a naming contest but it reminds me of a happy crocodile-I'd call it crocosmile. take a look at the middle of your train. the shot of it passing the crossing by the smart car it looked like there might be a slight touch of the signal between the tracks. i could be wrong though. thanks for this [and all the rest]

@@RobinHoodBricks actually I first thought light-scattering inside the prism causes the reduced light intensity.
