Hi newbie here!! I noticed at the very beginning that you actually put the heat tape directly on the tumbler. This doesn’t effect the way the ink suns on the tumbler?
Welcome!! It may have been hard to tell but the heat tape was on the paper completely except for the ends of the tape so no heat tape was under the design but had it been it definitely would have effected it. Thank you so much for watching ❤️
@@erickamann2742 yes I do. The only time I don’t use the sleeve is if it’s a tumbler with a handle but I definitely use it for straight tumblers every time
All that extra tape to secure everything to use the silicone, is it really saving tape? Not being mean asking serious question... cause in this video double the amount of tape I have to use has been used. But have always been curious about these.
I use to use so much painters tape to wrap the entire tumbler I never liked the plastic sleeves that you heat gun on so my go to was painters tape so this definitely eliminated all that tape for me.
Cerious have you tried those plastic wraps that you heat with the heat gun to wrap around? Does one work better them the other? If those shrink wrap plastics work just as good it might be better for different size cups
I have tried those. I personally didn’t care for them. They melted every time no matter what I would try. I tried several different brands. But I know many people who use them with great success. They just did not work for me.
@@escapedgoat5865 no it didn’t ruin the cup but it melt down into it and has to pick it off. It did melt down and drip onto the bottom of my convection oven.
Hi when adding the long strip of tape to your design before you start to wrap.. does the tape actually lay on the tumbler? I’ve watched it so many times trying to figure it out…I’m pretty new just wondering if it does will that somehow affect the design idk I’m confused lol
I'm gonna have to try one of these. I'm new to sublimation and just did my 2nd tumbler today and both time got ghosting on the top, bottom & seam on the tumbler 😭
Did you use tape around the top and bottom tightly and tape along the seam? This helps so much with ghosting but I also still tape tightly using the heat tape the top and bottom and seam. But I most definitely recommend this sleeve as it really helps with even sublimation
The heat tape I use is the same amount that I would the old way except that I would then take painters tape and wrap the tumbler entirely. So it’s saving me the painters tape.
You know I really really appreciate your video. I didn't know about this tool. And I did more research on Amazon with a more descriptive search. Since my cup is not a skinny tumbler this wouldn't work for me but... I was able to find silicone bands to put on around it. I would have never found these if it wasn't for you. Thank you
Do you know if this will work with a tumbler heat press?
Yes it’s suppose to be able to work in either a heat press or convection oven
Thank you. @@heartofitall

Wow!!! That is a huge game changer!!!! Awesome 🔥

@@escapedgoat5865 no problem. I’m happy to help any way I can ❤️
Can you use that sleeve in the convection ovens also?
Absolutely. That’s what I use.

Ok I figured it out after watching 20 times lol I got it now. It turned out beautifully. Thanks for the video
Thank you!! And no the very first tape I laid did not touch the tumbler only the inside and bottom.
Are these sleeves only good to use with the convection oven?
No. They work in the tumbler presses too
@@heartofitall thank you so much for the info I hadn’t seen anything that said we could use with a press really appreciate your response

Where did you get the print, thank you
I got it from Etsy here is the link www.etsy.com/listing/1151297227/ ❤️
So it seems like you used a lot of tape, how is the silicone cover saving you tape?
The heat tape I use is the same amount that I would the old way except that I would then take painters tape and wrap the tumbler entirely. So it’s saving me the painters tape.
What time, temp and pressure do you use?
I use 400 degrees for a total of 5 minutes. I use convection oven so I don’t know what the pressure would be for a press.
What kind of tumblers do you use? I want to start making tumblers
It varies. Some I’ve gotten from amazon but mostly I get them from the stainless depot company thestainlessdepotcompany.com
mine messed up my tumbler cup
Oh no I’m so sorry, definitely contact the company! I have not had any issues whatsoever and I use mine all the time.

Oh those bands I have yet to try! I need to though lol but they would absolutely be amazing for sizes not standard
i bought one and no matter what i do it will not go all the way on the tumbler
That’s so weird. I do have one that didn’t fit right and I threw it away but my red one does so good
@@heartofitall where can you get the red ones amazon was sold out so i got the blue one and i hate it
It’s beautiful! What a game changer 💕
👀🤦🏾♀️🤷🏾♀️ who knew
Right!!! I have been using it ever since and still love it!
cool, but good lord that's a lot of tape and wrapping just to get it ready.
That's true for all sublimation to keep the print as tight as possible on the tumbler.
