One of those rock bands that should be, but isn't, in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame. Great reaction. Thanks.

And you guys could totally cover every song on their first album. It is considered one of the great debut albums in rock music, along with albums like the first Van Halen album for example.

BJ, I agree. It's time for a 70s house party. Absolutely! And you have to post reactions to songs from the party! Even better, have "special guests" from the party put in their two cents about the songs. BJ: "We should have a 70s house party." ASIA: "Where?" BJ: "Here." ASIA: "Absolutely not. (Asia laugh)." Well, BJ, it was a great idea anyway.😆 Actually, if you could find a place to have a party, that would be awesome! Please, Asia, please...😉

We didn't have many indoor parties. What we always did was have EXTREMELY LARGE outdoor parties in an open field belonging to one of the partiers, with a HUGE bonfire, a hell of a lot of alcohol ( BYOB ) and a little grass for extra fun ( some smoked it, some didn't). Whoever had the best car stereos parked their car/truck closest to the bonfire ass-end first, about 20 yards from the fire, forming a circle around it. Of course, this is done outside of city limits about 5 miles from anybody's home ( no one to call the cops on us for disturbing the peace ). In High School, this was a basic Friday night ritual. After that you either went home ( and got in trouble) or you spent the night there, under the stars. Every one brought a sleeping bag. Man, I miss those days.

Their first album is still the second most selling debut album of all time with 20 million copies sold and all eight songs on the album were hits. The songs that they are still known for today probably "More than a feeling" "Don't Look Back" and a ballad "Amanda" which are still on any rock FM station pretty regularly. They were all number one or top ten hits. A lot of younger people today do not know the name of the group but when they hear one of their songs go, "oh yeah, those guys", just because they heard them on the radio even as kids...lol. You can always tell a Boston song because the guitars have a very unique sound and the lead singer had a particularly great voice for a rock group. The lead singer died relatively young in the 1990's which is why a lot of people kind of forgot about them despite being a huge deal back in the 1970's.

I can't tell you how many times I was at a house party back in the day and the cops showed up asking us nicely to turn it down because someone in the neighborhood was complaining. Or, too many cars lined down the street blocking somebody's driveway and such! Those were the days, most weekends actually. Nothing like a "Party" !

Friday nights after the football game our crowd headed to the lake for a bonfire and kegs. All the auto's on same channel blasting. Black white Mexican no trouble just party. Late 70s mid 80s were the best

Guys that sounds like a fun idea I grew up as a teenager in the seventies. I never got into the disco booty music I stuck with hard rocks since 1970 when I was 8 another great song about parties from the seventies Was a song by a group called AXE rock and roll party in the streets got that vibe too

Party in the '70s at a HOUSE?? Only if the parents are away and have good insurance. NONoNononono.
Summer night, kegger party in the woods at a roaring bonfire. Logs for benches, car headlights for lamps, car stereos for tunes. Best speakers get to DJ. Better still, a rockin' good song comes onto WLS music radio, and ALL vehicles tune-in. Jammin', we called it.
Standard '70s music pace is: 3 fast, 1 slow, 1 unexpected. Rinse and repeat all night.
So, here it is, the official '70s kegger party tune list:
On the way to the party: "Flirtin' with Disaster" - Molly Hatchet
Start the party: "Smokin', "Party" - Boston, "Crazy on You" - Heart
first grope - "Lady" - Styx
Offbeat - "Black Water" - Doobie Brothers
    Rinse/Repeat
"Carry on Wayward Son" - Kansas, "Slow Ride" - Foghat, "Jukebox Hero" - Foreigner
"I Can't Fight This Feelin'' - REO Speedwagon
"157 Riverside Avenue" - Reo Speedwagon
    DJ Chug Break
"Black Dog" - Led Zeppelin, "Revolution" - Beatles, "Fight the Good Fight" - Triumph
    "Wildfire" - Michael Murphy
"Paradise by the Dashboard Light" - Meat Loaf
"Walk This Way" - Aerosmith, "Renegade" - Styx, "Tie Your Mother Down" - Queen
    "Faithfully" - Journey
    "Big Ten Inch" - Aerosmith
Figure out the pattern, throw a triple slow-song set near the end, close with three ;70s anthems:
"Stairway to Heaven" - Led Zeppelin, "Bohemian Rhapsody" - Queen, "More Than a Feeling" - Boston or "Freebird" - Lynyrd Skynyrd.
You guys have already reacted to enough to make your own sets, but remember to include Pink Floyd, ZZ Topp, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Doobies, KISS, Alabama (country side), Chicago, Jim Croce, Simon and Garfunkel, Frank Zappa, Rush, Ted Nugent ---- You might have to play all night.
Pretty much a law back then.

BJ and Asia, festivities in the backyard, BBQ, beer, etc sound great. I can already picture you guys on the show "On Patrol Live" with the police coming by to address a complaint. Naturally, if you would give them a burger and have them enjoy the music, the complaint would be dropped. 🎸🥁🔊🍔🌭🚓👍👍

"...get down and party if you need a cue
you're sure to find one in a crowd

    This should be scripture.

"Get down and party if you need a cue
You're sure to find one in the crowd
Just meet some friends and have a toke or two
In a place where they can never play the music too loud
Get ready for a party tonight
'Cause I'm gettin' right to groove
And if you've got somethin' for me
I've got somethin' for you (oh you know what I'm talking about... ;) )
    Baby
It's a party and nobody cares
    What we're doin' there
Baby, it's a party as long as you're there
    It's a party, party, party!
Now a man doesn't live on bread alone
He's got to have some lovin' each and every night
And a woman's got to have it if the truth be known
Let's get together honey, it's alright"

"In a place where they can never play the music too loud."
In other words, a place where you can blow the roof off, if your amps and speakers have the power. No rules, no limits.
    Stadium loud.
