Thanks for this video. It was great to see how worked with the haze before the shot. Two questions: 1) what is that Beamer light? That changes colors with music? And 2) how does fog compare to the haze?
That was fantastic, man! Funny, this morning there was some natural haze, the sun was out and there were some horses in front of my property with the sunlight behind and that natural haze... so I came back from my daughter school, grab my camera and went out to film... when I finished I realized I hadn't attached the cable from the camera to my T5 😭. That's why having the cfast card inside helps a lot! Thanks brother! great video as always!
Oh my god.. haha. That is tough.. Those mornings are gold! C-fast definitely help and I consider them a very valuable purchase. Also when working with clients that have a bit of knowledge, its nice to give them a card instead of an SSD. Anyhow, keep an eye out on that light amigo! Thanks for watching
I'm sorry if this was already asked but what's a beamer? And, where do I get one? I love the effect it created. I really appreciate any help you can provide. Warm regards!
Cool demo and 16:9 format for emphasis - effective music, too.👍 Thumbnail and multicolored effect in vid work well - like a third dimension. Ironic how digital vids are trying to create “cinnematic” look whereas current movies make heavy use of digital technologies to create effects and mood. Agree? IMO “cinnematic” means “retro” color, mood, perspective, and story w/live actors and little outlandish computer generated stuff. For occassional use, would dry ice/water “fog” generator work as well to get the haze effect? BTW, is Sjoerd a gourmet chef, too - at least an ace w/that knife😁.
Thanks a lot, Paul! Glad to hear you like the layout of the video! It's funny, isn't it? Cinematic has a particular meaning to anyone. But, I do agree with your perception on the word! Dry ice is much heavier than oxygen molecules, which results in the smoke sinking to the floor. Which, of course, is an effect on its own. However, working with dry ice is quite dangerous and requires caution! I worked in the kitchen as a 15yo boy. The chef drilled me to cut hundreds of onions and tomatoes back then. Glad he did, coz now I can cook my food in minutes because of the rapid cutting. Haha!
Nice video. Personally, with haze, I think less is more but again, cinematography should always serve the story. Hope to see more vids from you soon (:
I'm looking to buy a hazer, but I heard that they don't use oil anymore due to its bad for the health. And slot seams to be using water based haze fluid. What are you using for haze fluid, nd what does it contain? Thanks for showing the brand of the hazer. This modell is a third of the price if those I looked at. Also, I'm not a fan that oil leave resedu in set and gear.
Looks amazing! Keep up the great work.
Thanks a lot guys!🙏
What a gem of a channel! Thanks Sjoerd!
Thanks a lot man!
you know it when you see it and feel it...
that last shot looked like an apple commercial with the projector rays hehe great job man :) keep killing it
Thanks a lot buddy!!🙏🙏
Amazing content, the last scenes are beautiful!
Thanks a lot!

Its a regular beamer/projector. I played Netflix: Our Planet the water episode to get these colors :-p. Fog is thicker, haze is like mist.
Nice video and great visuals! What was the "beamer" you were referencing towards the end? Is that a projector or something similar?
Its a very cheap Epson beamer. Doesnt have to be fancy at all!
@@SjoerdWess looks insane. I'll do a bit of hunting and see if I can get one on the cheap. Thank for checking back on this video!
Great!
Yet again. Great video!
Thanks a lot Pat!

Yeah zo cool Sjoerdi
Thanks Sassie! :-)
Love this Sjoerd! I bought a projector last week for this exact type of shot :)
Cool! Its so fun to play around with
Damn, now I need a hazer....it never ends!
Welcome to film buddy. The ever growing list of gear!
This look AWESOME! I'm gonna buy a hazer now. Are you happy with this one?
I really love this hazer. A bit loud, but does the job SO well!
@@SjoerdWess awesome! ordered

No worries! This was a beamer from the thrift store. Any beamer works really!
Great job dude!
Thanks a lot mate🙏
Could you elaborate on the "Beamer"?
Haha im so sorry. I was under the impression this was an English word😂. Beamer = projector!
@@SjoerdWess We live and learn!
Absolutely!
Great video!
Thanks a lot!🙏
Maybe I’m oversimplifying it, but to me, something cinematic looks intentional.
Good one!

Thanks a lot! And, I agree. Haze can be overdone (like the example I did in this video). A subtle touch of haze can do wonders to an image though!

Mine is waterbased and I think this is essential. Oil based is garbage especially if you go on location :-)
@@SjoerdWess Do you have a link to the fluid youre using?
Not really unfortunately. Its a Dutch brand. Just haze fluid.. 🙏
Hi Sjoerd! Can you tell men hoy many lumens is the projector?!thanks!!
Phewww, not sure man. This was a 50 euro second hand beamer, so I feel like any other projector is better haha
@@SjoerdWess thanks!!
Waaaw
Cheers mate!

Name your favourite movie or show which used haze! Also, have you ever used haze on your production?
Didn’t Casablanca use haze (at dockside, I believe)?
Whats the name of those barn doors?
I have no clue. I guess apature barndoors?
@2:52 is your house all nice and sticky now?
Haha, niks aan de hand man. Voordeel van een echte hazer :-)
@@SjoerdWess gelukkig maar, heb er slechte ervaring mee haha
