i remember he replied to me about DACs and said it stood for "digital audio convertor" instead of analog, and said that old sampler DACs like on the Aka s900 were just software. I was stunned that a guy who uses this gear and talks about it on youtube knows so little.
@landonh3535 he's clueless, I looked through the comments on that video, so many people trying to explain to him that having the volume pots at the same clock position on two different pieces of equipment that were built 2 decades apart from each other does not mean they are outputting the same volume, but he just can't seem to wrap his head around the idea 😂 while just being straight up rude and condescending in his replies, the guy is becoming insufferable at this point
His example is flawed off top because he didnt sample the sounds directly into each unit. He transferred files to the 3000 via floppy. If hes not sampling directly into the unit, its a waste a time.
Dibiase and Ave Mcree are in two different categories. TH-cam gear review "producers" make uninspired music because they're not focused on making honest music, they're focused on the gear. That seemes to be Dibiase's original point. People think good gear will make good music FOR THEM. Thelonious Monk wrote some of the greatest music in history on his upright piano in his living room. One single instrument and a piece of paper. That's only one example.
Many people have spent many thousands of dollars in new outboard gear since this MPC/analog/sound quality debate came to the fore a few months ago. They're "identity-committed", now.
I've been in the MPC community for fifteen years and the only constant is drama. It literally dates back to before the MPC 1000 and before Akai was acquired by Numark.

Like a 5 db difference 😂😂 wow. I was literally yelling at TH-cam while watching the Ave video haha. So bad! I own a MPC3000 and I can tell you that there is a difference between the older Roger Linn era units and anything from the MPC2000 on. Not just the converters etc. They also have different sequencers. The older MPC 60/ii and MPC3000 have a natural swing to them. Even with no swing added. You can hear how the snare kinda rolls on the beat vs being right on the grid. Not enough people talk about the magic Roger Linn swing. That’s another reason why the null test was far from from being null and the clips might have not lined up perfectly in the first place. Anyway, love your content!

Both mpcs have multi out. If you wanted your 808s to knock really hard you would get a good analog mixer and run the 808 hot through the mic pre or get a good saturation pedal. Maybe get a good value and punchy compressor like a RNC Really Nice Compressor. If you are fighting over which mpc is more punchy you are missing the fact that your mixers could have much more punch/dynamics if you use the individual outs. If you are acting like a clown, as a content creator, then the rest of us in the music business are gonna call you on it. If “sit yo ass down” was a person
He has set the president and its busy works beats 😂😂
I tried to work for this clown making sample packs when I was between jobs. My packs must have sucked because he never got back to me lol!
I quit fucking with Ave after he shilled the MPC Keys so hard and tried to go after Benn Jordan.
I love my MPC Live and it’s my main composition tool, but I keep an Emax in my studio for a reason even though the damn thing takes up so much space. Everything that comes out of the Emax is an instant vibe and requires way less work to get me the sounds I want.
why does it look like he's not wearing pants
😂😂😂😂😂😂
He needs to volume match then do a null test to see if saturation or compression is involved in making it "hit harder" ...
I’m unsubbing from ave. To come at dibiase like that when he’s being doing it way before ave. Anybody that’s been in the “beat” scene long enough would know this. It’s crazy to me because I’m younger than ave and I know a lot of these things lmao.
lmao "VU meters aren't accurate" IEC 60268 has entered the chat. Standards and certifications exist for a reason, not just to make fun of freedom units
He should have made all MPC output vol knobs max for continuity
Just...just normalize the audio :0. Also, is loudness really that important as a test? I'd compare the Eq or the compression of the machines not how much loud they output the sound :/
