Lauris Leikarts says ice cream makers is a trash exercise. ,,No control, no real purpose". Now I'm not sure where the truth is. Some contradictory advice.

Try learning the front lever for 6 week or so (3 week with ice cream makers and 3 weeks without) and see which period gave you the best result, if you don't wanna do that for whatever reason, fitness FAQ made a video about ice cream makers, why they are trash and gave another exercise to do instead of ice cream makers. Have a good day and good luck with your training :)

@@blablasijus as mentioned in the video, for everybody it’s going to be different, You have to understand, that none of us have the same genetics, parameters etc. Personally for me (STRENGTHIST) this exercise (ice cream makers) worked really well and negatives didn’t, but maybe for You for example, negatives would work much better than ice cream makers, By utilizing our 12-set method, You would only need to choose one of all complimentary exercises listed on this video (in rare cases two) ice cream makers would primarily attack Your core, it would force you to hold Your hips in one position, it also mimics the entrance to front lever, which makes the exercise more useful, it trains proper scapular retraction and depression, essential for maintaining a solid shoulder position in the front lever and sometimes combining dynamic movement with static holds improves Your ability to stabilize in the lever position, so it is important that You listen carefully and up to You to decide if You need this exercise. As for who would You need to listen to, it’s Your choice, everyone has his own training methods, we have an over a decade of experience in calisthenics and 8+ years of experience in helping people to reach their goals, we are also active world level calisthenics athletes so it is very much in our interest to learn about calisthenics every day, to find new approaches and best exercises. Thank You for Your comment and wish You best of luck with Your journey!
