@@wemslayer I do front levers too. The movement was slow, the arms were extented and the whole body flat. He even held the position just for a bit after all the momentum was gone. A beginner or even intermediate guy wouldn't be able to do that movement. I think you are missing the forest for the trees.
Being able to do a front level even for 1 second is far beyond what most people can do. But being able to hold it even for 2 seconds is a world of difference in terms of difficulty
Raising quickly into it without holding isn't really the level you should be at to train it that way. He'd get very little out of doing attempt like that, which is why it's better to do an easier progression you can actually spend time in.
@@perkimon3402 No, he literally doesn't have the strength to hold a front lever. Swinging up into a front lever position is not even close to as hard as doing an actual front lever
This guy runs a TH-cam channel on fitness and is actually competent. You guys (including OP but also some of the replies here) on the other hand obviously don't know what you're talking about. Why do you pretend like you do? Not being able to hold the form of an exercise for less than a second, simply means it's too challenging for the level the person is at. That is not disrspctful or hrsh, it's simply the honest truth. You should *appreciate* an expert giving advice on how to train an exercise with the proper progression for your individual level, not speak up against him in the comments.
I swear the slanted pull ups totally throw off my back pump there’s a world of a difference between straight and the slanted for me at least. Pull ups went from being one of my favorite exercises at ymca to me never feeling quite right when I moved to planet fitness
Front levers are holds for time, he didn't hold it at all, just swung up and down again while shaky. The tucked lever is the right progression for him, as you saw, he could just about hold that for 10 seconds with a struggle. Honestly the inane arrogance of random internet dudes thinking they know more than a professional world famous calisthenics coach. The only reason you're leaving comments like this is because you know so little you have no idea what you're looking at. Maybe watch a vid on Dunning Kruger next.
We just did those 2 hours ago. My friend injured his right shoulder . His first time injuring himself. He can hold it 10 second. Something tore. He has pain
Back and core. Your arms and lats are basically doing a static and challenging pulldown, your shoulders and mid traps are staying centrated instead of sagging to the floor, and your core and quads are holding your body flat with no support whatsoever. Imagine sliding your legs off the end of a bench and keeping them up in line with your torso, how much work that would be. Then take away the whole bench lol.
These calesthenic moves are just a matter of practice. People just dont see their comparative value and therefore do not spend the time building on them. The asian guy did a fine job considering that his forte is bodybuilding. I assume the calesthenics guy was joking with his buddy here, but i think commentrrs should still respect the asian youtuber for his legitimate front lever.
I am very fortunate i could do a perfect front lever the first time i tried. But then i could nearly do an iron cross the first time i tried. Years of sports and training
Not even close but dude has lots of potential probably from years of working out. 1-2 months should show. Ive got my full FL after 1 month practice after long time of weighted pull ups and inverted rows.
@@informationdenierto do a nice front lever for a few seconds, you should have considerable lat strength, so around 10 to 15 perfect form pull ups... I disagree. HIS original was better, but he should hold for as he can and move as slow as he can. Otherwise, he's doing groundwork for the core in the air. Instead of the original targeted area.
