Thank you for this Video George, I'm a crazy home mechanic who'll take on anything and this really helped me work out some difficult moments and get this pig out. For others out there this project has a number of impossible bolts with torx heads, you will need a spline M10 socket to drop the exhaust and 12mm sockets for the 8 manifold nuts. Do not take on if you have not had experience in working with jammed and seized bolts and nuts in jammed areas. I repeat this was hell and only for those who hate engineer designers and like to express that verbally whilst under a car.

Just to anyone attempting, you definitely need to take off the pipe at 10:05 or turbo will not come off. You need a 1/4 12mm socket with wobbly bit to undo the last bottom manifold bolt near the dpf side

At the 6 min bit. How did you remove that oil feed so easy. Am doing a turbo job now and have just bent the oil feed pipe while trying to undo that 17mm nut. The pipe turned with the nut and bent and now I have to replace the oil feed pipe.
It's a channel for dirt haha, the reason that happens is shutting the engine down immidiatly after high loads, the oil cabonises inside the pipe, tdi turbos get extremely hot and that's how that happens.
@@GicaPhpno worries bro, I'm currently battling to get my turbo off the block too, I had a timing event and need to remove the cylinder head, it's never taken so long to simply remove 8 nuts....
