I like the idea of the wooden spoons in the black box at your kitchen sink. Glad I got to do some virtual shopping at Good Will. I haven’t been in a while. Thanks for sharing.
You’re welcome. Thank you for watching 😊
That’s what I’d put in that match holder too.❤❤❤
I liked the idea of putting your tea spoons in the matchbox holder, ❤
Thank you! 😊
Julie, you make me think of myself. My dad was a logger here in Arkansas. And ever since I was a kid, the smell of a local sawmill makes me think of him. He used a chainsaw so therefore he always had that sawmill smell when he came home from work. After he passed away, I told mom that I would love to live near that sawmill to have that smell every day. Sweet sweet memories
Oh I feel ya! Isn’t it amazing how just a smell can bring back the sweetest memories?!
So was mine in Arkansas.
Arkansan here too. Small world ❤
I live in Arkansas
I live in Arkansas
I've thrifted several wooden match boxes. I use them for matches by the fireplace, for trailing artificial plants or silk or dried flowers and for utensils in the kitchen. I have taper candles in one. One in the bathroom with rolled up hand towel in it. doily draped out of the top of one. doll or stuffed bunny in one.
Oh that’s awesome! Good idea too!
I like the spoons in the matchbox the best
Thank you ☺️!
I am 59 & we had those very glasses when I was growing up! I loved them! That brought back memories ❤
Yes they are vintage but look brand new!
My glasses like those in the 70s were gold colored.
How many times have WE all said, “I’m just going run in quickly”. LOL.
Too many! Lol 😂
I think the glasses are Soreno green Anchor Hocking. They go about 15 bucks a glass. I think.
Also, I use an office binder holder for my boxes of tin foil, parchment paper, plastic wrap, etc . Works beautifully and holds about 4 boxes, standing straight up in a cabinet.
Thank you! 😊 and oh good idea!
Good eye on those Soreno Glasses!
I believe those green glasses are vintage and there might be a pitcher to match. Girl you're after my heart. I live in Oklahoma and love seeing a fresh field full of hay bails. I've stopped on a dirt road on the way home from a milk dairy to take a video of that tall grass that looks like wheat tails blowing in the wind because I loved watching it. Enjoy your videos on both channels. 😊🥰😊🥰
Thank you! 😊
Hey Julie 😊... wonderful finds...thank you so much for sharing and your inspirations once again to incorporate in your home. ❤ FYI - The green glasses are Vintage Soreno Avocado Green Glass by Anchor Hocking...
Thanks so much! 😊
I like the matchbox style with the spoons best.
Thank you! 😊
Quick note about hot hair tools: use a silicone potholder on your counter to set your hair tools on while using/cooling.
Oh good tip! Thank you! 😊
I love the smell of fresh mown hay. But I also have bad memories of baling hay. It is a lot of hard work. As a kid I helped my grandfather and my brother bale hay. Pulling those rectangular bales out of the baler and throwing them up on the wagon, especially on hot days, really wore you out.
Oh I understand that too! I mostly drove the truck even as a kid.
I’d be willing to bet that one of these days you’ll come across the matching avocado green Soreno pitcher! I’ll be here waiting for that moment! Here in Florida it’s the smell of orange blossoms…heaven on earth!
My Great Aunt had those green glasses and the pichter to match, i always loved them. That was in the 60s 70s ..what a great find!!!
Thank you! 😊
Hi Julie! Love all of your videos especially when you stop and show us your ideas! The match holder looks great with the spoons,I hope you can rearrange to include the black basket you took down too! They look great together!😍
Thank you! 😊
I remember those glasses from my childhood in the 70’s!!!!
Oh my goodness I loved the Christmas tree enamel sign … all your choices are amazing!
Thank you so much!
Oh Julie I feel the same way… there is just something about seeing those bails of hay. I also love it when they have just cut the silage and gather it up. Thanks for taking us thrifting have an amazing weekend!
I grew up in the country and still love the smell of freshly baled hay.
I'm originally from North Dakota, & my Mom still owns the maternal Great-grandparents Farmstead. I can't get back there much now that Mom is 93, so I follow the Sonne channel, even tho' they're in SE South Dakota, it's as close to 'home' as I can get.
Great ideas for the matches holder. You're so creative Julie. So sorry you were unable to buy the lamp shade. Loved it. Hope you and your family have a blessed weekend.
Thank you! You too! 🤗
Love the scene at the end. One of my favorite things about the countryside as well.
Thank you! 😊
Love the match box with the wood spoons in it!!
That glass cake holder with the flowers on it! I thrifted the casserole dishes with that pattern.
I live in the Netherlands, but I love thrifting with you. I love it that you actually use the stuff you buy.
Thank you! 😊
I love the Tea Spoon idea!
Thank-you for the side trip.---XOXO
Thank you for sharing the hey rolls ❤ love it 🫶🏼
Ha ha ha !! Did you really think you could be in the Goodwill parking lot and not go in🤣😂
The temptation was too much 😂
Yep, I live out in the country it's so beautiful out here and I pass a few farms on the way to the main road and see the hay bales.
It’s my favorite!
The prices at your Goodwills are very good!
The metal matchbox is also a candle holder. Long slim candles
Hi Julie, the vintage green drinking glasses are Anchor Hocking Sereno in Avocado green.
Love the match box by the sink with the utensils! But what I really like is the glassware. We have loads of glassware in our carefully curated, home decor thrift shop!
Great finds. The field of round hay bales is so peaceful. I live in a rural area, and the fields right now are so pretty.
Thank you ☺️! And I agree! My favorite!
I love those green glasses. They are from the late 60’s early 70’s. I remember seeing those often in homes we visited while growing up. There is a pitcher that matches. Maybe you’ll be lucky to run across one sometime.
Thank you! 😊 I hope so!
That wire shelf is an extra temporary shelf which can be used anywhere you need to have a shelf. I have used seminar units in my kitchen to lift glasses above cups and separate plates by size. Also in my closet to add another layer to my shelf, and yes for shoes or purses. They can get pricy. Great in pantry as well. Wal-mart has some too.
Thanks for the info!
Scare cows r so easy to make. I’m sure u have all the stuff at your house.
Beautiful as always Julie 😊
Everyone has been decluttering thanks to you...lol...watch both channels and enjoy❤
I’m so excited for everyone! It is contagious!
Like the match box on the side of cabinet. Thank you for sharing this video and all great finds.
Thank you! 😊
Julie love all your ideas...you really offer out of the box ideas
Thanks so much 😊
Julie, that metal tree farm sign was from Walmart . I know because I bought one a couple of years ago.
I still love mine!❤️
I came close to getting it. So cute!
OMG l love the match holder ideas especially for the spoons. I'm kicking myself because l had the same one but only in brass and l gave it away because l didn't want to hold matches by our fireplace any longer. Maybe l can find another one. Thank you for all your great ideas. ❤
Wow...the prices there are crazy high. Four dollarstore pumpkins for $3.49? Wow! That green squat looking gourd was beautiful.
You go girl!!!
Anchor Hocking didn’t just make the glasses in the Serono pattern! They also made mugs WITH saucers for your coffee too!! They would look so cute next to your plates while your having breakfast & give you a great excuse to hit the thrift store!😂😂❤️💚
Yes! Thank you! 😊
Love the alphalfa hjay...grew up around it. Thanks for sharing!
The match box could be used as a wall.pocket you artificial flowers.or vine.
My mom had a vase with that same design and it was green too! That was.....awhile ago 😳😁🤣
You should get a picture of that hayfield, print it up & use for fall decor. I had a set of those green glasses many years ago so they must be vintage. I've seen many of the pitchers when thrifting.
Hello Julie it was fun😂😂😂
P.s. i recall those glasses from late 60s. Lucky find.
I love your "2 minutes "!!! Just running in😅
Good fines, love the black match box, you had lots of goos ideas you shared with us.
Thank you! 😊
We had those green glasses growing up back in the 60’s! They are so pretty! Liked the match box with the spoons. We have hay like that here in Tennessee too! Love your videos
Thank you 🤗
Like your ideas I thought flowers in the bathroom since you are redoing your bathroom with black. Love from Mississippi
Hope the scarecrows work for your chickens . We don’t have hawks so maybe they are different than crows, but I do put out a scarecrow every fall and the crows actually love it 😳They come and sit on it 🤣 It’s okay though , I love our crows. They are very smart and so entertaining and we don’t have any animals for them to bother. 😊My brother put some windmills on each side of his chicken coop and their movement keeps the predators away and they look really cute too. 🤔💡Maybe you could put up a scarecrow holding one of those little metal windmills from Dollar Tree in its hand then all your bases are covered 🤣
Oh gosh! Lol, that would definitely be my luck that they would end up landing on it and stalking my chickens.
Great ideas with the match box😊
Thank you! 😊
Your ultima China cup is from the 1950s. Nice find. One is selling on Etsy for $14
Oh wow! Thank you!
Girl yes, I love a field of hay bales, rolling hills and black cattle .
Hi Julie oh what a wonderful shopping trip. Thanks for sharing.🌻🐓🌻
You are so welcome 🤗!
Hi Julie. I love watching your videos ! I got a wood match box holder thrifting and I love your ideas for using it. I have a plant in mine but I am now considering using it for holder wooden spoons. Love seeing you thrift and style!
Thank you so much 😊
I do the same thing....drop off at Goodwill then go inside lol. I absolutely love the match box holder in that spot with the tea stirring spoons inside! Keep it there!
Thank you! 😊
I have watched your other channel where you did decluttering. You motivated me to declutter and refresh my kitchen.
That is awesome! I’m excited for you!
Julie, I love those green glasses. I look for them all the time. They look like Vintage Anchor Hocking drinking glasses. I too love green. I wish our goodwill prices were as good as yours. I live in Florida, and our prices are crazy expensive. Always enjoy your videos on both channels. 😊
Thank you! 😊
Those glasses look like anchor hocking glasses. A very good glass.
Thank you! 😊
You could also add some medium sized fake sunflowers to that matchbox and hang by the window.
Yes! Thank you! 😊
Hi Julie. I agree with you about the smell and beauty of a freshly baled hay field. Nothing any prettier. ❤

The glasses are Mid Modern Century glasses by Anchor Hocking Soreno. Four 12 oz glasses range approximately $40 to $50. You got a steal. Enjoy.
Oh wow! Thank you! 😊
Julie it's great fun to make your own scarecrows! You can do it with the grands. Thrift for the clothes to stuff them etc. Great memories.
Thank you! 😊
Love what you did with the matchbox and wooden spoons! Looking forward to the bathroom makeover too!
Yay! Thank you!
For 50+ years, I have been keeping plastic wrap &foil in the top part of fridge; it aids with sticking to 😢each other.
Julie what a beautiful place..I’m dreaming someday I living in that kind of place..
Hi Julie! I loved this video! Fresh hay and and also fresh cut lumber
Thank you! 😊
Walmart has big scarecrows for like $7 I believe!
Julie, thank you so much for this video. Have not been out of my house any of this week. Hurricane Debby hit the southeast coast of Georgia and we got LOTS of rain. There was some flooding locally so I’ve stayed at home. Needless to say, I have a big case of “cabin fever”! Will be so happy to get back to my local thrifting haunts, hopefully soon. Hate you missed out on the woven lamp shade. Maybe one day another one will pop up for you.
Oh I’m glad you are safe! Hopefully you can get out soon!
@@ThrilledThrifter Thank you, Julie. I hope that by the first of next week that things will be back to some semblance of normalcy!
Great thrift finds
Thank you! 😊
Those 3 green glasses you bought are Anchor Hocking Green Sorano Glassware. Found a set with the pitcher on Etsy.
Tried to copy the picture on here for you but I was unable to.
I love the match holder by your sink and oh my the hay field was beautiful!
Thanks so much! 😊
I just had to stop and smell the coffee
😁
For the tin matchbox, you could put seasonal flowers or greenery.
Thank you! 😊
Hi Julis, love your channel. There was a beautiful cake stand with cover that you showed, I believe if is called Savannah. I have that exact cake stand and love if, while thrifting I have added several matching pieces and love them all. The 3 glasses that you bought bring back happy to me also. Both of my grandfathers worked for the railroad so I also love trains. Waiting till the next video, Thanks!
Thank you! 😊
I’ll be looking for a metal match box to hold my straightener . So cute idea ! I love it . Thanks for giving ideas / suggestions for other uses .
Thank you! 😊
I commented before this video was over but had to repost. Julie you are a woman after my own heart. The smell of freshly baled hay is one of my favorite smells as well. I have a beautiful framed picture of my Sister's hay field with round bales and the morning fog/mist hovering over them. It's one of the most peaceful scenes and every time I look at it, I can almost smell the hay. Thanks for sharing that moment.❤
I was going to comment on this also, I grew up on a farm and baling hay was a 3 time job every summer, Love the smell ❤❤
Awe, thank you! Yes,it also reminds me of my childhood! So many summers in the fields.
When you picked up the black match holder, I was yelling at you that I wanted that to mount on my fireplace to put my long lighters in! lol
I love, love, love the black match box. ❤
Thank you! 😊
Girl I had to laugh at your intro since I myself am a thriftaholic. I love your videos you give me such inspiration on how to use my great finds. Thank you so much for your time and the joy that you bring each week!
Thank you so much!!
Next Saturday, 8/17/24, my local Goodwills are having a 50% off day to make room for holiday items. I would like to go but can just imagine a MADHOUSE.
