I gave up trying to find the right sized candle holder for inside my fireplace not to mention at an affordable price and ended up creating something that looks even better that I can add branches or pinecones or any kind of seasonal decor too. I cut 4x4 blocks of wood at varying heights that I sit different size candles on and then fill in all around them with decor. I use the remote control battery candles so I can “light” them with the push of a button.😊
Thank you Julie, a great video! I always feel like getting to go shopping with you , which means alot to me because all of my friends and family women are gone now. I love the little gold rimmed bowls, but I would have bought three. My beloved mother-in-law encouraged me to do things in threes to honor the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Love, Marcie from Oregon
I LOVE the way the candles look in the fireplace! Kinda glad you didn’t find a stand with the candle holders all in one. I think having the four different ones makes it so unique! Love the basket and florals too! Have a good weekend my friend!❤
You found some cute items. I like how the fireplace looks. I can't believe your stores still have 1.49 pricing?! Our stores start at 2.99, and once in a while, bagged items will be 1.99. All the thrift stores need a reality check they get the items for free, so any profit they get is a win. They need to stop over pricing items! Have a good weekend
Julie your fireplace looks so nice…what a good idea. I was out thrifting yesterday and found a pair of sandals that I really like and I found a pillow for my couch that has down fill in it with a pretty blue cover with a bird on it. So much fun to thrift. Have a good weekend and looking forward to your next video. Your grandchildren are just precious. God bless!
I really liked the pastry blender It mixed your shortening ng or butter into your flour when making pie crust or any kind of pastry, mixing butter into xxx sugar, or similar need.
I LOVE YOU! Even though our tastes are different, I receive your message loud and clear. You have such a talent for display right in Thrift stores and you immediately know how you will display your treasures. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I go through steak knives too! I use them all the time for so many things. The serrated blades are good for slicing a lot of things besides steak, especially tomatoes. I have found many sets of vintage ones over the years but somehow they all eventually disappear so then I’m on the hunt again!
Julie, how amazing to find such wonderful items to reuse and give them new life, great finds 😊. The fireplace looks so nice and cozy. Just ready to sit in front of it with a nice cup of hot cocoa and a warm blanket.♥️. How precious it was that you had your sweet family there with you shopping it’s always so fun. Family is the best.♥️. God bless and have a wonderful Saturday……🍂🧡🍂
I sure did enjoy that shopping trip to goodwill. Your fireplace looks perfect , great idea . The bucket filled with the fall plant looked so pretty too. I liked how you used all your finds and how they looked like they were such a perfect fit with your decor. Thanks for sharing 🧡🙂👍🏼
Have found unopened , new puzzles and may buy that. Otherwise probably not. I do like to buy used games even if pieces are missing because that is usually much cheaper to replace lost game pieces. Candles look so nice in your fireplace.
Always fun going thrifting with you Julie. Have a blessed weekend. Ohhhh Noritake is pronounced, nor ah tahh key. It’s good China from Japan. Actually can be very pricey. Your bowls are very pretty. 😊❤😊🙏
Julie, you had a great thrifting haul. You found some really functional items. Love your fireplace with the candles. Your granddaughter is a great thrifter. Hope the rest of your weekend is relaxing. God bless and take car. Cookie in Mandeville Louisiana
Julie! I used to place a mirror in the back of the fire place then used the candles. I used al sizes of glass & copper as well as wroth iron, according to the season. Never usef it to burn. To messy. God bless you & yours..
I have the same steak knives. I bought them over 30 years ago from Fingerhut. So they're definitely vintage. However mine didn't come with that cute knife block
Love the candles in the 20:43 😊😊 fireplace....my daughter in law did that last year...she put a mirror behind them...they do not use their fireplace so she can keep it like that all the time 😊
Those bread plates might be from Noritake set 5182. I think from the 50's-60's? I think it's discontinued, but that set is absolutely so chic and lovely. You should Google it just so you can see how stunning the set is all together.
we buy most of our puzzles at thrift stores...a few times there were pieces missing , but not often. and they can be so pricy when bought new. we do a couple a week sometimes so we need a bargain :)
I leave the puzzles behind. The candles in fireplace looks great. I would have buck shaped basket also loved it I agree flowers are perfect for it, but You must get another bunch to go in it too.
now that your fireplace is clean of ashes, wipe it down well and spray paint with high heat black paint. we did exactly the same thing with ours and the black interior is very nice paint
Hi Julie, your fire place looks so pretty with all the candles lit. I love the little gold frame that you have your fathers picture in. That was a good price on those steak knives.
I love the mug with the anker. God is my anker. I ware an ankerbracelet too Briley knew what she liked. I love lighthouses too Always love how you style your buys Have a grate weekend
Love your no nonsense way of thrifting. I can't believe you left the vacuum jar lid set behind. There are generally 4 or 5 basic USB sizes...A B C or Mico and Mini. I'm sure you have any number of devices that you have would have fit that. Shoot... Happy hunting.
I recently purchased a metal candle holder for the fireplace. It hadn't been priced. I paid $1.50 for it on half price day. I like the way it looks, too! But, Individual metal candleholders work just as well. I also like a small strings of twinkle lights in a fireplace That domed candle holder is referred to as a Luminary. I have a few in bisqueware. I love the way the light glows thru. Nor-ah-tah-kēe is an excellent and old brand of china. I store a lot of my dry goods (beans, lentils, pasta, dry soup mixes) in labeled vacuum sealed Mason jars. Love it. They last a long time that way. I've never seen one of those cold brew coffee makers at my thrift. I just use a Mason Jar. Looks like it would be easier using one of those. I also recently bought one of those Columbia throws. Mine is a dark tan Your Goodwill has a bigger kitchen and decor section than mine. Mine is mostly clothes. (I haven't read any of the comments, so I don't know if anyone else told you what that candleholder is)
I’m in Iowa and I found out something that some of our Goodwill stores go. Not all of them but some. On Mondays and Thursdays which ever the color tag for that week is, is .99. A store employee told me that, and I had never heard that before, ssssooooo, just try to find an item you want with whatever color tag is the one for that week and it will be .99. You must have to be there when they open the doors cuz I NEVER find anything I want that the specific color on those two days. But I do go in looking for whatever trips my trigger that day, put it in my cart/buggy and think about it. I also go thru the store twice, just in case I missed something. Love your channel Julie, God Bless you and ALL your family.
The jar sealer looked like a c-type USB charger, but as someone mentioned earlier, some companies will send you missing parts. Great haul. The sweater is beautiful. I think I would have gotten the Columbia blanket. That was a great price and I loved the color.
I would have purchased the green blanket but I live where it gets cold. I have a blanket on my lap right now. I love how your fireplace turned out! You always do such a great job decorating. Thank you for always taking the time to make these videos.
Julie, love the little baskets and the steak knives looked great. Love the vintage wood look on them. Grandkids are adorable. Nope, puzzle has to be in unopened box for me to take home, if I got it home and it was missing pieces it would drive me crazy lol. Have a great weekend.
I’m sure the little brown basket that you found at Goodwill was better quality for the one that was 10$ at Michael’s! And I just love how your candles look in the fireplace! What a great idea🤗
Julie, the steak knives are not going to be easily sharpened since they have a serrated edge. I’d try them out first to see how they do since they look hardly used. Also you can use food grade mineral oil to rub into the handles and they will look like new. 😊
Julie - I think the China plate that is oddly shaped may be for gravy to puddle without spilling over the side of the plate.........You are my favorite Thrifter!!
The nortok'e China from Japan was probably brought back by a service man to their wives. That what my Daddy did in the early 60's. Love how you styled all your finds. Happy thrifting 😊😊😊😊
Love how your fireplace turned out. Have a question about your diffusers, what kind of oils do you recommend? Found a young living diffuser at Goodwill yesterday. Just don't know much about the oils.Thanks. Have a great weekend.
I have been buying puzzles at the thrift store for a while now, even the Melissa and Doug ones for our grandchildren, and only one kid puzzle has had 1 piece missing out of all the ones I have purchased! I was very surprised. But, yes, I am fine with getting them at the thrift store! The price is everything! However, if I was going to buy one for a gift for someone(outside of family), I would buy new. :) I love watching your thrift hauls!
If you turn the steak knives around and put them with the blade towards the back of the slit space, they will last long. When they go in the “correct” way, it rubs on the wood dulling the blade faster. My friend who is a chef gave me that tip years ago and my knives are still in great shape. 😊
I think it may be upside down like this. It also has slits on the 'bottom'. If you turn it around the knives will probably fit better anyway. They will also fit better the way you suggest.

Not sure if that cute little white piece was a fair lamp or not, I've never seen one like it 🤷♀️ I would def google Lens it to find out tho! I have the Pioneer Woman knife set in teal, i have the pots & pans in teal also & my Keurig is teal, I'M looking for a toaster in teal. I enjoyed watching, you had a nice haul! Hope you have a blessed weekend😊
Julie, I know you said you were going to use gold rimmed bowls for decor, but just a little warning, never ever use something with gold in microwave. I learned the hard way. The gold on my coffee cup got so so hot, it burned my finger really bad. It hurt for days.
Those Noritake tiny bowls are pronounced Nor-it- Ta- Key. They are beautiful.
I gave up trying to find the right sized candle holder for inside my fireplace not to mention at an affordable price and ended up creating something that looks even better that I can add branches or pinecones or any kind of seasonal decor too. Thank you! 🤗 me too!
Hi Julie, The two small white bowls with the gold rim are Noritake which is an expensive brand. I like the way the candles in the fireplace look!
Fireplace looks great! Also, yes, the little bowls are a high-dollar brand, pronounced "nortawkee." Great finds, as always!😊
Genius fireplace idea!! Love it 🤍

That Japanese China is pronounced nor-i-ta-key. Noritake is an older well known brand. Always a great buy.

Good to see you. I am anxiously waiting and hoping for your Thriftmas series this year. It made my whole holiday last year ❤🎄❤️🎄
Thank you! 😊
I love mugs, but one can only use so many!!! I am always on the lookout for 👀 Starbucks mugs for my sister!!
I like it better that you have varied types of candle holders rather than one big one. Love the sweater.
The fireplace turned out great! Just goes to show you that if you have a vision, you can make it come together on a budget.
Thank you! 😊 and absolutely!
My 86 year old mother loves jigsaw puzzles. I thrift them for her. So far none of them have had any pieces missing.
Those candles and candleholders look so beautiful in your fireplace!!! ❤
I love the swirly candle holder....
The plates look like restaurant plates that held a cast iron steak plate in the middle. I use to work in restaurants. I hope that helps. Great haul. 🥰
I LOVE that mallard duck mug ❤
I really liked the pastry blender
It mixed your shortening ng or butter into your flour when making pie crust or any kind of pastry, mixing butter into xxx sugar, or similar need.

Love the candle in fireplace
The candleholder is for a tea light..
Gravy plates usually used for saucy dishes like spaghetti or meatloaf with a bunch of sauce or greens that come with the broth

Anything made in Japan is good value. I know you do not resell. Just saying. Cute!
Great eye! You really know your dinnerware!
Thank you! 😊
@@corinaschelfo2434 Thank you! 😊oh I love learning.
Brilliant fireplace solution! I enjoy your videos. 👏🤩

Wagon wheel headboard would have turned into a trellis for my country yard!! Thanks for the video. God bless

Nice steak knives , the block is not as bulkie as your previous one so I think it looks much nicer! Kim
It’s a gourd! I do buy puzzles at GW and they hardly ever have a piece missing. Guess had good luck so far!
Thank you! 😊oh that’s good!
Another great and interesting haul! I thought for sure you would pick up that hand crafted quilt scrap cow though!
Hi Julie, your fire place looks so pretty with all the candles lit. I love the little gold frame that you have your fathers picture in. That was a good price on those steak knives.
I was at that same Goodwill over Labor Day weekend as we were traveling from Houston to AR. I found just a few things
I love the mug with the anker.
God is my anker.
I ware an ankerbracelet too
Briley knew what she liked.
I love lighthouses too
Always love how you style your buys

I used to have a lighthouse collection. I had to downsize when I moved to a condo, so alas, I left it behind. I had a lighthouse guest suite…

Hi! Great finds. Love the mental candle holder, fireplace looks beautiful. Tfs
The jar sealer looked like a c-type USB charger, but as someone mentioned earlier, some companies will send you missing parts.
Great haul. The sweater is beautiful. I think I would have gotten the Columbia blanket. That was a great price and I loved the color.
I know you want it in your fireplace and the candles also think about red bricks for risers
Beautiful! The Firer place looks Beautiful. Wonderful 🙏🏼 Idea.
I just enjoy watching your videos ❤❤❤❤
Good day for thrifting. You found some good stuff. The candles in the fireplace look cool.
I have always wondered how the pointy things on candle holders came off if they did . Now I know how to be able to use them.
I’d call. The oval plate a steak plate. And the Pastry blender you could use as a recipe holder.
Checked Google. Looks like your steak knives are high quality!
Love the candles in your fireplace!
Great finds‼️
I would have purchased the green blanket but I live where it gets cold. I have a blanket on my lap right now. I love how your fireplace turned out! You always do such a great job decorating. Thank you for always taking the time to make these videos.

I only will buy a puzzle if it's new. The candles are pretty in the fireplace. Nice haul.
Thank you! 😊
Hi Julie 💓 so cute ur trifting finds are love how u style it all always Laura thank u 😊
Thanks so much! 😊
I'm the same way.....I leave the puzzles behind(unless an unopened box) bcus I always think that pieces will be missing.
Fireplace looks good!

Lovely little haul and placement!!!
That pastry v blender you were trying to figure out an alternative use for, I have seen used as a hand towel holder. Just fyi :)
HiJulie, those candles in the fireplace are perfect , the staggered heights are just right. Great finds & styling.
Thank you! 😊
Everything looks so Beautiful.
Fireplace looks beautiful
If you turn the steak knives around and put them with the blade towards the back of the slit space, they will last long. When they go in the “correct” way, it rubs on the wood dulling the blade faster. My friend who is a chef gave me that tip years ago and my knives are still in great shape. 😊
I think it may be upside down like this. It also has slits on the 'bottom'.
If you turn it around the knives will probably fit better anyway.
They will also fit better the way you suggest.
Very cute grandk8ds i love their slippers.Oh Julie i never buy puzzles at the thrift store unless they are brand new.
Thank you! 😊
I bought a puzzle today. I hope it has all the pieces
I am also reluctant to buy used jigsaw puzzles..

The florals are gorgeous!
Your grandaughter is precious!!
That pastry cutter could be repurposed to display a recipe card inbetween the metal parts.
Thank you! 😊she definitely is! That’s what I was thinking!
We used to get breakfast and lunches on oval plates at the diner in the Rexall drugstore
Your fireplace looked nice and welcoming
Those oval center plates look like restaurant ware used for a steak or fish or other long piece of food?
Julie I love the candles in the fireplace !! I Love the swirly candlestick ! Wish I had a fireplace !!

Try some Dawn dishwashing on that stain on the knife. Good find!
Puzzles .... Leave behind. ... Loved the fireplace !!! ❤
Thank you! 😊
Not sure if that cute little white piece was a fair lamp or not, I've never seen one like it 🤷♀️ I would def google Lens it to find out tho! I think that cute weird shaped Santa was made from a gourd! It was certainly shaped like one! The garland made of spools, buttons & little dolls reminds me of my mom🥹 We both used to collect rag dolls & mama started making them. Babu we used to go to all these festivals & those little rag doll garlands were very popular, i had several, each made differently of course. The fireplace turned out really beautiful! I love it!❤ Looks so cozy😊 The dried florals in the bucket really do look realistic! Love the color, so pretty! I like where you placed it too. I have the Pioneer Woman knife set in teal, i have the pots & pans in teal also & my Keurig is teal, I'M looking for a toaster in teal. I enjoyed watching, you had a nice haul! Hope you have a blessed weekend😊
You're so cute! It's pronounced "Nori tockey" China. It's high quality China sold in Dept. Stores and online. Those little dishes were so cute.
Thank you! 😊Lawd!!! I totally butchered that lol
Love your video. XOXOXO
Love your hauls. I believe the China bowls are pronounced NO-RI-ta-ka. I could be wrong.
Or Nor-E-ta-ka.😊
Julie, I know you said you were going to use gold rimmed bowls for decor, but just a little warning, never ever use something with gold in microwave. I learned the hard way. The gold on my coffee cup got so so hot, it burned my finger really bad. It hurt for days.
Great stuff
Awhh I love the strawberries ❤
