Goodwill needs to calm down. Seriously!! They are pricing DONATED products barely under "new" prices. All of the ones within miles of me (with the exception of 1, right now, near me) have priced me out of their stores. BUT...I have discovered multiple thrift stores I never knew about, and some that are new to our area. Their prices are still in a good range AND I would rather support the small "mom & pop" shops any day!! Goodwill is getting really, really greedy. Sad.
The Goodwill near me seems to take all the nicest stuff elsewhere these days. It used to be really fun to go thrifting there, but now my local ones are mostly junk.
@@kristind1110 they do online auctions with them. I have done the online auction but between the other bidders, the cost of shipping, what they originally priced the item at, and that the items get broken in shipping....its NOT WORTH IT.
When I kids were small I always had a Valentine Tea Party. We had it at night, I put candles on the table, bought cute heart shaped plates, napkins. No one does a tea party. I do it now w/my Bible study ladies and my granddaughters. You will never be sorry if you do one. My husband even enjoyed it. A special time to show how much you love them!
I agree! We had 2 boys and 2 girls in that order. Every Valentines Day I did the same making a heart shaped cake with pink frosting, boxed candy for each, cards, lots of decorations and we had a party first when my husband got home and then it became when they got home from school. Then a baby sitter would come and my husband would take me on a Date. Our first Valentine's Date I was 15 1/2 and he was 17 and we went to our church banquet. @@pastorcdb4247 That is wonderful! Of course my husband and I did not go out for a date that night. We are not that far behind you We will be married 53 yrs. this Oct. We were late becoming grandparents, all girls ages 14,12, & 6. They love the tea parties.
That's great! We will celebrate 53 years married late August. Our grandaughters have always lived in another state but we would have loved having tea parties. As a Pastor's wife I headed up 21 years of Victorian style tea parties for our church ladies and guests.
@@pastorcdb4247 So we were married the same yr. How much fun to have a Victorian tea. When I 1st suggested a tea at our church for Christmas I got there a little late and was shocked to see Styrofoam cups set out. Our church has a nice dinner set white cups w/green ivy. After that we also did one for Mother's Day and they all abided by my mandates. LOL! At 7:02 that is a very sellable basket. What I do is give it an all over coat of thinned down bull's eye yellow shellac and it looks like a museum piece.
What a great haul!!! I really loved the white glass basket. I think my grandmother had one similar. Lots of wonderful items!! Nice video! Beautiful Bible verse. God bless.
You passed on the white Fenton glass when you grabbed the milk glass. I would have bought both. The Fenton glass with the clear rippled edge is a great find
Hi from Australia Elizabeth, new subscriber, I love vintage styling and I must say you have a beutiful home and channel one of the best I have seen, I am binge watching 🙋♀️👌
Oh wow Elizabeth you did score! What an awesome trip and haul I squealed when I saw a couple of things 😂 My fave this trip was the gold pic frames, 2 gold baskets, fabrics and milk glass basket (my grandmother had one of those always thought it was so beautiful as a child) thanks for taking us along. I hope you have a blessed weekend. 💕
So I had in my stash probably for 20 years an old wooden frame that had the rail for a plate like a plate rail so I just decided to paint it black and then sand it to give it some texture and it is beautiful but I just painted my dining room white and the trim is black but only the facing of the trim, but it sure looks beautiful that and then my accent color is greenso I will be hanging up that shelf soon. Something that I’ve had for like 20 years brought it back to life.
Ohhh wow you really had A great thrift day.. If only I could have been there in person i would have REALLY enjoyed lol😄 You totally scored some awesome pieces! I collect the milk glass, especially hobnail and that piece was gorgeous! Love the little basket, i have a few of those, we get them in at our thrift store pretty often so I've grabbed a few😉 And i love picking up the shelves too, can't go wrong with those. I especially loved those 3 little ceramic pictures..and that gingerbread pan was just adorable! Yup great finds!!
That squirley metal thing is a cupcake display holder. The tablecloth was perfect and oval frames look great on your wall. I think my favorite was the white basket.. you just are so intentional where you put things which makes everything so beautiful…like you..beautiful ❤
Elizabeth, you found so many really nice pieces. I love the little gold baskets that you use as ornaments. The blue and white dishes and the milk glass are beautiful
Wow your Goodwill looks like a regular retail store. Mine are all so small with only 3-5 small rows of home decor. I'd have a big old time in a thrift store like that!
You have such a gift for decorating your home so beautifully, I wish you could decorate mine! Do you have any recommendations for what you look for for your style home and decor?
