I have the newer version with the all plastic case. Maybe made in China per your comment, I notice the trigger is sticking on, which is not fun when you let go of the trigger and it keeps running. Seems the spring torsion has the trigger twisted and binding or rubbing enough for a 30 to 50% stick rate on the trigger, the old ones were made so much better. I had the one B4 yours, all steel beast, trigger worked perfect every time. Thanks. Be safe , and I the same.
I found a Milwaukee 6072 with the sanding plate attached (9", 13 amp) in a garbage pile on the side of the road. Replaced the power cable and cleaned it up, works fine. Little noisier than yours and a lot uglier, but I don't use it much. I sent the serial number to Milwaukee, the rep said it was from like 1986 or so. He couldn't be more accurate since the numbering system had changed, some time ago apparently. Fortunately they still make it, just in China now, so parts are easily available. Saw one of the Black & Deckers on Ebay, $140 I think. Thanks for the video!! :)
Are there signs of contamination getting inside or leakage outside? If it is not broke don't fix it. Why did the engineer not put a seal on there? Is it good that it breathe hot cold hot cold. Trust the engineer until he gives you a reason not to. Or she. 😊
As a teenager in Florida i used to use Grinders to sand off bottom paint on boats I used to use craftsman Brand Grinders and the bearings and brushes would get destroyed from the Barnacles and metals in the paint like a dumb teenager i would walk into my Sears with my Bat Company Tshirt on and demand a new machine because it was a Craftsman technically Sears wasn’t supposed to Warranty Craftsman power tools like the hand tool warranty and the Warranty was void for Commercial use but i would know the routine and lie my ass off untill the manager would eventually give in and get me a brand new machine to get rid of me I would Trumphantly leave the Store knowing i could finish that boat in the morning or do another because i got paid by the job my Mom used to make me scrub down the Shower/ Bath tub whenever i was done showering when i got home some days i had to Shampoo my hair 3 or 4 times to get rid of the paint dust that didnt bother me too much because as a kid i was getting paid $ 100 to $200.00 per boat and i had a system developed that i could do one each day nope I wasn’t Hercules by any stretch of the Imagination just a hard working dumb ass kid! Who always had a few dollars in the bank and my pockets back then i was a certified Scuba Diver that at 17 years old owned my own boat and alll my own Dive gear i did eventually start bottom cleaning underwater which wasn’t as messy as using the modified Grinders In my 40s restored a 1964 Wooden Chris Craft Cabin Cruiser boat and I had to grind off all the years of bottom paint it was very difficult physically as i did buy a newRyobi grinder that worked okay but really kicked my Ass holding it up while laying under the boat all day long I do still have that grinder that i use only for cleaning up Welds like its supposed to be used for honestly when i bought that grinder i dint think it would last long enough to do that boat bottom as i figured it would be a throwaway tool for that task only heck I’m 56 years old now and that grinder is still going strong
Drop some humor in your videos. It can be complete shit. But the stage is a tool bench. Expectations are low. Seriously add some humor and you'll get alot more subscribers AND I get to enjoy your videos more! Love your ability to fluidly expound well-rounded observations about tools. Its really great. Keep up the editing flourishes.

One thing I have learned from your videos is that brand loyalty across various tool types is not a good thing.

Does anyone know how to change the blades on this with the Alan key?
Could I put gasket sealing material on the gear housing, or would that mess it up?
