This defiantly doesn’t make me “board”! This is what losi owners do after parts get discontinued, 1 week after they release them

I like it. And after finally seeing how a race-made buggy steering system works, you could totally stand that servo upright and shove the ESC and receiver behind it for my whole "front biased rear motor" idea. Really the only question is how far forward you can get the battery while it's mounted transversely... But I have another idea for that, and it's to make a wider chassis and/or use a 4wd 1/10 buggy body. I'd have already found this out myself if I actually had a buggy and race battery on hand to try it, but alas; I am broke AF.

I swear this is very cool what you’re doing… Love it
You American guys really live the RC hobby as it should be.
(Japanese too but in another way)
I’m amazed to see the RC shops you have in USA, your racetracks/clubs are CRAZY fantastic… the track/club you’ve got MxAcres makes me dreaming !!
I hope here in France we will succeed to redevelop the hobby in a decent way (the hobby kind of died these last twenty years here, it’s VERY slowly starting to come back, France is a fking old slow country with TONS OF TAXES who kill the industry……….)
    Anyway
What a pleasure to follow you guys, I’m grateful to what America is doing for the hobby, the brands (especially Traxxas, let’s be honest), the guys like you who take the time and make efforts to share and entertain us, that’s really, really cool.
    Thank you for this !!
    Big salut 🫡 from France
    ViNZ.

      "especially Traxxas, let’s be honest"
Yup. Bullying dealers and suing the shit out of anyone who even slightly stumbles into the protected domain of their EXTREMELY broad and vague patents is doing a lot for the hobby.
      🙄
In all seriousness, though, Traxxas's position in the hobby is a double-edged sword. They do a really good job of exposing the hobby to the general public with their marketing, and admittedly they do make some good entry-level models (albeit ones that aren't a good value for the price). I just wish they'd stop litigating the shit out of their competition or imposing strict percentage-based sales quotas on dealers.

@@VestedUTuber I’m agree. This is their bad side… They are number one and abuse on certain big aspects unfortunately.
But I have also to recognize their work on so many points is WAY ABOVE the industry, the support, the spare parts pricing, packaging, the infos quality about their products, the model’s manuals, the consistency of the options for each model, etc. etc.
Sincerely I think it costs A TON.
I did my studies and my whole career into automotive field and to me they pushed the boundaries to something very comparable to what we do into real scale car brands.
All they do and provide is made to offer a serious and durable experience in every aspects, like for real cars.
I mean I really feel the immense effort to create something serious AF into the hobby, personally I really appreciate that because it’s giving big credit to the hobby and a real place.
Obviously it has a cost… And now we are far away from their debut when their cars were crazy good deals for our money… I remember being a kid my first RTR, the Traxxas Fiero GTP, the price was so low we had to open the box into the mall with my parents to check if really everything was inside before buying it for Christmas haha… (gold old days btw…)
Now Traxxas is on another planet for sure.
If they abuse too much the market will always reminds it to them, and maybe we arrived to this point like you said, also with Arrma starting to offer crazy great products kicking the ass of Traxxas !
This is a good thing, competition…
By the way I’m very curious to see comparisons between the Mojave 4S and the Maxx Slash !
About Traxxas dealers, are you one of ?
Is it possible to explain me the deal with Traxxas you’re saying ?

I would not say Traxxas's cars are "way above the industry" when you've got the racing brands producing vehicles that would put some full-size race cars to shame in terms of build quality and engineering. If you haven't looked at some of the cars produced by, say, XRAY, Schumacher or Serpent, I strongly recommend doing so.
Honestly, the availability and pricing of spare parts is probably their best aspect, it's hard to beat them in that regard.
As for the issues with Traxxas dealers, I'm not one but I've talked with a few. What Traxxas basically does is this - if Traxxas products don't make up a certain percentage of your RC sales, I think it's something like 25%-30% at minimum which is actually pretty high all things considered, you permanently lose your dealer status. Which can be a death sentence for a hobby store due to the brand's popularity. Oh, but those sales have to be in-store. If a large enough percentage of a store's sales are online, they also get cut out of the Traxxas dealer network because Traxxas wants all online sales to be direct from them, not through a third-party dealer.
It's a big enough issue that many dedicated track-side shops, such as the one at Beachline RC Speedway, typically don't carry Traxxas at all, not because there's no demand but because they wouldn't be able to meet the quota when a majority of their customers are buying AE, TLR, Schumacher, XRAY, Yokomo, PR Racing, LC Racing or Tekno.

I appreciate the craftamnship, but this make no sense. It would be easier, maybe cheaper and more efficient to order feom somebody the piece 3d printe. Wood does not have the same flexibility and ocerall propriety of abs or other reiforced plastic. Love the ideq but i still feel u overdid there. Absout ghe losi owner in search for lost part, 3D printing may be a solution

Losi went seriously south when Horizon bought them out. They don't really build much anything competitive anymore. Only a few drivers still race Losi stuff.

    • @VestedUTuber
      @VestedUTuber 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

In all honesty, they still do make some good cars on the RTR side of things - the Mini T 2.0 and Mini B are great budget racers, and the TENACITY TT is still a very capable 4WD SCT owing to its 8IGHT heritage even if it's not a top-end racer like the TEN-SCTE. But other than that, yeah, Losi _and especially_ TLR got shafted after the Horizon buyout.
