thanks for this! I'm only 18 but I'm from the tropics (island boy) and going back to my country this summer. wanted to get in the mood for it and get some experience before I head back there. I'm also super interested in this field and all the lessons that come along with it. Hope our boats cross paths one day haha!
i work in a marina in fort lauderdale and have never once seen one come off one of these boats that wasnt atleast somewhat attractive. They are definitely all in shape as it looks like a cleaning 24/7 job.
I have been applying for a year. What am I doing wrong? Am I too old and ugly because I have all my training and have worked for a private country club for years and actually host members private parties. So I have exceptional serving and bar skills. But I am 45 so is that keeping me from a job????
Hi, I am Russell, I am hoping you will answer 2quick questions, 1. I have a full lower leg tattoo & a few other visible on my legs how much will this, if @ all, hinder my ability to join a crew & 2. this will be new to me & I am 51 yo, how much will my age affect my ability to join a crew on the deck? Thank you for your videos & if you answer! 😊
Hey Russel! Every boat has different rules & requirements… I know plenty of yachties who have tattoos! Some have visible ones… Some have hidden ones… It really just depends on the owner of the vessel and what they do, or don’t want on their boat. And as for age… That’s tricky one. I am 31 and I’ve been told that I am getting “too old” to be just a basic deckhand and I should focus on getting higher up in rank so I don’t have to do the more taxing (on our bodies) deckhand duties. I don’t want to discourage you though… Every boat is different, but on an overall kind of answer, younger, Green deckhand will be favored

I long do u spend at sea?
Is no tattoos important?
Are you still looking for work on Yachts?
I’m not looking for work. Get a lot of questions about it though, so I wanted to make this and (hopefully) help others who want to get started
Do you think not being vaccinated would be an issue for getting hired?
Many countries required proof of having the Covid vaccine to enter.
So honestly? How does being smoking hot help? Honestly asking. Does that ever turn into something? Sorry if that's offensive. Just asking.
Looks do help...

A CV is another word for a “job resume”
