Sounds
Arturia is a great company with awesome products. They provide frequent firmware updates & support, my Polybrute is still my favourite synth but I also had a microfreak which was a lot of fun. The Minifreak would make a great first synth, easy to use with some great sounds but If you have one of the Hydrasynth range then it would be a little redundant though.
Anderton's key & synths did some great vids featuring a patch for patch play-off comparison and they also linked it to an Osmose which really boosted it's performance capability. I would be interested if Arturia go all out and created a MaxiFreak with some extra capabilities
A buddy of mine has a MiniFreak. He loves it! I really enjoy playing it whenever I visit. He also has a MiniBrute that we featured in one of our videos. I gotta say, the while Arturia echo system is truly an enjoyable experience for sonic exploration.

@@synthsamuraiproductions Been a little busy of late... My 91 year old mom was rushed to the hospital and we almost lost her but she's back home and doing great!! She has 9 lives like a cat!!... Still it can be very trying on us.... so that's why I've been kinda silent... plus the damn pollen in NC is killing me... I don't like to complain but I've been having a bit of a hard time dealing with it with my health issues..... But your videos always get me fired up and I'm always waiting for more from the Samurai!!!
@unclejerrysworld thats hard times but good news for your mom. Things can be rough man you’re strong dude though you be there for your family as far as the allergies go up some quercetin. Take like 4 a day kill allergies on the spot

by the way how do the keys feel? are they semi-weighted? i hope so. i hate when keys have no resistance. i'm used to playing on a grand piano so.

Similar to the keystep. They have afterouch but not semi weight. Controlling this with a larger high quality mini controller would be the way forward for you

This sounds great! I especially liked the Geiger sound. They picked a great person to demo this in a real-world way and not just describing the features.
The Geiger preset it addicting the sound is incredible. Im pumped you like the demo!
@@synthsamuraiproductions It is like the vinyl static sound on the SH-4d but playable rather than an effect.
I think I asked you this before, but it may have been in one of those comments that never actually posted. What do you use for the vocal effects? Is it the Roland e4?
@ccjmusic roland VT-4 and then add a little reverb and slap delay on the mixer but the VT-4 does the heavy lifting. I got a meris hedra pedal to add to vocals but havent had time to hone it in yet

Have to say that I wouldn't be surprised if Arturia releases a 5 octave normal size keys with poly aftertouch version with deeper engines than the micro and minifreak offer.
The things that stopped me from getting a freak is the minikeys and shallow engines. The system needs more depth/modifier options on the engines. 3 options is just not enough (it makes the synth very reliant on fx)

What happened to your arturia polybrute 12 leak video? Did they get to you too?
Awesome synth for the price and the fx sound fantastic too. I had the micro freak but sold it not because it wasn’t excellent but because i have a ton of other synths. Have my eye on this one though now, however like everyone else says it would be great ( not for the wallet 😅) if they released a bigger freak. They’re a really unique company, very different from all the others, i love their brute range.
Every time I turn this on, it blows me away even more the thought that went into the preset creation is breathtaking. If you’ve got a larger keyboard that you can media out into this then it’s magic. I’m gonna put up another couple videos soon.

I've been thinking of selling my micro and getting one of these. The micro is a blast and surprisingly powerful, but the mini addresses my whole wishlist of what the micro is missing. My only issue is the extra size. I don't need another keyboard. If there was a desktop I'd have no questions about pulling the trigger

I hated the microfreak but after a year or so I realize how nice it cuts thru a mix but I bet the hydrasynth crushes it wish it had a real per step sequencer Roland style

I think assembled in china. But could be a combo of vietnam, indonesia china taiwan. But office for white collar in europe i am sure 👍

@@synthsamuraiproductions the voice architecture invites exploration. I use the VST version. For me it is a lot easier and quicker to get into all the "nooks & crannies" with that and I am not one who believes there is some sort of "magic" in the analog filter here. If Arturia came out with a full size Freak with 2 of these engines (each with dedicated interface) and shared full size polybrute style matrix instead of the mini one plus 5 octave polyAT I definitely would be onboard for that...

It's a really nice sounding synth, but I keep myself from buying it due to the exploding frog drawings and animation on the screen, I'm totally against it.
