Nice one... A little hint: You can make the ADSR more snappy for percussion sounds. Just press "Sound Edit" and the "Mono/Poly Button"... there you can adjust Attack/Decay/Release to "percussive" :-) ... love this thing for "groove shadows" :-)
There are many reviews on the minifreak but this is the most useful on all of TH-cam because it really talks about the sensation, the feedback, the quality of the "basic" sounds, it was very useful to me. I'll get a Korg Minilogue xD :D
@@halcyøndrøne xd doesn't have a routing, few possibilities of editing, very old software, it doesn't have aftertouch, etc. I choose it just because sounds "real" and very warm, to me. The Minifreak technically is a better machine with much more possibilities, it depends on what you're searching for. Have fun with it! 😃
This made me a lot more interested in this synth. The creative opportunities in the sequencer make it more impressive. Love the new, less constrained format - Stimming works best without constraints!
This is a very underrated synth, it has mini keys that many complain about. Given that it now becomes a portable device, it's a great keybed imo, i have a KSP and the keybed is fine. Everything else on this synth is a massive bonus, sequencer, arp, spice n dice, multiple engines etc etc etc.
Yeah arp & sequencer is best i have ever seen in the whole history of quick sequencers on synths. The 101 was a real champ for ages, but this one has the great creative sci fi features. Amazing.
I have to agree. Every part of this synth is really well thought out and designed. I just sold a UDO Super 6 and I was worried that it was gonna be big shoes to fill but this little synth really holds it down. TBH this thing, with no manual even initially released was far less buggy and "complete" than the Super 6 when I first got it (and even now.... firmware updates were few and far between). Obviously the S6 is an amazing synth so i'm not totally knocking it but for the money the MiniFreak really is a bargain.
@@agenticdevices I think UDO's biggest let down was the lack of screen, not being able to see modulation routing can be counter productive, bit of hit and miss. Still sounds great yet still has its buts. Mini's UI is one of the most intuitive I have come across and for the money, even the keys don't even make this as a complaint.
always happy to see a new 15 min...we need more! I am so curious you to review the Uno Synth Pro. Hope to see that in the future. I actually realy like mine.
Why does everyone or almost everyone reverts to the reasoning that it’s not an analog synth. REALLY Guys, get over it; there’s no such thing as a virtual synth, it was a sales pitch at some point but digital synths have ceased to be emulators long ago!! 😊
it's really musical. do I have 6 others that will get a similar sound? yes. but there has always been something cool about this synth. Thanks for the vid bro.
You can watch a video to confirm your prejudices, or you can watch a video to gain a different perspective. Thank you for a critical view on a synth that (almost) everybody is lyrical about, but on which I'm a bit reluctant to spend 600 euro, even though I love Arturia.
Dub Smash! 😉 - Great review as always Stimming - with regards to the envelopes, not sure if you tried the 'Percussive' envelope. Since you have two characteristics for Attack, Decay and Release. 'Normal' and 'Percussive'.
I like that Arturia made the Minifreak a purposeful upgrade to the Microfreak, Dual engine and poly-aftertouch with their great keybed a programable mod wheel and finally the effect section with all the added gimmicks . It's much better vallue that the already great value micro which I love truly.
Does it have poly aftertouch? Everything I can find says it has channel aftertouch but no poly aftertouch. The micro has that though. I feel like omitting it in the mini was a misstep. Still want one though. This thing seems like it would be so much fun.
hey there! amazing review Martin! the minifreak seems like a win for me, even if I'm not really interested in getting it for now... would you do a review of Modal Argon8 or Korg Drumlogue? those seem like nice things for you to look into :D
In the realm of synths is the only place where we refer to the fundamentals as superior to the latter technologies; as subtle as saying candle light is superior to light bulbs, prop engines superior to turbine, and petrol superior to electric. No my friends!! 😇😇😇😇😇😇😇

right!? so entertaining to see someone who's SO into the sounds and what's happening..............no pretence here............
Very Ross from Friends. Love it though. Sorry.
I just love hearing Stimming play music. He is an amazing musician and i always see some techniques to tryout on my own gear. So inspiring.
Indeed- i was franticly patching my Grandmother , while watching Stimming taking the Granny for a spin !,-😅
stimmingggg, feels like he is bionically connected to this synth
found the demo to finally sell me on this thing. love the aggressive, almost hyperpop/industrial sounds
Thank you for the video - I love your personality and enthusiasm. An absolute pleasure to watch and listen to.
Love this new format, the 15 minutes always left me wanting a little more! Great video as always.

genau, die cycling envelope ist ok, und auch der lfo ist schnell genug (das rechteck) - die main envelope haben sie zu weich gemacht, leider.
Yep, dachte ich auch in dem Moment. Voll der build up.
