    Ouch...
    Injury certainly is best to avoid.
    Hope you'll eventually heal even better.
    Good advice 😊

      @@MichaelEckertHey love the video!! My question is, how do we progress in this program? When do we add weight and how much? The next week would we add 5lbs to each set in the pyramid or only the last set?? Thanks for any advice!

    Good vid. I just started doing my first weighted pullups this week after 2 years of working on pullups. I'll probably get a belt like yours soon but for now I've just been putting a 15 lb dumbbell in a backpack and that works well enough.

    My belt arrived earlier this week. Worked out great last night. Great recommendation. Thanks for the info.

    Do you have any tips for breaking through a weighted pull up plateau?

    • @MichaelEckert
      @MichaelEckert  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Start doing weighted isolation training. Do weighted pull ups but pause for 3-5 seconds at the top of the rep or you could just hold the high medium and low positions of a pull up.
      The increased supporting muscle group activation will help you push past a plateau.

      rest , no need to push yourself. there is no real world benefit to weighted pull up maxxing out. rest is best.

    How much rest between sets for those of us that consider ourselves pull-up beginners (less than 10 attainable reps in a single max set)

    • @MichaelEckert
      @MichaelEckert  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      A strength training staple is to rest between 3-5 minutes. You need to make sure your body is primed and ready to take advantage of the next set so as weight increases the rest can increase also.

    Still capable of more Pull-ups than I've ever done lol...
    I can do one weighted chin-up with 90lbs, but only one for now.

    Hiya, hiya.
    Just want to say thanks for the video. Pulling strength/rock climbing is my main hobby to train right now, so these are great.
    Just a couple things:
    - Any tips for training pullups (weighted included) with low clearance? I'm 6'2 and I'm limited to pulling on a doorway apparatus, so I have to have the weights in the groin area, and my feet are always tucked behind me.
    - Also, the 'g' in 'harbinger' makes a j noise.
    - Lastly, your shoulder injury is some big suck. Especially because it doesn't really seem like it's due to any negligence of your own. That said, it's actually way more relatable to see you starting (relatively speaking) from square one. I'd wager most of your audience wasn't putting up god-tier numbers, so it's likely more relatable for them as well.
    While it's not worth the injury, few people who are qualified to offer advice on this subject will ever be as relatable as a result.

      @MichaelEckert  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome thank you for this. For clearance issues that kind of sucks because the weight positioning would have to change.
      You could probably gain a sh*t ton of strength by putting a lighter weigh on your knees in front of your body and training that way until you have access to a different bar.
      Yeah I am attempting to document the comeback to the world record attempt with all the injuries involved.

      @@covidfartfog8076 Not a perfectly dumb question, because there's no way to know exactly what a person is talking about if they don't say it. I'm with you on that particular subject. The paths to destroying the US is easy; and it seems like demokkkrats have found all of them.
      They do not know that the string pullers they're listening to are intent on gutting the US to turn it into a 3rd world nation (as a victory for communism and failure for freedom)
