I seen a video earlier today where the guy took his 100% reliable pistol and made it replicate Chris's issues exactly. It was the right screw on the dot interfering with the extractor. He ground off a hair of the screw and it went back to 100%. So anyone having issues should try it without the optic and see if that's the problem. If it runs like it should without the optic then you know what the problem is and how to fix it.

Would keeping the screw out of the plate be considered a fix as well? Don't really have the steady hand to shave off anything from a bolt that small

I don’t think the screw is the issue, but for every 1 person that says it is 9 says it’s not even physically possible with the design. I had zero issues with mine now through 1200 rds

any time I install an optic I first take a tooth pick and check the hole depth on the slide. The I drop the screws through the optic and take that measurement I go with tooth pick and compare. the exposed screw through bottom of optic should always be shorter than the hole depth in slide. that way one never worries about extractor interference.

Took mags apart and soaked/greased. Got rid of the slide lock leaving a round in the mag. Then got 2 FTF using Magtech. I don't CC so not bothered by it at the moment. I've had mine for a couple weeks now. I bought it for the optic cut. My eyes aren't getting any younger. I haven't shot it that much and no optic yet. Love the gun. I've got quite a few CZ's and they're hands down my favorite guns and haven't had any issues with any of them. All that being said, My only gripe about this gun is the shape of the trigger itself. My EDC is a P07 duty ( for about a decade now) and the trigger blade has a super curve to it and I so prefer that over my 2nd gen P07's triggers. . My P01 has the same curved trigger and it's my back up EDC. That's all just personal preference and not the gun itself. I'm hoping I can put the same trigger blade on the Nocturne so I can use it as a bedside gun, I found your channel yesterday and sub'd right away. Thanks for posting this !!

Thanks for the follow up. It seems to run fine. Who knows what the problem with Chris' gun is. However, I always start my investigation looking at add-ons, and if there was an error in mounting or compatibility. I pretty much expect the base CZs to run well and shoot straight out of the box. Adding something to the slide only increases the probabilty of issues. It certainly is not going to make it function more reliably. With optics, as you point out, things like screw length and torque are important to avoid issues. Who knows. I have never had an issue with my original P365 and people were saying that the P365 was as reliable as a 1909 weather forecast. I eventually concluded that those problems did not apply to me.-

However, I do not want to be that guy because sometimes people get really offended, thinking you are attacking their ability or knowledge so I did not push the issue not even on my channel. However, there have been so many different videos. One guy put up a 16 minute video explaining that it was physically impossible for the screw to interfere with the extraction rod or spring because it was in its own enclosed metal tunnel, not accessible by the screw, but for me, the burden of proof has not been satisfied either way One way or the other I wish we could just get some clarity

Well… I hate to report that I had the same issue as HO with mine as well. I initially shot about 150 rounds with no issue, then I saw HO’s video and decided to put several hundred more rounds through it. I shot around 300 more rounds total, and had the issue a total of two times. No optic, no light, well lubed, factory mags. I only had 115 grn Capital Cartridge ammo with me so I couldn’t switch out ammo; doesn’t seem to be an ammo issue anyway. I haven’t seen any other videos or read any forums about others having this issue.

The magazine problem is that the spring is extremely heavy and if you load 15 bullets in, it becomes difficult to quickly insert the magazine into the gun, often ending up with a magazine that is not all the way in, which will cause the bullet to not feed. Had this exact issue today while shooting my Nocturne. If you push the magazine in hard, problem does not happen, but if I would carry a spare, I would only load 14 to avoid problems if in need to reload quickly during use.

When I mounted my EPS I noticed the extractor pin was protruding above the surface of the slide keeping it from mounting flat. I would imagine, if the optic is pushing down on it, it would bind. Haven’t fired it but I took a hammer and punch and tapped that pin down to flush. So if his was installed on a protruding pin it may have caused it to bind.

If I have good information, when using M4 x 9.8mm screws, the length under the red dot is 3mm. The thread depth for P09c is 6mm. So even using 11mm screws means they will be 4.2mm long at the bottom and can be used. The screw in the hole does not press on anything and cannot touch anything, so it is impossible for even a longer screw to cause any functionality problems. My Defender arrives next week so I'll check it out.

No, that’s exactly the size I have in that tent. If you look at some of our older videos, you will see it in the videos. However, the ground out there is so lumpy and unlevel no matter how I would set it up or I would try to prop it up with every single time I would lay ammo or a magazine or something like that on therewhile I was filming and just look like an incompetent While I was filming and just look like an incompetent butt so I used the tailgate of the truck for the longest time because basically that is a small table

Very odd since internally it’s the same. Could be qa or some issue with setup. All that being said generally never buy a new machine. Car, truck etc. just ask those 22+ Tundra owners. Lol

I think most of HO problems was his wife shooting and was ok ,when he shot it , as watching the vid

She had 11 malfunctions and he had 2. I know from watching them for years she doesn’t limp wrist that bad in fact she’s a decent shot. My wife shoot mine in every video I’ve done and she famously limp wrist but getting way better and it was fine even with her shooting. I think everyone is anxiously awaiting to see what he finds out. If people like dishonest outlaw tried testing their guns 100% stock instead of tacking on junk like flashlights, red dots, and wrong magazines until the test is over.........just sayin'.
