I love my 2024 Kia Forte GT. If you want a compact and 200 horsepower for $25,000 - The GT is the way to go. The Civic SI, the GTI, or GLI are $5,000 more. Even the Elantra N-Line is $2000 more.
Becuase those are sportier cars the the forte gt isn’t lol, hp isn’t what makes a car sporty epscislly when we are talking about number less than a Prius
I like mine. There’s some design issues I’d like to see improved. And another 40-50 hp would be great. But it can (out)run with a new integra which costs a good deal more so overall I’m pleased with my purchase. Great car 👍🏻
If you keep vehicles longer than 5 years, the Forte will not last. What’s the point of having a 10 year warranty if you keep taking the pos car to the dealer all the time, how annoying!
I have 2 hybrid Mavericks. 2022 First edition with all bells and whistles and a 2023 Xl! Don’t need a truck but this thing is the most practical vehicle ever, and MPG champion for its size.
I love how from 2021 to 2024 car brands raised the price five grand for each car. We used to be able to get a Corolla for under 20K. Now they want 25 Grand for it. And no one's asking the actual price anymore. Like you could get a decent Subaru for 25k now they're 30. Camrys don't even get me started
Edmunds videos are always nice to see, I love this segment and they're always so informative. For reliability purposes, I rather take a reputable brand with 5yr/60k warranty that actually honors it rather than the 10yr/100k miles. I buy a car to drive it not to drive a rental every time it needs to go in for warranty work. That 10yr/100k miles isn't something to brag about. Getting a Kia/Hyundai dealer to honor any major work or parts that are scarce is like pulling teeth. A simple search online shows lots of people have issues getting warranty honored once its past like 5 years, including myself.
I'm not certain. But my friend's mom has a Kia soul she's had for years now. And she just had to take it to the dealership where they repaired the part or replaced it. Her insurance would cover it. It's only certain models if you didn't get the different part and Kia and Hyundai offered it for free. She just had a rental car for 3 days because they were so backed up.
Not to mention that Nissan CVT transmissions are terrible for reliability. The small cars of the 90s were far better than the ones of today because they are easy to repair and would go 300k+ miles with regular maintenance.
1:07 and I think a NISMO version could make an excellent hot hatch. a bolt on supercharger, brakes and suspension upgrades on the manual car, could make a pretty compelling option if they can keep the "all in" cost under $25k
The Hyundai Venue is a nice car, but I’d avoid buying it! A lot of insurance companies AREN’T insuring them. Especially if they’re key start. They’re high risk due to being easy to steal, and I learned the hard way. Geico charges a minimum of like $250/mo.
Hilarious thing on American car brands. Korean and Japanese cars are made more in America than all of the big name brands like Chevy Ford and GM. That's awful. I know so many people who s*** on me for owning or wanting to own foreign cars. The most American car brand is Honda. They have cars that have the most American parts that actually were made and produced here. Meanwhile, their RAM and Chevy and Dodge are made in Mexico or China. 😅
The main issue with Kia and Hyundai they make cars that are kind of sporty and people usually don't take care of their cars in the first place. So I know my grandfather has a key SUV a 2021 seltos. And a few times he drove it like a race car because it has a lot of zip which is just going to tear down the engine. He stopped because my grandmother got mad so he doesn't do that anymore but still.
If you keep vehicles longer than 5 years, the Forte will not last. What’s the point of having a 10 year warranty if you keep taking the pos car to the dealer all the time, how annoying!
My grandparents have had their Kia suv for 3 years now and nothing's gone wrong with it. Only thing was a sensor that went out on the horn but they went to the dealership and got it changed out within an hour.
The trouble with this list is it doesn’t factor in TCO. The Korean and American small cars, because of poor resale value, often cost more to own over a 3-5 year life span than a Japanese car (which is more expensive to purchase but has superior resale value).
@N-light-end-1 Some years back I bought my last Toyota. It was a small Matrix. Trans died at 160k miles. I currently drive a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport with 233,000 miles and the engine is going. Just put 3k in it and it only brings 1k on trade-in. It had a lot of recalls but has been good until now so I am shopping again.
Ford? Ive been order the base hybrid since it debute and never got it. Now its base with an Ecoboost. U want a hybrid its 1500$ more. Get ur fact straight. Its like 29 and some

Not really anymore. Maybe where you live but in the majority of the country a car that's 10K now was 5K 3 to 4 years ago. Just like how a new car today that is 25k was 20K 3 to 4 years ago. The inflation has gone up on it. I've seen dealerships want 17K for a 7-year-old car with $70,000 mi on it. When the guy originally only paid 21 Grand for it. But since the new one is 26 by golly. Or you'll have a 13-year-old car for 8 Grand and has like $100,000 mi on it. It's not worth a grand half its life is gone and it's been sitting. Hell I saw a guy. He had a car. It was out of inspection and it was 18 years old. He wanted 1600 for it. Nothing ain't even worth more than 500 if it can even be fixed.
@@tom24865 This. The used car market is absolute horrendous right now. It's not worth to buy over inflated used cars with over 200k miles for $15k. It's just a huge ripoff. Newer is better as you don't get any history with that car.

Cheap doesn’t mean bad, and it’s hard to go wrong with the cars we’ve listed here. Let us know which one you’d take and why in the comments!
I still cant believe the kia soul gets classified as a suv.
Right, they're decent cars but not SUVs

The GLI has more space though
You should have got the n line

I love my '23 Forte GT. Lots of bang for my buck for the price! And it much, much quicker than a Civic si!
I recommend not getting Hyundai or kia in the US because a lot of insurance will no longer cover it due to too many thefts.
That's only true for older models with basic basic trims. Keyless Kia cars doesn't have this problem.

Main reason im scared to get one
10 year 100K mile warranty “is crazy?” What’s crazy is that warranty claims are frequently denied.
At first I never thought I would get a Kia. But I’ve been happy with my 2021 Kia soul gt line. It’s a pretty zippy car. I’ve looked back since.
i am brazilian and this video makes me almost go crazy...it's infuriating what we have to deal here
Yeah US is best place to own a four wheeler
I have a 2021 GT Line Forte, I'm about to pay it off by the end of this year. So excited!
Do these reviews take into account reliability? Fords, Kias, and Hyundai's have a lot of issues. Just wondering if that was a consideration at al!?
Not to mention that Nissan CVT transmissions are terrible for reliability. The small cars of the 90s were far better than the ones of today because they are easy to repair and would go 300k+ miles with regular maintenance.
That’s by they are cheap
What would be the cheapest hybrid on the market?
Corolla Hybrid methinks
Maybe a Prius.
Elantra Hy
@@Nick-qx1vf nope. $30k is not cheap for a hybrid car. I agree that toyotas are reliable but I wouldn't pay $30k for a corolla.
Too bad GM products come with that on-star nonsense. That is a stop buy for me. My business is just that. My business.
I love this channel, my man giving all the cars recommendations and that's it no fvcked up long talks, thanks man appreciated.

I honestly love how the trax looks
Hopefully it’s not to bad for semi tall people l😅

I used to love Mitsubishi, I had a full size Montero that was excellent! Sadly, they have now specialized in cars for midgets.
I love your bloopers.
Only wish 10 yrs and 100,000 miles warranty would come to Canada as well.
If you want to wake up to a stolen car go for a Kia
Ha! Most cars KOREAN!
Even the Chevy!
I would not be buying a Ford for a few years, until they deal with their quality issues, recalls and TSBs…

The cheapest can in America is 15 grand.
The cheapest car in China is 4 grand.
Not cool.
Not too many people lining up to buy ByD. Since they are known to spontaneously combust.
No one is lining up to buy those tofu dreg cars.
why no 2-door economy cars in an economy car feature?????????????????????????
Bolt EV didn't make the list? 20k after tax deduction
Shirt car tho plus evs are a joke right now That's why the government is paying you to own one.
Kia warranty, good luck getting a new engine or transmission in year 9....
Please elaborate.

Nissans don't look bad, but I prefer a car with a transmission.
Cars have indeed become expensive
The price is with tax or without ? if not what is the average tax in US ?
Without tax. Typical tax is $3000
I don't know the average but my state is 5.6%
You cant buy the maverick at msrp anywherr
