    I just got this and I'm positive it will go thru brick and concrete DIY around the house. Not intending to use for heavy duty construction etc.

    @Tools Tech and Gear. Just to give you a little tips when using Drill/Driver or Hammer Drill/Driver you will notice the Gear Selector on the top when you are Drilling Pilot holes no bigger than 3/8th of an inch use high gear, but if your drilling a half inch paddle bits use low gear. some top end cordless drills can drill a bigger hole in High speed. NOTE: If your Drill is struggling push the Gear Selector down to 1st Gear same thing when you're driving fasteners.
    Now for Concrete?: As a Contractor, Carpenter, Deck Builder and Pre-Fab Home Builder, sometimes when I need to drill holes into concrete for Installing TapCon screws I use Bosch Blue Granite Turbo Mason/Concrete Drill Bits. Try it you're gonna love it! It will turn your drill into a Hungry concrete eating machine.

    In my opinion the author used wrong setting when screwing that thick bolt. The 1st gear should have been used (instead of the 2nd) which would give much more torque.

      I have used this tool now for several months. It is great.

    Very cool. If you do a followup on this, I'd love to see how it does on one of your junk foundations blocks down by the flume, or mounting the next off-grid-power component in your crawl space.

      I will be using it on a seriously hard rock when I get the coanda screen installed.

    I would have liked to have seen how well the drill worked with the lag bolt on the high torque setting

      I will be using this again soon on my Land To House channel. Drilling into rock. The worx impact driver works really well on the lag bolt.

    The rock was very soft, try some granite, marble or at least concrete. That was some kind of clay you used

      Are you using masonry bits? I have drilled through concrete block over 30 times. Up to 1/2" holes.

    I watched your video on the tool. I think its actually a pretty good tool. I will probably still buy one, in spite of your negative review.

    I get the concept of these but I don't think they are very cheap for the unit they need to bring the cost down dramatically and battery being the thing that cost the money but they are about even

    • @ToolsTechAndGear
      @ToolsTechAndGear  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what fair market value is on a unit like this but I do know it makes a world of difference drilling into rock or concrete with the hammer drill.

  • @Paulie1232
    @Paulie1232 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I wish they would let you go directly to hammer drill without having to turn the selector all the way around...and relax on the 2" x 4" they are $10.00 each....

    • @ToolsTechAndGear
      @ToolsTechAndGear  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That would save time. To be honest most of the time I just use straight drill without the clutch feature.
      Haha luckily that scrap piece is from back in November when it was only $7 per board.

    • @workbenchz
      @workbenchz 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToolsTechAndGear It is a hammer drill, for drilling into concrete and masonry for lead bolt anchors or tapcon screws, and the wood 2x4 you are about to attach to the masonry, so you would rarely use it as a driver and dial down into the clutch settings. the impact driver does a better job for that function.

      I'm really hoping that this will allow me to Install the Coanda screen Box onto a rock up on the micro hydro system. The rock up there is very hard but this hammer drill should be my best shot.
