The dubble standards kind of annoyed me here. First they are very negative about Sam. Like oh your dish is good but do better. Be top 3 not top 10 bla bla. Then he wins the challange.. like what? If he had the best dish that day, dont be extra critical of him. They where just positive to the other 2 top 3 people. They have to treat all 20 equaly and not hold others up to higher standards. Thats just unfair. Especialy if a person wins the actual challange. Like wtf.. be top 3 not top 10.. such a rude comment. Rude not just to him but all the other people there. Not cool guys.
This episode is were the others all gathered together to try an eliminate the 3 youngest people int he competition simply because they were jealous and they didn't like that they were friends and encouraging each other. Worst culprit was Chris who was so pathetic faced he would talk about them behind their backs and say who should stay and who should go like he could judge who was best equipped to keep going. No one will convince me that Chris wasn't sure when he choose Josh for his team, he knew that if his team lost he was going to make sure Josh was the one who got kicked off. Whether they admitted it or not a lot of the others particularly older one that were friendly made an effort to try an eliminate these 3 one by one by teaming against them it was pathetic to watch, at the very least Sam and Josh both went to Brent when he was the leader they told he was good cook but they honestly felt as a team leader he let them down. You know what they had a point Brent monopolised the conversation with Stone, he turned down the 20 min prep time which had them getting up and down the whole meal. They showed him respect by going to him first.
Oh my .. when I look at this Masterchef Australia, I have to say it honestly they are no where near the Masterchef USA or Masterchef Canada. This to me look like a home cook edition of the main show. The food is so mediocre, no sense of presentation at all! 🧐 But again, this is my personal opinion.
But it’s actually a proper honest competition with decent judges who give constructive criticism. The American one is awful cos it’s just overblown drama and the judges (especially the bald idiot) aren’t constructive, they’re just rude arrogant snobs. Also this is the first season... check out the later ones. Plus it has better sportsmanship than the American one. This is way better.
This was an early series, if not the first, Canada has got nothing on the current Aussie homecooks. Australia just won the Masterchef World award as the best branch of the franchise. It's a lot bigger than this early version & the chefs are massively talented. Imo Canada is the weakest so far, but I've only watched Series 5 & 6 so far.
