pokepast.es/a51b3a3c2b0e2802 - For anyone who wants to check out the team! Protect on Chansey was meant to be a placeholder for either Substitute or Rest, but I guess I forgot to change it... ik it wasn't in Gen 1
For the first guy: If your opponent is using a “dumb” set, if you can’t finish the battle in 7 turns, you should actually start panicking instead of questioning ur opponent That was meant to be a joke.
I think this Moltres set, while still somewhat gimmicky, may actually somewhat work with Double Screens or Will-O-Wisp spam. Yeah, you can't exactly control what switches on Fire Spin, but you can lower the opponent's damage. If you can throw in Toxic Spikes on top of this... Or if you are willing to burn your Terrastalization on Moltres, you may still use it on let's say Water type, change the typing, and most likely you finish off their bulky Water-type this way. And after that Water type is down, you use something like Gyarados for potential sweep, now that the potential wall is dead.
Yeah I realised that after I had already got the battle and edited the video, was meant to be a placeholder for either Substitute or Rest, but I guess I forgot to change it
Is funny in that first battle, that first opponent having to say stuff like, "blizzard tauros" if you are audible in your confusion, you are usually a dummy.😂
"boosted down" sounds super weird. I feel like. Lowered would fit better. Boosted down means it's going up... down? Just wanted to say this cuz it sounded weird. Video was interesting.
Fun idea, a couple of things to be nit-picky about, Fly is banned in gen 1, Starmie would never leave the house without thunder wave, and same with Chansey, putting it over Toxic. And depending on how you look at it, this shouldnt be a gen 1 team because no snorlax. Other than those minor issues, fun idea, fun video
Meh, nothing out of this world to be honest. Most of those movesets are still similar to what someone would use nowadays, especially when playing in low ladder
Aside from Starmie, and maybe Chansey none of these sets would be used in any newer gameplay... 😂 if its not your cup of tea though then that's fine. I just create fun, non-serious gameplay videos, if you don't like it then it's whatever
@@RivalNatty I just think you relied on abilities and items too much. Sheer Force+Life Orb Tauros with body slam and EQ is pretty standard even for gen 9. Static and Flame Body also had a lot of influence in those matches, you could've used Pressure instead. Eviolite completely transforms Chansey and Rhydon into much bulkier versions of what they were in gen 1. I get that you wanted to use items to make it a little easier, but that completely gets rid of any gen1esque attribute those pokemon still had left.
@@sdl.13 I get what you mean, but the abilities are completely out of my control... I mean, I'm forced to use abilities... granted I could've used the 'weaker' ability but either way, I'm forced to use an Ability. As for items, it would make this challenge near impossible without them. Obviously the point of a challenge is to be difficult and believe me, I tried to not use items at first, but since my Pokemon have AWFUL movesets, we weren't hitting anywhere near hard enough. But like I say, if you don't like it, that's fine, it's whatever 🙂
The only time I had to resort to using a non gen 1 move in a gen 3+ gen 1 ou team, was due to Snorlax losing Barrier in gen 3 and only getting it back in like gen 8
@@paps_yt If you get fully paralyzed when you're in the semi-invulnerable state of fly or dig you will retain the state of being semi invulnerable while being able perform your other normal moves. There is almost no reason to be running these moves to begin with so banning them doesn't really affect anything since you wouldn't want to run fly or dig anyways.

The guy at 5:00 was using a full multihit move team I think, pretty cool.
yeah he was
Elite Gen 1 moves: Fly, Surf, Psychic, Ice Beam
Blizzard too coz it was 90% accurate in Gen 1 lol
And gen 1 hyper bean (no recharge)
Fly is illegal in gen 1 💀
EQ?
@@et34t34fdf Oh yeah that too
That moltres was cooking fr
Nice video. Glad to see how your commentaries have improved
(in his best imitation of Cranky Kong) Respect your elders, sonny...these oldies are still goodies!
"Genwunner" evil team for Generation 10! ^^
Gotta admire the creativity here
You'll do this for the other gens? Like, using only mons for gen 2, gen 3, and so on
What's your favourite Gen 1 Pokemon?
Mine is Pinsir!
Shellder
My fav is Aerodactyl
My goodest boi, Arcanine!
Maybe bulbasaur or starmie
Lol it is funny how they get confuse on gen 1 moveset
This was a fun watch! Gen 3 might be cool.
Gen 2 next👀

Protect wasn't in Gen 1...
Yeah I realised that after I had already got the battle and edited the video, was meant to be a placeholder for either Substitute or Rest, but I guess I forgot to change it
Second guy was using multi hit moves only?
Is not switching a gen 1 mechanic?
There was switching? Weird comment
this is so cursed 💀
8:54 protect is a gen 2 move, not gen 1.... Still, Nice video.
I pointed it out in the pinned comment.
Kinda sad u didn’t use articuno
Protect was a gen 2 move 😜
I pointed it out in the pinned comment.

It says, "booted down"
the second opponent was not good, they literally set up every first turn. you should've taken better advantage of that
Take advantage? Lmao, I'm using a Gen 1 team, we have no set up moves and awful attacks.

Now this is battling! No tera, megas, z moves, or dynamax. Just likecthe glory days. I wish we could go back to pre gimmick days prior to XY...
