Of all people, I never expected Shion to cry on stream. Besides all the "kusogaki" act, she is a very polite and understanding person. It seems that climate changes in Japan can be very sudden and brutal. Hope her tonsils get better. It also shows how its no lie when they say Hololive operates like a family. Shion's pretty young and I'm sure she was overthinking how to discuss the topic on stream. In the end, she even mentioned she wasn't sure why she cried and laughed it off. Honestly, I think she handled extremely well. Right amount of transparency and quashed rumors that could've been taken differently if it were vague.

I really feel for Shion. As a girl who’s pretty introverted, has low self-esteem, and has trouble making friends, Kaichou is someone really special to her. Special enough that Shion could unreservedly be herself around her (just like how she is with Aqua). Although they can still see each other in real life, losing Kaichou in this form still hurts all the same
Shion was on a really hard spot. She was very good friends with the main target of the CCP and she's also best friends with the Idol of the CCP. She couldn't choose a side, because if she did, the other side would get trolled and hated on. After July 1st things are going to be even worse for her as the dumbass CCP drones have already chosen their next target, Aqua. It will be freaking devastating for Shion if both Coco and Aqua graduate. As such its very understandable why she has been feeling sad lately.

Its too common, and so is the complaint that Hololive becomes their lives once they join, and takes all their time and causes them stress. Apparently Cover/managers tell them to take more breaks but I think there needs to be policies and procedures that mandate they take more days off, and breaks during long streams. Also the talent should be encouraged to drop their character voices that most of them do, as maintaining the higher pitched voice 5 days a week for 5-6 hours is not healthy.
I don't watch Shion much but I've always enjoyed her stuff (mainly the Neighbor Wars). I was sad to hear she'd stopped streaming for a while. I am glad she is back and seems to be doing a bit better. Can't wait for the Meme review!

I think shion already knew about it and that's possibly why she asked to reschedule. Makes sense about her health. If temperature is a problem then the changing of seasons won't help on particular months, but the air pressure one is kinda worse. Low pressure weather can cause you headaches and take you out, and it also affects the temperature of the affected environment, doubling the woes Shion might face if so.
I'm glad she's simply resting and getting herself the recovery she needs. These girls deserve it with how much work they put in and the toll it takes on them physically and mentally.

That could also backfire tremendously and leave both of them even more isolated and alone. TH-cam groups living together and streaming or making videos together generally only works for a few months or a year before the drama begins. You can love someone absolutely, but living with them and being with them constantly will bring a lot of minor cons that can build up over a long time, especially when a lot of hololive is still business at the end of the day adding to that stress and need to get along all the time. The big example most people remember is The Creatures.
Cover really needs to start implementing measures to help keep their talents healthy (both mentally and physically), they seam to be really dropping the ball this year.

If they want to fix the work ethic issue, they need to remove various social pressures for, their work environment. One of them can’t take a break, since they will look at the others and feel bad about not working. The same logic applies with streaming less often. A lot of people in Japan won't even take ANY of their annual leave. By Japanese standards, the girls actually do take quite a lot of time off, but then again they're most likely still having regular dance/singing lessons.

All the Holos have antis, some get hurt by their comments more than others. The ones that stream less often tend to get even more antis who think they're lazy, which makes them stream even less because they're afraid of seeing all the hateful comments. Some of the hateful comments come from men who are afraid that a lack of streaming means they're spending time with a boyfriend (even though none of the Holos stream enough to prevent them from having a relationship with someone) and some of the hateful comments are fueled by people who are jealous that their fans give them so much money even when they don't do much (they call fans of vtubers who don't stream much "ATMs"). Also, I don't know how much is appropriate to say, but Shion's been a little active on the Internet outside of being Shion, which has confused people and started rumors of her graduating even before Coco's announcement.

Honestly, I think ALL members should just turn on Members only chat by default. It cuts down on a huge amount of spam. Some members even with slow mode on, it's completely unreadable because the chat goes too fast.

IMO, their growth slowing down just has to do with COVID restrictions ending and a huge wave of new Vtubers. Every new generation they (COVER) introduces just dilutes their audience further. Shion has felt the same with fans, we felt we don't deserve to feel a slight damp of happiness that day. I didn't have the smallest ounce of energy to play 2 second of any game that day as well. Too much memories in the making, all gone in a snap.

When we heard about Coco graduating I did wonder if that had anything to do with the meme review being postponed. It's understandable that she would be too upset to do it. Glad that it seems like she will get the chance to do it though.

I really feel for Shion. As a girl who’s pretty introverted, has low self-esteem, and has trouble making friends, Kaichou is someone really special to her. Its too common, and so is the complaint that Hololive becomes their lives once they join, and takes all their time and causes them stress. Apparently Cover/managers tell them to take more breaks but I think there needs to be policies and procedures that mandate they take more days off, and breaks during long streams. Also the talent should be encouraged to drop their character voices that most of them do, as maintaining the higher pitched voice 5 days a week for 5-6 hours is not healthy.
I don't watch Shion much but I've always enjoyed her stuff (mainly the Neighbor Wars). I was sad to hear she'd stopped streaming for a while. I am glad she is back and seems to be doing a bit better. Can't wait for the Meme review!

Shion and Aqua both live alone right now and seem to be struggling with that adjustment... I would love if they would become roommates and support each other in real life, I feel like that emotional support from a friend physically living with you could really benefit them both.
That could also backfire tremendously and leave both of them even more isolated and alone. TH-cam groups living together and streaming or making videos together generally only works for a few months or a year before the drama begins. You can love someone absolutely, but living with them and being with them constantly will bring a lot of minor cons that can build up over a long time, especially when a lot of hololive is still business at the end of the day adding to that stress and need to get along all the time.

A lot of people in Japan won't even take ANY of their annual leave. By Japanese standards, the girls actually do take quite a lot of time off, but then again they're most likely still having regular dance/singing lessons.

All the Holos have antis, some get hurt by their comments more than others. The ones that stream less often tend to get even more antis who think they're lazy, which makes them stream even less because they're afraid of seeing all the hateful comments. Some of the hateful comments come from men who are afraid that a lack of streaming means they're spending time with a boyfriend (even though none of the Holos stream enough to prevent them from having a relationship with someone) and some of the hateful comments are fueled by people who are jealous that their fans give them so much money even when they don't do much (they call fans of vtubers who don't stream much "ATMs").
Also, I don't know how much is appropriate to say, but Shion's been a little active on the Internet outside of being Shion, which has confused people and started rumors of her graduating even before Coco's announcement.

Honestly, I think ALL members should just turn on Members only chat by default. It cuts down on a huge amount of spam. Some members even with slow mode on, it's completely unreadable because the chat goes too fast.
Even worse when you are watching JP and want to catch the translator. It could be added that you only see the mod's or members, because now you mostly don't even watch the stream but trying to catch the tra slation.

I refuse to believe that a channel's growth is stymied because some idiot can't spam emojis over and over again. With the power of Eldritch knowledge, I learned that Shion is actually the youngest member of Hololive IRL. This makes the video even more sad to me.
Shion has felt the same with fans, we felt we don't deserve to feel a slight damp of happiness that day. I didn't have the smallest ounce of energy to play 2 second of any game that day as well. Too much memories in the making, all gone in a snap.
When they take a break I'm always worried they are overworking themselves, Japan is notorious for people overworking themselves and getting sick or injured because of it. Hope the talent remain healthy and happy without pushing themselves.
I hope she's taking singing lessons like Subaru, so that she can control her theatrical voice better

Man I had Tonsillitis just last week, it was literally the worse pain of my life, I couldn't even swallow proper, I just stayed in bed high on meds 3/4 of the day and the other 1/4 agonising and drooling. I feel you, Shion

When we heard about Coco graduating I did wonder if that had anything to do with the meme review being postponed. It's understandable that she would be too upset to do it. Glad that it seems like she will get the chance to do it though.

when u hear a lot of sa then u know it's sad, happy for Shion that she's sorting things out and the idea that she wanted to reschedule the meme review so she can laugh normally with Coco for a last time is just heartwarming
It's too bad that members-only chat isn't considered the norm. It seems like that move tends to be best for the streamers' mental health.
And if you noticed, even haters (antis if you would) and doxxers does infiltrates this 'feature' to spy & get more personal infos they need to stir and make things worse, which is a double-edged choice if streamers not careful with their rants etc, i mean 'members only' can't really be the option for mental care, as the stakes are sadly high to further fuel the 'dramas' by the 'rats', we're literally strangers afterall, no matter what..
My recommendations would be company-assisted health care (for vtuber companies), or family/relative support for indies (this ones tough, i know..), just saying..
Sometimes you get physically ill, other times its mental/emotional burnout. Regardless of the reason, taking time off to rest and get back in proper shape is important. It sucks that they feel like they should apologize for taking a break and they’re not feeling well.
Gosh. She's literally the 7th member I've noticed has had throat problems. They must be under a lot of stress. I hope they can relieve the pressure they're under more in the future.
